Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/armed-citizens-have-reduced-gun-crime-rate/.

A headline at the Daily Caller reads; “Gun crime continues to decrease, despite increase in gun sales” as if the expected outcome of more guns is more gun crime. What it should read is; “Gun crime continues to decrease, because of the increase in gun sales.”

It has been shown time and again that an increase in gun ownership results in a lower rate of gun (and most other) crime because criminals don’t know who is armed and who is not. People in Texas are less likely to be the victims of crime than are the people of Massachusetts or Maryland because people in Texas own (and carry) weapons. Their state does not infringe upon the people’s rights like other states.

People are victims of crime because their government enables criminals and places citizens at a disadvantage. After all, when seconds count the police are only minutes away.

Liberals will ignore the facts and discount the reality that more guns means less crime. That has been shown in many states where guns are readily available and where lots of people own them and liberals still don’t get it.

No, it will no doubt be attributed to Obama and his leadership.

Come to think of it, more people own guns because of Obama so maybe he is responsible for the decrease in crime.

Copyright © 2012 Mr. Ogre. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/crimes-and-election-coverage/.

So, a few notes on the day before elections in the US:

First, to follow up on Margarine Crimes, a couple other things that are crimes in the “Land of the Free” today:

Riding a horse is the equivalent of carrying a loaded gun. I am amazed that people can actually defend these things, but they still do.

Wearing a mask is a crime. If you read the article, the guy is actually charged with “wearing a mask or hood in public.” Incredible. Of course, in each of these instances, no one was harmed and no one was in danger — but that doesn’t matter to anyone. How sad.

Finally, a bit of election coverage. Across the nation, including on Drudge and other national news outlets, the news is being reported about the CBS affiliate in Anchorage that was caught preparing to make up false stories about Joe Miller and report them as news. So, what are the main newspapers reporting on in Alaska, where the election is being held?

Juneau Empire: Judges are on the ballot and Juneau’s legislators are cool.

Anchorage Daily News: US Senate Candidates are campaigning and Alaska state legislators are confused.

Fairbanks Daily News-Miner: National Republicans may be bailing on Joe Miller and TV station’s goof causes splash.

So, two of the state’s biggest cities’ newspapers are completely ignoring the fact that a news organization is preparing to lie to defeat a candidate they disagree with. The third is laughing at the idea that the news organization got caught preparing to lie.

And people wonder why the news organizations are trusted so little today.

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/have-an-ethics-problem-just-scream-racism/.

Charlie Rangel and Maxine Waters (this Congresswoman is about Socialism – her words, not mine) are in some hot water. Rangel has had 13 charges brought against him after a two year investigation and he faces the possibility of a public trial on his many ethical violations. Waters is under investigation and might have a public trial as well. Both trials would come just prior to the November elections and would hurt the already battered Democrats.

It is important to note that Rangel and Waters wanted the trials. Before we get into it any further, it is important to recognize this. They wanted the trials, they will get them, and now a bunch of people are crying.

You see, Waters and Rangel are black so this must be targeted against them because of their color. The evidence is that several other members have been or are under investigation and they are black. Yep, there is a concerted effort to go after black members of Congress. Never mind the illegal things they have done, they are being targeted not because of their illegal acts but because of their color.

Of course this ignores the fact that plenty of white members of Congress are under investigation or have been investigated. The major difference between them and Rangel and Waters is that they did not want a public trial so they settled the matters against them long before it got to that point. Remember, Rangel and Waters are at this stage in the game because they wanted to have the trials. The most recent white members who have been in trouble resigned from Congress. Rangel and Waters did not reach a settlement and they did not resign. They wanted a public trial.

I guess they figured it would never get that far and by screaming for a public trial they figured people would assume they must be innocent. Now that they are getting their wishes many Democrats are distancing themselves from them and some are asking for Rangel to resign with dignity (this would assume he actually had any).

Rangel is a pimp. He rides around in a big car paid for by taxpayers and he acts like a pimp in the hood. He is a slick mac daddy who thinks that the rules do not apply to him so I doubt he will resign (but the right deal might make it happen).

