From Watergate To Water Under The Bridge

The Washington Post went after Richard Nixon and the cover up of the Watergate break in. Reporters Woodward and Bernstein were relentless and they finally got the goods. Their pursuit of the truth led to the resignation of Richard Nixon.
While there is evidence to indicate Nixon was not the one doing the bad things the reality is the blame fell on him and he ended up resigning. This never would have happened if The Post had not investigated. They, if you are to believe them, looked to expose government corruption.
If Nixon had not been forced to resign under threat of impeachment it is hard to imagine The WaPo would have ignored all of it and endorsed him for office (he was in his second term and could not run again but if he could it is hard to imagine The WaPo would ignore it and endorse him).
The WaPo though is no longer interested in government corruption. Truth is The WaPo was never interested in it when it involved a Democrat. Can you recall any in depth investigation into Bill Clinton’s sexcapades?
Hillary is corrupt. She has a long history of lying, doing illegal things, lying some more and then getting away with her misdeeds. There is no doubt about this and one only need look as far as her server and email issue to see it. She set up the server to avoid having her emails archived per the LAW. She did it for one reason, to skirt the law. Then when she got caught she deleted over 30 thousand emails that had been subpoenaed. That was also a violation of the law.
Hillary supporters will tell you that she was cleared of any wrong doing but that too is a lie. She was not prosecuted for her wrong doing. The FBI director laid out a case of point by point issues where Hillary Clinton broke the law. He also showed where she had lied about classified information and it has been shown that she lied to Congress. Amazingly, the FBI director decided not to push for charges claiming no reasonable prosecutor would indict such a case.
Maybe in his world that is true. It also helped that the Attorney General met with Hillary’s hubby and that these folks are all liberals. The fix was in and the reasonable prosecutor claim was the nothing more than the No True Scotsman fallacy. Plenty of prosecutors would have taken the case.
In any event, The WaPo has ignored all of the evidence of corruption and endorsed Hillary Clinton for president. Hillary made Nixon look like a piker and the very same newspaper that relentlessly pursued Nixon over government corruption is ignoring the mountains of evidence showing the corruption of Clinton and endorsing her.
They toppled Nixon.
They want to elect Clinton.
And this folks, is why most people do not take them seriously and why newspapers are going the way of the Dodo.

