She Should Have Been The President

Rapper Kimberly Jones aka Lil’ Kim was sentenced to 1 year plus 1 day in jail and fined $50,000 for lying to a Grand Jury. I think that a year in jail is a bit harsh for lying to the Grand Jury. Hell, cops lie to suspects all the time and the Supreme Court has said that it is Constitutional for them to do so in order to get information. Why is it that a person can not lie to the Grand Jury to protect themselves? Of course I am playing a bit because I do not advocate lying to the Grand Jury. If you do not want to talk you can invoke your 5th Amendment rights. You have the right not to incriminate yourself so Kim should have done so. Actually, she was trying to protect friends. Now where are they?

This is a strange case. I want to know where Jesse Jackson is? I want to know where Al Sharpton is? I want to know where the ACLU is? I want to know why they are not outraged and protesting that this young black girl was sentenced to a year in jail for lying to a Grand Jury when a white man who lied to the Grand Jury was not required to spend one day in jail, he was allowed to keep his job, and he made millions writing a book of lies. Yes, William Jefferson Clinton lied to the Grand Jury and he got off butterfly free. Why are the voices who shout so loudly when a minority is wronged not shouting about this? Why is the media not jumping all over this? Is it another case of media bias by silence like Surfside points out?

I guess Lil’ Kim is just not the right kind of peeps for the righteous gang to defend. Perhaps if she had slept with Clinton rather than the (late) Notorious B.I.G., she might have walked.

BTW, didn’t Martha Stewart go to jail for 6 months for lying about stock trades? A woman and a minority woman served more time than a sitting President who lied to a Grand Jury and the country.