While he is getting pressure to resign many are looking at things and making claims that blacks in Congress are being treated differently.

There’s a “dual standard, one for most members and one for African-Americans,” said one member of the Congressional Black Caucus, speaking on condition of anonymity. Politico

Oh really? Those poor blacks have a different standard. What a crock of BS. The reality of the situation is that Rangel has been given every benefit of the doubt for the past two years. There is no doubt to sensible people that Rangel broke the law on a number of occasions. He can claim ignorance but he broke the law (what was that about ignorance of the law being no excuse) and he should pay for it regardless of his color. Rangel benefited from his skin color and his party affiliation. Representative Massa resigned quickly after allegations that he sexually harassed male staffers. He was probably worried about what would be made public if they investigated him. He resigned to avoid embarrassment.

Massa is a white Democrat. Is there any doubt that if a Republican (regardless of color) had the baggage that Rangel has or committed the acts that Waters allegedly has that Republican would be investigated quickly, would not get the benefit of the doubt and would be guilty in the court of media opinion? Rangel has had a two year ride while they tried every which way to find a way out. Rangel wanted a trial so they had no choice but to give him one.

Now they are talking a deal. I believe that it would take a Republican on the committee to agree. No Republican should (neither should the Democrats). Rangel wanted this public trial and they should make sure he gets it. Nancy Pelosi promised to drain the swamp so let us have this trial so we can see what is at the bottom of it when it is drained.

I am tired of hearing about some racist motive every time a black person gets caught with his hand in the cookie jar. If they committed a crime then it matters not what color they are and it should not matter what party they are from, they should be held accountable for what they did.

The funny thing about this is the quoted item above. There is a standard for Congress and a different one for blacks in Congress. How about there is a different standard for Congress than there is for every other person in this country?

This is absolutely true. If any other person in a private business did the things that these people have done and are doing then they would be in jail. Many people in the private sector are hauled before Congress to be grilled over things they have done that are no different than what members of Congress have done. Sweetheart deals, kickbacks, jobs for family members, affairs with staffers, and who knows how many other infractions Congress members commit only to be excused while they are pointing fingers at others.

To top it all off, Congress investigates itself and the investigation involves the rules for the House or the Senate. It does not matter if they committed a serious crime if it is not in that rule book or if the people in Congress investigating it deem it to be no offense.

You won’t find that kind of system in the real world.

No, none of this has to do with the color of the skin of the people involved. It has everything to do with entrenched politicians who feel they are above the law. It is about people who have been doing this so long they do not think they have to follow the rules.

It is about power corrupting and it is about the need for term limits.

But it damn sure is not about color.

Throw all the bums out in November and start fresh.

Cave Canem!
Never surrender, never submit.

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/and-so-the-cover-up-begins/.

Joe Sestak is running for the Senate Seat currently held by Arlen Specter. During the primary the White House offered Sestak a position in the regime to drop out of the race. Obama owed Specter his thirty pieces of silver for switching parties and this was one attempt to get competition out of the way. The only problem is that Sestak was having none of this and he blabbed that he was offered a position to drop out.

His story was consistent all along and he disclosed the information when he was not overly happy with the White House. In other words, he was not worried about protecting anyone. The White House has been saying that nothing happened, it was not illegal and that we should all move on. The people who said they would be most transparent are covering up a crime.

Look at how these pieces fell into place. Bill Clinton was in DC and happened to have lunch with Obama and the regime’s people made contact with Sestak’s campaign manager (who happens to be his brother). Then, miraculously, we learn that it was Bill Clinton who made the offer to Sestak and that the offer was for a non paid job so no crime here, nothing to see, move along.

Was Clinton in DC and was Sestak’s brother contacted so that the conspirators could get their stories straight. Did Clinton actually make the offer or is he taking the heat to keep it away from the White House? I can’t imagine him being that noble so look for him to get some ambassadorship or something similar in a few months. It is also interesting that Sestak is ratcheting back his previous assertions. What took place?

