NBC and Tom Brokaw have expressed displeasure with Mitt Romney for using footage from the 1990s, featuring Brokaw, in ads attacking Newt Gingrich. I read comments posted and people say NBC is imposing on the right to free speech. People are upset that Brokaw and NBC would request Romney to cease and desist.

The most important thing about this is that it is not a free speech issue.

However, Barack Obama used Brokaw in an ad when he was running in 2008 and NBC sent him a cease and desist order as well. In this particular case Brokaw is acting no differently toward the Republican than he did the Democrat. It is easy to see how folks would not see this since the MSM is overwhelmingly liberal and has protected Democrats (particularly Obama) from day one.

What should bother people is Brokaw’s stated reason for not wanting Romney using the clip:

I am extremely uncomfortable with the extended use of my personal image in this political ad. I do no want my role as a journalist compromised for political gain by any campaign. Politico

Who in their right mind thinks of Brokaw as a journalist? That would require objective reporting and proper vetting of political candidates. It would require an allegiance to the public and upholding the tradition of the media being a watchdog for the people of this country.

Brokaw is another member of the media wing of the Democrat party and he has failed to act as a journalist.

A commentator, sure, but in no way a journalist…

We already know that Barack Obama’s call for civility was aimed only at the right. In his mind and the minds of his party it is the right that causes violence and that violence is the result of right wing talk. Of course this is pure bunk. The acts of violence we have seen have come from liberals as union thugs beat people. One liberal bit the finger off a TEA Party member and the whack job who shot Gabby Giffords was a liberal.

The violence on the left does not stop them from pointing fingers to the right and accusing peaceful people of committing violence. When one calls for civility it is expected that the call is for everyone to be civil. That is obviously not the case as Barack Obama ignores the violent rhetoric from the left.

Maxine Waters said the TEA Party could go straight to hell and Andre Carson said that TEA Party members of Congress would like to lynch black people.

One hears crickets chirp waiting for Barack Obama to ask these people to be civil.

This past weekend came with more uncivil talk and calls for violence against the TEA Party. Union thug and Teamster President Jimmy Hoffa called the TEA Party “sons of bitches” and said that working America was at war with them. He told Barack Obama, who spoke later at the event, that the union thugs stood at the ready to take the TEA Party out. Never mind that the TEA Party represents working America. Unions represent about 14% of the workforce and unions are a dying breed. This does not stop thugs like Hoffa from calling for violence against fellow Americans. Hoffa is anti TEA Party and anti American.

Did Obama denounce the violent rhetoric? No and he probably won’t. If union thugs get violent and harm TEA Party members Obama would remain quiet unless he could find a way to blame the violence on the right. In his world, the ends justify the means so long as the left is getting what it wants. To Obama violence is OK as long as it is perpetrated against the right. Perceived violence against the left demands a speech on civility.

Obama’s own Vice President, the brain damaged Joe Biden, gave a speech and he said that labor was under attack. He said that the other side has declared war on labor’s house and they are the only ones keeping the “barbarians at the gate.” The Vice President called the opposition barbarians while one of the union thugs called the TEA Party sons of bitches.

This is the idea of civility on the left. These people are stirring the pot. They are poking a stick in a hornet’s nest and they are provoking millions of hard working, concerned Americans. They want civil unrest to drum up another emergency so they can play it up and win the next election. They want violence from the right and they are well aware that the right does not start the violence so they are in overdrive trying to provoke a response.

While all this is going on Barack Obama ignores it. He is ignoring the violent rhetoric of his own party and supporters because he wants civil unrest.

They had better be careful what they ask for. The right will not start the violence but there are millions of us who will not sit back and be physically attacked. Throw all the verbal insults you want but do us a favor and quit with the faux concern over civility. Quit with the speeches calling for civil behavior when you have no intention of abiding by that for which you call. If you want to use violent rhetoric, go ahead but quit whining when you hear rhetoric you don’t like.

But be forewarned, while we will not start the violence we will not sit back and allow acts of violence to be committed against us. If you want to try to take the “sons of bitches” out you go right ahead but be prepared for backlash like you have never seen.

Mr. Hoffa, you sure talk a tough game. Your old man talked tough a long time ago. Have they found him yet?

The mob that is known as the liberal left is working its people into a frenzy in order to cause civil unrest. Make no mistake about it, this is the game plan. They want civil unrest and uncertainty before the next election. They want chaos and they have no problem with using violence to get what they want.

The right to self defense is never denied and in the struggle for survival against the violent left We the People will do what is necessary to protect our homes, our property, our families and our lives. The left kept poking in the 1960s until it got Kent State. That pretty much ended the violence from the left and made the country safer.

Try to take the sons of bitches out at your own risk. The gates you man have not the strength or the people power to keep the “barbarians” out should you decide to act.

