Senate Standard

This statement is so telling:
While I stand behind my firm belief that I have not violated any law, rule, or standard of conduct of the Senate…
And yet, Mr. Ensign (and I used that title quite loosely) apparently admitted that he had an affair with a married woman (while he was married, too, in case that wasn’t clear).
In other words, the standard of conduct of United States Senators absolutely includes having affairs with married people. I wonder if it is a requirement for membership, or just an accepted standard of conduct?
Well, what about doing or saying anything to get reelected no matter how big a lie it is and how much damage it does to this country and the people just because they want the money? What about getting elected in order to deliberately bring this nation down because basically they hate everything it stands for?
Oh yea, what about stealing more and more of our money and giving it to whomever they think needs it? and lately a lot of it has been going to other countries.
I used to be just like that when I was a Senator.
Victoria — all standard policies and procedures for United States Senators. If they actually put something in their code of conduct that ousted Senators for lying, there wouldn’t be a single one of them left.
Much, much worse — I bet if you asked every one of them if they were liars, they would swear up and down they were the most honest people in the world.