No matter what, the statement released by the White House is inadequate and only adds more fuel to the fire. There is the claim that Clinton contacted Sestak and a non paying job offer was discussed. That is illegal, paid or not. But put that aside and look at the rest. The memo released indicates that several contacts were made with Sestak and there is no explanation as to what took place during them.

The regime has dropped this information on a Friday before a three day weekend in hopes it would get buried but it will not. It looks like the Obama regime has been caught in a pay to play scheme that could land people in jail. There is a heck of a lot more evidence here to indicate that Obama and his people were involved in wrongdoing than there was in the Plame case as it related to George Bush so one would expect the MSM to be circling like sharks in bloody water just as they were during Plame.

But that will not happen because the MSM is full of Obama lap dogs who make excuses and cover up his criminal activity. If Obama were a Republican we would already have Woodward and Bernstein digging through the trash.

This whole affair (funny how we can once again use that word and Clinton in the same light) needs to be investigated by an independent party. We do not need a special prosecutor right now but we need someone outside the crime ring to be investigating. The entire investigation of this issue was conducted by White House lawyers under the direction of people working for the regime. They investigated themselves and expect us to think that they were honest and above board in doing so.

Sorry, that is not how things work.

For all you libs who think this is OK keep in mind that your leader and his Democrats in Congress are pushing for more control over the financial institutions. The claims are that the financial industry cannot have oversight over itself and requires monitoring from the outside. How can the same people who make these kinds of claims think it is OK for the White House to investigate itself in an issue with possible criminal activity?

Yeah, imagine if Bush would have said that the White House investigated the Plame issue and there was no wrongdoing. Do you supposed the MSM would have been OK with that?

There was criminal activity involving the Obama White House and it needs to be investigated.

Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/arizonas-misguided-immigration-law/.

Barack Obama took the opportunity to call out the state of Arizona yesterday during a White House ceremony where a number of US service members became naturalized citizens. Obama said if we fail to act (he uses that phrase all the time to trump up the urgency) we will get more misguided efforts like the one in Arizona.

Arizona’s Governor responded by signing the legislation into law thus giving her police the tools to fight a problem that is the result of federal inaction. The federal government has had opportunities to stop the flow of people coming here illegally but it refuses to do anything meaningful. The federal government has given amnesty two times in the past and each time the amnesty came with a promise that this would not be necessary ever again and that the border would be closed and immigration laws followed.

Instead, we now have about 12 million people here illegally and their presence is a burden to the financial system of our country and they are a particular burden to the states because the states end up paying for them. They attend schools, they get government (taxpayer) money from social programs and they commit crimes. Those who support the illegals say that they commit no more crime than citizens do. Who cares? If they were NOT here they would be committing NO crime here.

Obama and his Democrats are working up yet another amnesty program that will allow people who broke the law to get here and are in violation of the law each and every day, to become citizens.

This is the only thing misguided here.

The Arizona law allows police to require proof that one is here legally if that person has made contact with police for some other reason. If they are pulled over for speeding or involved in an accident then they can be asked. ANYONE can be asked to prove legal residence.

This law is the direct result of federal inaction and Arizona’s patience running out after a huge influx of illegals, drug related crimes involving illegals, murders caused by illegals and kidnapping at the hands of illegals.

If the federal government had kept its promise after either of the other two amnesties this law would not be necessary but since the federal government has been playing games with the issue, Arizona was forced to act. Arizona is a sovereign state and has a right to protect its borders. It has a right to check to see if people who are there are there legally.

Therefore, all people should be required to prove that they are here legally to (among other things) enroll in school, apply for welfare, buy or rent a place to live, get a driver’s license, and get a job.

Those of us who are citizens are required to prove this for a number of things. It is high time that we applied this to everyone so we can weed out those who do not belong here.

I can understand how Obama would be opposed to Arizona’s law. He has been asked for his papers a number of times and has refused to produce them.

Arizona looks to address that as well.

