Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/protest-law-breaking-by-breaking-the-law/.

The Occupy Wall Street crowd currently residing in a place Michelle Malkin calls Kamp Alinksy is full of people who do not really know why they are there. They protest capitalism while using and wearing the materials produced by the capitalism they claim to detest. They demand that their debt be forgiven. They demand that the wealth of the rich be taken and redistributed. They claim that they want the banksters arrested for their crimes by protesting at the homes of people who are not part of the banking system. In short, they are disorganized and most likely showed up for the free sex and drugs.

One theme that continues is the anger at the bankers. The OWS crowd is mad that the bankers, according to them, caused the economic problems by participating in illegal activities. These people want those bankers arrested and held accountable.

How do these people protest the alleged illegal activities?

They do so by committing illegal acts themselves. They have vandalized property, disrupted traffic, participated in violence and have clashed with the police. Hundreds of them have been arrested for breaking the law. These people are demanding that their charges be dropped or they will all clog up the judicial system by demanding a jury trial. I previously wrote about this and stand by my position that the prosecution should push for maximum sentences for anyone who demands a jury trial.

But let me get this straight. The people who are protesting the bankers for allegedly breaking the law and not being held accountable have broken the law and are demanding not to be held accountable.

Does it seem right that these people think the way to express their anger over alleged illegal activity is to participate in illegal activity?

Does it seem right that they think it is wrong the bankers escaped punishment from our legal system but are demanding not to be punished by our legal system?

I do not agree with these people but could respect their position if they were not breaking the law to express their dissatisfaction at what they see as people who broke the law.

They need to go get jobs.

First they need long, hot showers.

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/us-cracks-down-on-illegal-immigration/.

The United States government has finally done something to crack down on illegal immigration. The US has produced a video warning people from another country that they need to know the laws before coming to the US. Now one would think with millions of people walking across our southern border from Mexico the video would be directed at Mexico.

No, all the money spent on the video was to warn Israelis not to come here illegally and the video even has a few Israelis who have been scammed by an illegal operation that dupes people. They get to the US and find out they are here illegally and end up banned from coming back.

Most of the folks coming from Israel did not set out to break the law, they were duped. Yet, our government saw fit to invest a lot of money in a video aimed at a relatively small number of people. Don’t get me wrong, if people are coming here illegally they need to be dealt with. But we have to figure if the benefit is worth the cost and we need to ask why such an effort is not in place and aimed at Mexico?

You see, the folks in Mexico are coming here illegally and they KNOW they are coming here illegally. Hell, their government helps them come here illegally. And the funny thing is there are more Mexicans here illegally than the entire population of Israel.

Yes, we have between 12 and 20 million Mexicans here illegally and the population of the entire country of Israel is just under 8 million. The entire country of Israel could come here illegally and it would still not be as bad as the problem from Mexico (and we would get more skilled labor).

Our government spent a lot of money to educate a small number of people from Israel (most the victims of a scam) about coming here illegally while it continues to ignore the southern border where millions of people walk in as if they own the place.

I know that this regime is hostile to Israel but it seems that this is just a bit too much.

How about they stop wasting money on these videos and start doing some real border control? How about the government turn its focus toward Mexico and worry about catching the huge number of people entering illegally from there.

The folks coming from Israel seem to be getting caught without any special focus and obviously they were caught before the video was made. How about letting the Israeli government educate its people on immigration rules and while they are at it they can go after the criminals scamming people. We can then turn our attention to the south and close the floodgates down there.

Focusing on the south would give us more bang for the buck. We can change that focus to Israel when millions of Israels come here illegally and commit violent crimes. I have a funny feeling that illegal immigration from Israel will never reach the level Mexico has achieved (its a simple numbers game).

I also bet our government will never be as serious about the illegals from Mexico as it has demonstrated it is with the illegals from Israel…

See the video here.

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/they-just-wanted-a-level-playing-field/.

Anyone who owns Apple products knows they are at least two things. They are quality items and they are expensive. After all, you have to pay for quality. The iPhone, iPad, iPod and all other “i” items are very good and lots of people own them. But some folks are priced out of the market and thus must rely on other tactics to get them. Thus is the case with three poor folks who tried a smash and grab at an Apple store. They broke out a window to steal Apple products and were, unfortunately for them, confronted by an armed guard. When one of the attackers displayed a weapon a gun battle ensued leaving one of the poor folks dead, one in the hospital and one under arrest.

It is unfortunate that these people had to resort to such tactics but it is unfair for them to have to go without an Apple product while others are able to get them. This is America where the left believes we should all be the same and the playing field should be a level one. If the government would not step in to provide Instant Troubled Apple Relief (iTAR) then people have to resort to such things.