Be careful. Be very, very careful.

I am back online after intermittent internet outages related to Hurricane Irene.

Perhaps the reason so many people have a problem with Barack Obama’s eligibility to hold office**, besides the forged birth certificate and phony Social Security number, is that being in this country illegally is something that runs in his family. First we had Auntie Zeituni Onyango who was here illegally and mooching off the US taxpayer by living in subsidized housing and receiving welfare and now we have Obama’s uncle Onyango Obama who is here illegally.

He was arrested for drunk driving and is in the custody of ICE. He has retained the same lawyer Auntie Zeituni had because Auntie was able to get asylum and remain here in the US so she can continue to sponge off the hard working taxpayers. Looks like Uncle Onyango is looking for a piece of that for himself. Having a relative who occupies the White House is a plus (look how well it worked out for Auntie) so before long Uncle Onyango might be given legal status.

He only drove while intoxicated and that is a misdemeanor so under Barack Obama’s new back door amnesty plan, Uncle Onyango won’t need to be deported. Isn’t that nice? I mean, what kind of danger could a drunk driving illegal pose to society? Well, this one killed a family of four. He was arrested for drunk driving and released back into society. He drove drunk again and killed a family of four.

Yes, I know that there are citizens who drive drunk and kill people. I also know that if the illegals were deported when they were captured then they would not be here to commit further crime. In other words, if the drunk driving illegal had been deported the family would still be alive.

Not to worry though, Obama’s uncle is a responsible man who would never break the law, other than drunk driving and being here illegally but why hold that against him?

He can’t be too bad, he has a real Social Security number which is more than we can say for his well placed nephew.

It seems to be in the blood of the Obama clan to break the law, come to America illegally and to mooch off the taxpayer. Look out or Auntie and Uncle will be taking 10 million dollar vacations on the taxpayer dime…

**Obama admitted he was not natural born when he released the forged birth certificate. His father was not a US citizen and therefore he was not born to two US citizen parents, the definition of natural born citizen under natural law. That is what the Founders were familiar with and used when they referred to “natural born.” Obama voted in favor of the Senate Resolution that agreed that John McCain was natural born based on the definition of the First Congress (though they probably got it wrong). Natural born then meant born to two citizen parents. It means that to this day and it means Obama agreed to the meaning. It also means he is ineligible for the job he has.

Barack Obama’s alien (and British subject) father was here on a student visa and managed to game the system long enough to stay here though he attracted the attention of Immigration officials who were worried about his multiple marriages and “playboy ways.” Obama, possibly to avoid deportation, stated that he intended to put his son up for adoption once he was born.

When he was questioned by the school’s foreign student adviser, the 24-year-old Obama insisted that he had divorced his wife in his native Kenya. Although his new wife, Ann Dunham, was five months pregnant with their child – who would be called Barack Obama II – Obama declared that they intended to put their child up for adoption. Boston.com

No one in the family and none of the friends of Obama Sr’s wife recall any such talk so the speculation is that Obama Sr. stated this to game the system and avoid deportation.

Imagine how much better the country would be had the elder Obama actually carried through with his words. Obama the younger would have made his way to a family and lived a life of relative obscurity and he would likely NOT have been elected.

But, daddy Obama was probably lying to keep his status.

Nancy Pelosi is using the favorite tactic of the left, the method of leadership that defines the morons residing in liberal land and that is to blame George Bush. Pelosi has blamed the Gulf oil spill on Bush (I bet he blew up the oil rig like he did the levees in New Orleans) and says it is the people he put in the positions of oversight who botched this.

“Many of the people appointed in the Bush administration are still burrowed in the agencies that are supposed to oversee the [oil] industry,” Pelosi said when asked if Democrats could have prevented or mitigated the crisis by keeping a closer watch on the industry.

Added the Speaker, “the cozy relationships between the Bush administration’s agency leadership and the industry is clear…I’ve heard no complaints from my members about the way the president has handled it,” Pelosi stated. Washington Examiner

The Examiner asked for the names of these people to whom Pelosi refers but no response was received. Don’t hold your breath waiting for Pelosi to provide them.

No matter who put these people in their jobs (and the one Obama put in was fired or resigned) they work for Obama and the oil spill happened on his watch. If there was no oversight then this too happened on his watch.

He has had 18 months to make changes and get things right (if he thought they were wrong) but he has allowed his point person to botch things, skip inspections, and give awards to oil rigs for the safety displayed.

And if Pelosi has had no complaints from her members then she has not been paying attention. There are some House Democrats who are not happy with Obama and the response. If they did not complain to her directly then she should turn on the news.

Rewriting history is a tactic the left loves.

Here is a newsflash. The public is tired of hearing everything blamed on Bush. There comes a time when the people in power have to accept responsibility and that time has long passed. The public knows who is in charge and who is responsible.