The City of Chicago will be shutting down early for the Christmas holiday, as part of Mayor Daley’s plan to save the cash-strapped city money.

City Hall, public libraries, health clinics and most other city offices will be closed on Christmas Eve as those city workers are being forced to take the day off without pay. CBS 2 Chicago

Since most of the crime in Chicago is committed by the government then it stands to reason that there will be less crime.

Of course, the Chicago thugs in DC will still be committing crimes against humanity.

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/acorn-dirt-keeps-piling-up/.

Looks like the ACORN office in San Diego (that demonstrated fraud like this) is not the only one that has been breaking the law by dumping thousands of papers containing personal information. ACORN beat feet out of an office in Oklahoma last year so it could avoid paying the back rent it owed (no wonder they help people get loans they can’t even hope to pay back) and the group left behind a lot of paperwork and a computer. The paperwork included the group’s plan for putting the right politicians in office. The document posted at Big Government leaves no doubt that ACORN is a liberal organization dedicated to assisting the Democratic party. It is interesting the way they describe neighborhoods with Anglos in them (as if that is a bad thing).

Looks like ACORN is in violation of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act which governs how personal information is handled by certain institutions (of which ACORN is one). The documents dumped include credit reports (like the one found here), social security numbers, driver’s license numbers, addresses, dates of birth and all kinds of information that would be very useful to someone interested in stealing an identity.

The fine for failing to safeguard this information is $100,000 per incident. Since there are tens of thousands of papers containing tens and thousands of breaches of personal information, ACORN should be bankrupt and out of business when they get done with the fines.

I am amazed at the number of people who continue to defend this organization. It is rotten to the core and just when you think you have seen it all a new item pops up to expose them even more.

This group is a bunch of community organizing thugs who break or skirt the law in order to advance a political agenda just like their former mentor, Barack Obama or B-HO, as it were.

Each day Breitbart releases another item that exposes the corruption of ACORN.

He has promised that if the Attorney General does not launch a serious investigation then a lot of stuff will be released before the 2010 election.

That’s one way to take down the Democrats. Take down their community organizing firm.

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/more-acorn-criminal-activity/.

ACORN is a group that claims to be a bunch of community organizers (who once had Barry Obama working with them) who look out for the downtrodden and make sure that people are registered to vote and have access to government (read taxpayer) money. The reality is that they are a partisan organization devoted to promoting liberal ideas and they do it with millions of taxpayer dollars.

There were plenty of allegations of voter fraud and ACORN ducked most of it with ruses about self reporting and pointing out that a few bad apples don’t spoil the whole bunch, a claim that some of the liberals like to make.

Then we had a few videos where ACRON employees worked to get a home loan for a prostitute and pimp who planned on pimping out underage girls from South America. We were told that these were flukes and that the video was doctored. Then more videos came out. The big cheeses at ACORN denied what had happened and said that the pimp and prostitute were thrown out of the office. Then the video was aired and it showed that claim to be a lie.

As ACORN claimed to have gotten rid of the bad apples in these so called isolated incidents, more videos were released. The people making the films claim there are more to come even though they are the ones being sued over the entire mess. Regardless, they have shown ACORN as the corrupt organization that it is and as more videos are released this organization will be buried. Rumor has it that a bunch of stuff will be released prior to the 2010 elections. Won’t that be fun?

Looks like ACORN is at it again. The Attorney General of California gave the San Diego office a heads up that their office would be visited so ACORN did what many criminals do, they got rid of evidence. But, a private detective who was keeping track of them watched as some workers in the San Diego office threw away 20,000 papers. The PI retrieved those papers from a dumpster.

Among those papers were tax documents, employment records and applications, all containing personally identifying information. The papers contain names, addresses, social security numbers and driver’s license numbers, all the things a criminal would need to steal identities.

Besides the criminal behavior of failing to safeguard private information, what else might those papers contain? Perhaps we will see illegals who were hired? Maybe we can see company documents that spell out what they actually do. Breitbart reports that some of the documents clearly demonstrate that ACORN is not a non partisan group and that they work for the Democrats.