In reality these were criminals trying to make a profit off the work of others (much like the left) and they paid a stiff price for their criminal venture.

The truth of the matter is, the poor in this country own lots and lots of Apple products. Those on food stamps and other forms of social assistance routinely display iPhones, iPods, and iPads while waiting to get “their check” (anecdotal based upon conversations with people who work at the agencies that handle such social relief).

The poor in this country, those who think the rich have taken wealth from the poor, (if they are poor where did they get the wealth that was “taken” from them) have all kinds of nice things. They have a place to live, air conditioning, cell phones, other electronic devices, cars and nice clothes. Evidently, they are able to afford these things because they are not bothered by having to pay for pesky things like food or energy.

In any event, a security guard removed a criminal from the gene pool and two others will be facing jail time for murder.

Of course, this is America. They might end up with a slap on the wrist, file a lawsuit against the store and the guard and own all the Apple products they want.

After all, they must have a level playing field though for the life of me I can’t find where that is a guarantee.

Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/its-not-just-acorn-that-is-the-problem/.

ACORN, the Association that has given “community organizing” a bad name, has come under increasing criticism and even investigations. Good, but not enough- not nearly enough, as this organization has, through the years, morphed into many entities; SEIU, the Services Employees International Union, the Tides Foundation (a Soros- based liberal organization), and the Apollo Alliance, a group that helped the Resident actually write the healthcare and stimulus bills- think there might be a wee touch of conflict of interest, given the SEIU is organizing the nursing profession and other service aspects that stand to receive scads of money if all this passes.

All of these “organizations” need to be investigated- that much is plain- what isn’t , is whether these actually will be.

As various charges and complaints have materialized over the years, it seems that ACORN uses the communities in which they are located as staging grounds for national power grabs. With multiple states and entities receiving federal funds, ACORN plays to win. Aiding ACORN are groups like DEMO’s, the Democracy Alliance, Soros Open Society Institute, and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). The Washington Examiner has covered ACORN’s: “Muscle for the Money” program:

“ACORN’s so-called ‘muscle for money’ strategy extorts ‘donations’ from targeted government and corporate officials by offering them Mafia-like protection from protests by the group’s own paid thugs, many of them convicted felons. ACORN has also blocked bank mergers until the targeted financial institutions agreed to change their lending policies to ACORN’s satisfaction.”

biggovernment.com

“Mafia- like” protection- oh goody- that sounds, well- illegal, doesn’t it? At the very least, unethical, but when has unethical ever stopped a liberal before (see: Bill Clinton)?

This has been going on for a long time, beginning with the CRA (Community Reinvestment Act) of Jimmy Carter’s term, which had the lofty goal of allegedly helping the less advantaged to progress in society, but ACORN and the others all do one thing in common- they use the politics of confrontation and passive extortion to achieve their ends.

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/lock-ted-stevens-up-and-throw-away-the-key/.

Senator Ted Stevens of Alaska has been charged with accepting all kinds of things illegally. Stevens is accused of accepting $250,000 in gifts including renovations to his home. Stevens has been serving for 40 years and they have finally caught up with him. I say that if he is guilty (I already know he is) then they should put him in jail and throw the key off the bridge to nowhere.

Interesting that the charges should be filed now, just a few months before the general election. The cynic in me says that maybe this is to show Republican scandal just before an election like during the 2006 mid terms. The Democrats knew Mark Foley might be doing bad stuff with kids but they ignored it and put children in danger until they could use the information politically. Maybe the timing of this is designed to help them out.

This also gives the MSM the opportunity to ensure that every story about the charges reminds the public that Stevens is a Republican. Every story will mention Ted Stevens, Republican, from Alaska. This will take place courtesy of a media that never mentions the party of a Democrat who gets in trouble. When William Jefferson was caught doing all of his illegal things the media never mentioned he was a Democrat. It was so obvious that when Rush Limbaugh mentioned Jefferson he would say “William Jefferson, Democrat Louisiana.” But remember, there is NO media bias and as soon as they all get done spreading rose pedals across the path of Obama they will come back and tell you that.

Speaking of William Jefferson, Democrat Louisiana, what is his status? Why is it that Ted Stevens is being charged with crimes and there has been no word on what happened with all the charges filed against Jefferson (D, LA)? Jefferson was caught back during the Katrina time frame and his illegal activities have been well documented. He was indicted, why has he not had a trial? He should be in prison right now warming up a seat for Ted Stevens.

Maybe his status as a Democrat offers him immunity?

Regardless, Stevens broke the law and he needs to be gone (as does Jefferson). I have no tolerance for criminals regardless of which party they belong to. I don’t trust any politician and stories like this one make me hold them in even lower regard, if that is actually possible.

Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/georgia-police-help-criminals-find-booty/.