Let us band together to fire Nancy Pelosi from her job as Speaker.

The first, Harry Reid, is no surprise. This lame moron is well past his expiration date:

U.S. Sen. Harry Reid must pick up far more support from crossover Republicans and independents to win re-election, according to a new poll that shows him losing to the GOP front-runner in a full-ballot election with eight contenders and a “none of these candidates” option.

The survey of Nevada voters commissioned by the Review-Journal shows Reid getting 37 percent of the vote compared with 47 percent for Republican Sue Lowden, who would win if the election were today, while the slate of third-party and nonpartisan candidates would get slim to no backing. Las Vegas Review Journal

Reid needs to go and unless something drastic happens, he will be unemployed when the next Congress convenes.

The one that might surprise people is Barbara Boxer of California. There are more Democrats in the state and it leans way left thanks to the heavily populated big liberal cities and the folks from Hollywood. Still Boxer is in trouble:

To Helen Sargent, taxes and the national debt are too high, President Barack Obama has proved a disappointment and the Democratic Party needs new faces.

Given that the three politicians Obama campaigned for lost, two in heavily Democrat areas, I am not sure this is good for Boxer.

And that is just the way I like it.

She might end up winning but right now things look good.

It would be good to see her join Reid at the unemployment office.

Oprah Winfrey is perhaps the best known TV talk show host in America. Each day her show reaches out to pathetic people who have little to do except watch a millionaire tell them how to live. To be fair, she has been generous to her audience giving them a lot of gifts.

Oprah sometimes features authors of books, typically memoirs, and she recommends those books to her audience. Some of them get her book club seal thus giving them more legitamcy, or so some think. Winfrey has been the victim of three hoaxes when books she reviewed with the authors turned out to be complete fabrications.

Rosenblat’s bogus autobiography [Angel at the Fence] is one of several memoirs that have been lauded by Winfrey ["the single greatest love story"] and then later revealed to be frauds — including James Frey’s best-selling “A Million Little Pieces” and Margaret Seltzer’s “Love and Consequences” — consequently calling into question how much weight Winfrey’s future book endorsements will carry. ABC News

Winfrey has played the victim in these incidents and in all honesty there is little she could have done to prevent the hoaxes. How does one go about fact checking memoirs which are based on memories of the writers? Winfrey was fooled like everyone else.

But, the question is how much weight will her future book endorsements carry? Don’t know but her endorsement of Barack Obama carried quite a bit of weight. She was so partial to him that she had him on her show and then claimed she wanted to keep politics out of her program when people called for her to interview Sarah Palin.

Oprah had the opportunity to actually fact check Barack Obama and she decided not to do that or ignored the negatives (like all the media did) and kept right on riding the Obama train. If Obama turns out to be a failure or his presidency does not give everyone all the things he promised then she will not be able to claim that she was duped as she has with regard to the books.

Oprah had plenty of chances to get it right and she ignored the evidence that was right out there. She, along with all the major media, failed to properly vet Obama and now they must work hard to ensure his presidency is a success (maybe that is why she is looking for a house in DC).

Winfrey would have been better off not endorsing. If things go badly she will lose much more credibility than any book hoax could cause. Her future political advice will be looked upon with scorn and people will lose trust in her. Well, except the true morons who hang on her every word.

Oprah was scammed by authors and she scammed some Americans with her endorsement of Obama.

In the overall scheme of things the Obama endorsement will have much greater consequences than the three hoax book endorsements.

Don’t worry Oprah. If you lose your show Obama can use a PR person. Your experience should fit right in to the propaganda machine that he runs.

Frank Rich wrote a piece in the New York Times in which he showed how Barack Obama could win the nomination and stifle the GOP because they would not know how to deal with race. Mr. Rich contends that the GOP has barricaded itself and tends to ignore the black vote, not because they are racists, but because they GOP is saddled with a history that makes it uncomfortable:

But the G.O.P., by its own doing, is nonetheless saddled with a history that most recently includes “macaca” and Katrina, Mr. Bush’s appearance at Bob Jones University in 2000 and the nonexistent black population of its Congressional delegation.