The Art Of The Khan

Before I begin I want to say that CPT Khan was a hero and he died fighting for America. There has never been any question about that regardless of how the media portray what has been said. No one has dishonored the service and sacrifice of CPT Khan. The important takeaway is HIS sacrifice.
Khizr Khan, CPT Khan’s father, sacrificed nothing. Let me be clear, he sacrificed nothing. The sacrifice was solely CPT Khan’s. The Khan’s suffered a loss and we grieve with them and empathize with them for their loss but it is a loss, not a sacrifice. Saying that the family of a dead service member sacrificed is like saying the family of a Medal of Honor recipient earned that medal. We service members and veterans take our own decisions and the sacrifices made (as well as the awards earned) belong to us and us alone.
Mr. Khan’s attack on Donald Trump at the Democrat convention was based on Trump’s assertion that we needed to stop Muslims from countries that support terrorism from coming to America until we could figure out what was going on. In other words, put a halt to this until we can determine what kind of people are coming in. We need to make sure the kind of people that killed CPT Khan are not allowed into this country.
The attack had nothing to do with CPT Khan and HIS sacrifice. Khizr made a slim connection by saying his son, a Muslim, served honorably and Trump would keep people like him out but this is part of the false narrative. CPT Khan is the kind of person who would have been allowed in (if, you know, he were not ALREADY and American citizen). Trump wants to keep out the kind of people who killed him so the argument from Khizr is false.
There has been a firestorm over Trump’s reaction to Mr. Khan. I personally think there were many better ways Trump could have responded that would have made a point in his favor without directly attacking Mr. Khan. Make no mistake, Khizr Khan went on national TV and berated a candidate for the presidency so at that point he became fair game. The fact that he lost a son in the war does not give him blanket protection. He is responsible for what he said and his hero son’s death is not a shield to keep him from being held responsible.
But Trump could have handled it better. This, of course, is why the Khan’s were paraded out in the first place. The Democrats used them to score political points because they knew full well Trump would respond and their supporters (as well as a large portion of the electorate) would be too stupid to see all of this. All they needed was a compliant media to start a lie that Trump attacked a Gold Star family and dishonored their hero son and the bait was set. Liberals and many establishment Republicans took it hook line and sinker and the firestorm over Trump began.
It was a con game from the beginning. Hell, one only needs to look at Khizr Khan’s background and what he does to know he is a liberal who works to bring Muslims into this nation and he thinks Sharia Law trumps (see what I did there) the very Constitution he waved around on stage. He aligns himself with the party that does not give a rodent’s derriere about his son or any other service member and then plays the victim when he is taken to task for his politically motivated speech. You know it is a con game when the families of the Benghazi victims are treated horribly by Hillary Clinton and not a word is said but Khizr is taken to task by Trump and boom, suddenly she and the liberals care about those who sacrificed their lives for America.
If Khan’s motivations were not political then he would embrace Trump’s plan because it is designed to deny the kind of people who killed his son from coming here.
But that would be bad for Khizr’s immigration business….
As for Donald Trump, he would probably benefit from an old idea called thinking before you speak, or tweet, as the case may be.
There are plenty of ways to tell people to go have sex with themselves and have them leave wanting to actually do it.
Trump knows the art of the deal, perhaps he should learn the art of tact. Remember Donald, being tactful is not political correctness.
Imagine if Trump had responded by saying; “I understand their grief and I am sorry for their loss. I would think they would support a plan such as mine that ensures the kind of people who killed their son are prevented from entering our great nation. God bless.”
We would probably be talking about something else and Mr. Khan would not be all over the TV continuing the con.
In short Mr. Trump, if you get beat you get beat but don’t get beat because you gave your enemy the weapon that caused your demise.

Hillary, A Wealth Of Stupidity

Hillary Clinton is in general election mode. She figures she has Sanders beaten and the nomination is hers so she has turned her focus to Donald Trump, who she must figure will be the GOP nominee.
Hillary went on the attack and bashed Trump for his wealth. She claimed that he could not fly in on his private jet, give a speech and fly out on that jet back to his luxury homes and expect to know how regular people live.
There is no doubt that Trump is very wealthy. He talks about his wealth quite a bit so it would be hard to overlook. But Trump made his money as a businessman in the private sector. It matters not how he got the seed money, the reality is he earned it in private business.
Now Hillary, on the other hand, made her money only after she and her hubby served in public office. Remember, Hillary told us that she and Bill were dead broke and owed a lot of money when they left the White House. Now they have a combined wealth of over 100 MILLION dollars. All that money was earned after they were in office and as a result of their elected positions.
It is beyond me how Hillary can go after Trump for flying in a private jet when Hillary flies around in private jets. It is beyond me how she can talk of Trump’s luxurious homes when she and Bill own several very nice residences.
All the things Hillary claims put Trump out of touch are the very same things she has or does. Admittedly, the amount of money the Clinton’s have pales in comparison to what Trump has but he earned his and he is spending it (his own money) on his campaign. Bill and Hillary spend very little of their own money and win lose or draw she will be sending out emails after the election in November begging people to contribute to pay off her campaign debt. She had over 100 million in wealth in 2008 and begged people to pay off the millions she owed for her failed campaign.
The Clintons are a work of crappy art. Only liberal morons like those two (and throw in the daughter who makes hundreds of thousands for doing very little) could live the life of royalty on money “earned” as a result of public service and then turn around and slam a rich guy who earned his money in the private sector.
This is no different than Sanders screaming about the unfair tax system that favors the rich while he, a wealthy man, writes off everything he can to avoid paying the taxes he wants everyone else to pay.
For the life of me I can’t figure why anyone would vote for this woman. I am baffled by Sanders supporters but Hillary’s supporters are even more troubling because they have decades of her antics to look at before they decide.
None of her criminal behavior keeps people from considering her.
She claims Trump is out of touch because of his wealth and the life he lives but how in touch can she be if she is doing the same things as he?
Only a liberal could get rich off public service and then smear a rich guy who earned his money in business.
Class warfare and hypocrisy. Without them liberals would dry up and blow away.