Imagine if the police in your neighborhood checked your home while you were out and left a big, bright sign tacked to the front door informing you that they had found your house unlocked or an open window. You would get home and be thankful that the police came around and checked it out, or would you? The sign might be a nice way to let you know that you left your house open but it is also a beacon to criminals who would also know that your house was vulnerable. It would not take much for criminals to realize that a bright sign means potential target.

While this scenario might seem unlikely it is, in fact, a reality but instead of leaving signs at houses the police are leaving them on cars. Police in Conyers Georgia are patrolling parking lots looking for vehicles with packages that are visible from the outside. When they find packages that are easily seen they leave a bright yellow colored 8.5 x 11 sign on the car window. Not only are the police informing the car’s owner that their vehicle is a potential target but they are informing any would be thieves that the car has items in it that they might just be interested in.

This is one of those things that seems like a good idea but has unintended consequences. It is a good idea to let people know they have left themselves vulnerable but it is pretty stupid to also let everyone in the general area know it as well. Placing the signs on the cars makes it easier for thieves who do not have to waste time scoping out cars for the ones with booty in them. The police have done it for them.

Perhaps it would be better if the police officers patrolled the parking lots looking for people breaking into cars rather than looking for cars that have items in the open.

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/colorado-guard-could-have-been-any-citizen/.

Columbine, Virginia Tech, the mall in Omaha, and a church in Colorado all have one thing in common. They were all places where a gunman (or gunmen) opened fire on innocent people. In several of the incidents a large number of people were murdered because they did not have protection. They were not able to exercise their 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms and they died because of it. The irony is that several of these places are in states that allow people to carry but the murders took place in no-carry zones. It would seem that the murderers selected the targets for this reason, no resistance.

Things were slightly different at the church in Colorado Springs in that there was an armed security guard there and she pulled out her weapon, identified herself and then took out the shooter when he failed to listen. This demonstrates what could have happened in each of the other shootings if only one person had been able to exercise his Constitutional right. The only thing that is irritating is that the only person at the church allowed to have a gun was a guard. If that guard had not been there the death toll would have been higher.

I listened to a radio program the other day and I heard them talking about the mall shooting and one person suggested that they have metal detectors at the malls. That will go over like a pregnant pole vaulter. Another person called in and suggested that if people had the right to carry arms this would not have been that bad and immediately the host said well we can’t have people carrying guns. Imagine the mess if there is a sale item that runs out, Black Friday would really be black.

This is an assumption based in little reality. Nearly 40 states have open carry laws. When was the last time you read about someone getting shot because of a sale frenzy or Christmas shopping frustration? Never, because responsible gun owners don’t go around shooting people. Then the host said imagine if two gangs got ticked off in the store. Hello! Gang members get their guns illegally and carry them regardless of the law. If they want to have a shootout they will not decide against it based upon a no-carry law.

The fact is, in places like Texas and Florida, where people may openly carry, there are fewer crimes and people with carry permits are not causing them. I think one person out of 350,000 permit holders in Florida broke the law. The balance obey the law and carry their guns responsibly.

Imagine how history might look at the above incidents given different circumstances. In Columbine it might have been reported that, after hearing gunshots, a teacher pulled out his pistol and shot the criminals before they went around shooting people like fish in a barrel. Imagine the headlines at VT if one person who had a permit had been allowed to carry his weapon on campus. Police today said that two students were killed before Joe Smuckatelli, a part time student at VT, pulled his pistol and killed a deranged student who went on a shooting spree. In Omaha the news might have been very different if only one person in that mall had a weapon and could have used it against the nut job kid who went on a killing spree.

The Colorado Springs incident shows how quickly people’s lives can be saved if an armed person is able to confront an assailant. Interestingly, there are many cases where armed citizens actually stop crimes without firing a shot. The act of brandishing a weapon is often enough to stop a criminal in the act. These hardly get reported because they do not fit the gun grabbing agenda of the MSM. Even though it is painfully clear, as demonstrated in the Colorado shooting, that armed citizens save lives, politicians will still refuse to allow us our God given right to keep and bear arms.

And while they do, the murder rate will continue to rise, but only in places with strict gun control.

King likes the ending so much he thinks anyone who reveals it should be killed:

Frank wrote a new ending that I loved. It is the most shocking ending ever and there should be a law passed stating that anybody who reveals the last 5 minutes of this film should be hung from their neck until dead. First Showing

It is too bad these Hollywood types don’t feel the death penalty is warranted for actual criminals. They all cried about Hussein, they cried about Tookie Williams and they protest every time some murderous thug is set to be executed.

No, they will protest killing a murderer and will protest the “right” to murder an unborn child. And now, God forbid anyone discloses the ending to a King movie.