ACORN’s political agenda is also exposed, with thousands upon thousands of documents revealing the depth of the political machine that is ACORN, and its disturbing ties to not only public employee labor unions but some of the most radical leftist organizations. Big Government

This organization is full of liberal criminals who work to advance the agenda of their liberal masters in DC. They are community organizers in the mold of Alinsky and Obama, radicals who want to change America.

Breitbart is going to keep releasing ACORN incriminating things all the way up to election day and bury the left with its own Frankenstein.

Now that will be fun.

Any bets that any investigation by Congressional Democrats will determine that ACORN offices need paper shredders?

Copyright © 2012 Big Dog. Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/democrats-campaign-for-third-party-candidate-in-new-jersey/.

The Democrats in New Jersey are campaigning for Independent candidate Chris Daggett. The robocalls are from the New Jersey Democratic State Committee and are telling voters to vote for Daggett. This, of course, is a means to an end and the end is a win for Corzine. Corzine is despised by a large number of the people in New Jersey but since it is a heavily Democratic state, they are having trouble with their vote. They do not want to vote for Corzine but Christie has an “R” next to his name and they have been trained that they are never to punch that button.

The Democrats are trying to get those who decide not to support Corzine to vote Daggett so that they can split the votes and Corzine will win. Once can discuss the ethical implications and the dirty tricks appearance of this but that is for another time. I am zeroed in on two different messages that are generated from this tactic.

The first is, the Democrats know Corzine is a slug, a poor candidate, and not well liked but they want him to win nonetheless so they can keep their stranglehold on the state. So they had to come up with a plan to help him win and since he is not good enough to win on his merits or his record they had to trick voters. By asking people who will not vote for Corzine to vote for Daggett they are effectively getting people who take that path to vote for Corzine.

Folks will think they voted against the man but a vote for Daggett is effectively a vote for Corzine or the Democrats would not be doing this. This can only help Corzine or it would not be the tactic. Democrats want to win, not lose.

People in New Jersey, what does it say about Corzine that his own party would ask you to vote for some other candidate instead of trying to convince you he deserves your vote? How miserable is he that they would ask you to vote for someone else?

On top of that, and the second item, is how stupid do they think the voters are? They are calling you and telling you that if you are upset with Corzine then please vote for this other person. Do they think you are dumb enough to believe that they are not doing this to get Corzine elected? Do they really think you are that stupid and shouldn’t you be angered by their portrayal of you?

It would actually be kind of funny if this plan backfired and Daggett won. It would serve them right for this kind of deception.

As you folks in New Jersey head to the polls keep this in mind. This sleezy tactic is coming from the party of the guy who is already your governor, the guy who has had an administration full of this kind of sleeze. If you vote for him or for Daggett then you are saying that you condone this kind of thing and are happy no matter what they do to you.

You have been hammered with high taxes and high unemployment not to mention the corruption.

The question is, do you want more of the same?

You know you will get it. Look at what they are doing to win…

When Corzine was sworn in he asked you to hold him accountable. Today is the day you get to do that.

Visit the original article at http://www.onebigdog.net/our-presidente/.

Ole- our Resident and his little scuzzy socialistas want to grant amnesty to all the illegals here now, indeed, they wouldn’t mind if more came in- cheap work forces are hard to come by, especially if you have a sheriff who is arresting the potential work force. That is why, at the behest of several groups who are invested in the “legality” of these people, the federal government, in this case the Department of Homeland Security, has taken the Federal powers to arrest and detain illegal aliens from Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Arizona.

A controversial Arizona sheriff known for taking a hard line against illegal immigrants has been stripped of some of his powers in what he described as a political move by the Obama administration.

Joe Arpaio, a gruff lawman who styles himself as America’s toughest sheriff, has won acclaim from US anti-immigrant forces for his relentless pursuit of mostly Hispanic illegal immigrants in Maricopa county, Arizona, a fast-growing county of 4 million people that is home to Phoenix, the nation’s fifth largest city.