It’s not because those no-shows are racists; it’s because they are defensive and out of touch. With the notable exception of Mike Huckabee, most of the party’s candidates have barricaded themselves from African-Americans for so long that they don’t know how to speak to or about them. I have to disagree with Mr. Rich on these issues because he misses the bigger picture. The GOP is not saddled bad things, it is painted with the broad brush of racism by a slavish media that sees everything GOP as bad and everything from the left as good. Macaca was an unfortunate issue blown out of proportion by a media that refused to give the same attention to the rantings of Cynthia McKinney and her people and who continually ignore the racist and anti Semite words used by the so-called black leaders for fear of alienating them. Katrina involved black people (for the most part) led by a black mayor and a white governor, both of whom happen to be Democrats. The media never took the Democrats in state leadership to task for their inability to protect their people and instead focused their attention on a massive government effort that was delayed while helicopters performed dangerous missions rescuing those the state leadership failed to evacuate. Once again, this was contrived by the media, a media that refused to look at the actual mission of FEMA or the federal government. A media that led people to believe that George Bush was a racist because he and the feds did not don red capes and fly in to save people. This is the same media that actually gave some spotlight to an idiot like Farrakhan and his assertions that the feds blew up the levee to flood black people. This is a media that ignored the corruption that caused money for levee work to be rerouted to gambling interests and it is the same media that ignores the abuse of federal money in Louisiana at this very moment. A media that will focus on contractor waste in Iraq and ignore the graft and corruption in New Orleans. Maybe the reason members of the GOP do not know how to talk about or to blacks is because nearly everything they say is distorted by the media as more evidence of racism. Perhaps Mr. Rich should look into this.

As for blacks and the GOP; why would any black person want to be in the GOP? It is not because the GOP is a bunch of racists or that it treats black people differently. No, these folks do not want to be in the GOP because of the way they are treated by other blacks who have been the recipients of Democratic hand outs for so long that they do not understand self reliance. The dependent blacks will refer to those blacks in the GOP as “Uncle Toms” or sell outs to their race. The GOP welcomes them with open arms, it is the Democratic party and particularly the blacks in the Democratic party that cause them problems.

As for looking at the absence in the Congressional Delegation, let’s do that. First of all about 90% of blacks vote Democratic. There is no secret there and that is why the GOP skipped the debate at Morgan State. Morgan State is a black college and it is located in one of the most liberal states in the union. No debating in the world would help with the people there and any gains made would be negligible. Also, when blacks run for office as members of the GOP they are castigated by other blacks who believe that they must remain Democrats and vote for Democrats or they will be ushered back to a plantation to pick cotton.

Michael Steele ran for the US Senate in Maryland against an old white guy who was a Congressman for years and years. His name is Ben Cardin and he is a Democrat. Steele, a charismatic man who happens to be black and conservative, was shunned by the black voters of this state in favor of an old white guy. So Mr. Rich should explain why it is that blacks (mostly Democrat) shun other blacks in favor of old white guys. The reason that the GOP does not have any blacks in the Congressional Delegation is not because we do not try, it is because blacks overwhelmingly support Democrats and because there are very few blacks who are Republicans so it makes it even more difficult to find a person to run for office. After what Steele went through, why would anyone want to?

No Mr. Rich, the GOP is not out of touch with the black voters in this country. The GOP is well aware of them and is also well aware that the Democrats have convinced them, through years of welfare and other social programs, that the Dems are the party for them and they owe that allegiance. The blacks quickly forget that they are IGNORED right after the election. Then, leading up to elections a bunch of feel good legislation is passed so politicians can say they are the party of minorities. The Democrats buy the votes and then ignore the blacks all over again.

One only needs to ask, how much progress have blacks made in the last 50 years, a time when Democrats have held office as the majority more than Republicans ever have and a time period of huge amounts of money spent on social programs, the same kinds of programs that caused people in New Orleans to be unable to take care of themselves. The highest crime rates is in the black community. Black on black crime (particularly murder) is at an all time high and if it continues there will not be enough young black males to continue the race. The teen pregnancy rate in the black community is very high and the rate of households where there is only one parent is well over 50%. The inner cities, where blacks tend to live, are crime ridden with high unemployment and high incarceration rates.

GOP racism is not the cause of these things. This is because of a breakdown of the black community and disintegration of the black family unit. This is because social programs ostensibly designed to help the black community actually keep them downtrodden and subservient to the Democratic Party. If Obama wants to wake up and find more blacks in college than jail he needs to abandon the idea that social programs will cure the ills of society. Only by looking at the root cause can a solution be devised.

Regardless of that process, it is safe to say that it was not the programs of the GOP that caused the breakdown of the black community. It is also safe to say that until the cycle of dependence is broken the black community will continue to be enslaved to the Democratic party and their plight will be the same. Rich and others can blame the GOP but looking at it as a whole, those minorities who have chosen to be more conservative and joined the Republican party have done well. Colin Powell, Condi Rice, and Clarence Thomas are all blacks who have done well as conservatives (though Powell is the least of the bunch) and they did so based upon their merits, not because of a program.

Those minorities on the left who are successful owe that success to race hustling and class warfare. They maintain power by telling everyone about the racists in the world and claiming victim status. They also make money by keeping those they are supposed to represent down rather than helping them achieve something.

Mr. Rich, there are many problems in this country with race and the image of the GOP might be a problem but it is not one that will ever be erased as long as the black community refuses to remove the shackles placed on them by the left and embrace the idea that they can achieve without being attached to the government teat.