Bernie Says Hill Breaking Law

With all the attention focused on the infighting in the Republican party the fighting among the two old white Democrat candidates has not received as much press, at least until recently. Sanders and Clinton have been steadily increasing their attacks on each other. They claim not to run negative campaigns but they are really going after each other.
The debate last Thursday was a demonstration of how far south things have gone between the two Democrats.
The New York primary is tomorrow and the polls indicate that Clinton is leading but the race has tightened. With that tightening race comes new accusations by Sanders that Clinton is violating campaign finance laws. The full details are in the linked article and if the allegations are true then it would appear she is breaking the law.
Is that a shock? Hillary has been breaking the law for decades so why would anyone think she would follow it now?
Ever since the Clintons started their public lives they have been involved in scandal after scandal. If the history of the Clintons involved an accusation or two one might dismiss them as politics but with these two everything they are involved in results in accusations of criminal activity. Hillary is the focus at the present because she is running for the presidency.
So did she do it? Probably but if her history is any indication then she has put several layers between her and the activity so that she has plausible deniability.
Sanders is probably right on this one but Hillary will never face the music because she is not the only criminal involved. She has most of the Democrat party as accomplices.
So while she wants a term of four years I think twenty-five to life is more appropriate.

Free At The Expense Of Others

The young liberals in this nation (and many other liberals for that matter) are thrilled right now to support Bernie Sanders, a Socialist who is three quarters of a century old. They like what he says because he promises them everything for free. Liberals love free stuff. The voters love to get free stuff and politicians love to give free stuff away.
Bernie wants college and health care (among other things) to be FREE!!!!!
[note]In this context we mean free as in at no cost. This does not include free when used to mean unrestrained or unencumbered.[/note]
The government always uses the word free. Get a cellphone for free. This poster available from OSHA for free. Get free vaccines. Get free housing, free food, free, free, free….
One problem with all this is that nothing is free. There is a cost associated with everything, the issue at hand is, who pays?
For the schemes Sanders and Clinton, and to be inclusive, O’Malley (polling at 3%), espouse the person receiving the product or service would not pay for it. It would be paid for by the taxpayer. So in reality it is not free, it is at no cost to the person.
Remember now, Obamacare was supposed to bend the cost curve and make heath care affordable. There was never a claim of free, just affordable. The reality is people are paying more now than they did before and a lot of folks are doing without because the tax/penalty is cheaper.
Bernie will fix that by making health care free. He wants single payer put in place because he is a Socialist. He wants a Medicare system in place extended to all. Medicare is the least efficient and most expensive health care system there is (a lot of cost that the free market carriers incur are not counted by government as it relates to Medicare because the costs are absorbed by government – read taxpayer).
In any event I think there should be a prohibition on the use of the word free unless it is being used to mean something other than no cost as in the hostages are free, the chicken is free range, etc. I propose that anytime a politician or government entity wants to use the word free (as in “at no cost”) they instead be required to use the term “at taxpayer expense”.
This way Bernie would have to say college will be available to you at taxpayer expense. Health care will be available at taxpayer expense. The poster would not read this is available from OSHA for free it would read this poster is available from OSHA at taxpayer expense.
We need to start calling it what it really is so the reality sets in particularly among the young generation. Don’t get me wrong, plenty of older liberals hear free and think no one has to pay for it but many of them are too far gone and only know the mantra that taxes ON THE RICH need to be raised.
The young liberals find a stark reality when they are forced to pay taxes. The young folks get out of taxpayer provided school and get jobs where they pay taxes. That is when they learn that it was not really free after all.
By that time it is too late and a system is in place that will hasten the economic collapse of this once great nation (the debt clock is at 19 TRILLION).
There is no such thing as a free lunch. If Bernie Sanders (or nearly any other politician) puts his arm around you and tells you there is protect your wallet because that is where his other hand is located….