Arpaio’s aggressive tactics include the jailing of illegal immigrants in tent cities surrounded by barbed wire in the middle of Arizona’s searingly hot summers, the reduction of meal costs to 20 cents per day, the use of pink jail clothing for men, and chain gangs for women inmates.

guardian.co.uk

Good for him- the purpose of jail or prison is to punish the offender, not be a vacation destination- as far as I am concerned, if you offend, you lose some of your “rights”- like the “right” to air conditioning, TV, and other privileges that people in the outside world take for granted. The fact that Sheriff Joe can put these people in tents, dress them in pink, and feed them baloney sandwiches is and should be viewed as a part of their punishment. If the prisoners don’t like it, so much the better.

Under a two-year-old agreement with the federal department of homeland security, Arpaio and his deputies had been authorised to enforce federal immigration law by arresting suspected illegal immigrants in the field and by checking the immigration status of people arrested on other offences.

But after drawing thousands of complaints and a civil rights investigation from the justice department, Arpaio was this week stripped of his federal authority to make immigration arrests. County attorney Andrew Thomas, one of Arpaio’s supporters, condemned the “setback in the fight against illegal immigration”.

For his part Arpaio has promised to continue chasing illegal immigrants using state laws. In an angry press conference, he called US homeland security officials “liars” and said he would personally drive those caught on the streets to the border if federal officers refused to take arrested illegal immigrants into custody. “I’ll take a little trip to the border and turn them over to the border,” he said.

.guardian.co.uk

Heck, if I lived there, I’d volunteer to drive them back- that’s only fair. They do not belong here. Their first illegal act, was crossing the border. Mexico has a more stringent immigration policy than we do- how crazy is that?

“The department of homeland security is making a historic mistake if it continues its relationship with Sheriff Joe Arpaio,” said Paco Fabian, spokesman for immigration reform advocacy group America’s Voice. “The federal government is lending its full force and legitimacy to a rogue cop certain to go down in history as a serial violator of civil rights and an enemy of the Latino community.”

An estimated 12 million illegal immigrants live in the US. The federal government is virtually paralysed over how to react, with conservatives like Arpaio calling for the arrest and deportation of illegal immigrants and increased border enforcement. Obama, many Democrats and some Republicans call for a system that will allow most to gain legal status after paying a fine and learning English, but reform efforts in 2006 and 2007 withered under sustained rightwing opposition.

guardian.co.uk

Imagine that- a Hispanic against the Sheriff- I guess Paco still has family that haven’t made it over yet. Hopefully they never do- then Paco and his family could visit the old country and the rest of his family, hopefully for an extended period of time.

The plain fact is that if we eliminated all illegal employment in the agricultural fields, our produce cost would rise by about eight dollars a year. A lot of this has to do with a more mechanical approach to harvesting, and also because most of our frozen produce comes from other countries now. In a recent search of my freezer, not a one of ten bags of frozen veggies came from the US.

So what good do the illegals do? Not a thing, in the end. Well- they do make for good news copy, as they slaughter themselves in great numbers. Indeed, there are seven violent crime stories involving spanish surnames to every one of any other race or nationality, every day in the local Houston paper. That is just a fact, as sorry as it may be.

Unlike other immigrants, they are not assimilating into the American culture, indeed they are actively encouraged not to, with ESL being taught, and exceptions being made for those who don’t speak english. Why? That just enables these people to keep crippling along as second class citizens, a sub culture that does nothing positive for our society, instead, making problems for our society that we have to stop and try to fix.

This is a segment of society that if we cannot control and assimilate seamlessly into our society, we need to cast out- their adherence to smuggling drugs and people cause them to be, as a group, much more dangerous, as they will not even try to clean up the bad actors who give them a bad reputation in their society, and thus our society.

If they don’t want to be a part of our society, and indeed they have shown repeatedly by their nationalism, their Mexican flag waving, and refusal to learn any more than rudimentary english that they do not, then they must go home.

Even your best friend can overstay his or her welcome, and they have overstayed theirs.
