Ron Paul

Supporters of Ron Paul for president have been bombing on line polls to give the impression that their candidate has more support than he really does. Fox news conducted a post debate poll that showed Paul placed second to Romney and the people at Fox found that quite interesting to say the least. Little Green Footballs had a straw poll and it was obvious that it was bombed by Paul supporters who got very upset that this mean nothing poll would dare claim they cheated.

Linkfest Haven, the Blogger's Oasis

Ron Paul has some good ideas but he is not presidential material. I believe he had the right to answer his questions as he saw fit and that he should not be excluded form further debates. The whole idea of having debates is to listen to what the candidates have to say and for the voters to decide who they wish to support. It is not a Conservative principle to silence those with whom we disagree. That is what the Democrats do though with the recent immigration amnesty bill it is getting much harder to tell the difference between the parties.

Fred Thompson has not entered the race and if he intends to he is playing his hand quite well. He has gotten a boatload of publicity and has not had to spend one dime and he has not had to raise any money. He is teasing the public and if he plays it right will get in just as the public is ready to climax so that people, in their excitement, will donate and donate big. He will do well in any debate and give the rest of the field, including Paul (despite his poll bombers) a run for their money.

Ron Paul and all the others who are running for the Republican nomination are the reason we need Fred. The candidates on the Democratic side are the reason we need him more than ever.

Don’t agree? Leave a comment and tell me why.

Yep, the support of Ron Paul is nothing but an illusion. I mean, who on Earth would want to vote for someone who actually believes in conservative principles. He wants to cut entire Departments out of our federal nanny state ~ oh the humanity.

    /sarcasm off

    Gotcha! Ron Paul in ’08.

  2. Dar says:

Almost a month ago I became interested in the Ron Paul campaign and I’m now a Ron Paul supporter. When I run across a poll, I participate. (Well, I don’t if it seems the poll was intended for some select group and I’m outside that group.) I don’t think of that as bombing. Maybe, I don’t understand the word. I see no reason to abstain from voting if Ron Paul has high scores. I don’t understand why people would expect me to.

I don’t know what all the fuss is about. The online community is not the same as the population called in the usual telephone polls. Of course, the numbers are different. Right now Ron Paul seems to be getting about 1% in those telephone polls (3% in NH). Online the numbers are higher. The best course is to see if the online interest translates to general interest over the next few months. Also, Ron Paul supporters seem to be more likely to take time out to vote or to text a vote.

In my opinion, there is no need for a cry of “cheating.” There is no conspiracy. It’s just some people excited about their candidate.

  3. Roste says:

We Must All Realize that Ron Paul seems strange only because we have gotten so far off track. The People of this Nation are in love with Ron Paul because Mr. Paul votes and acts like our founding fathers. America became great because of our Constitution and our Founding Father’s courage. They setup the template for our rise to greatness. Ron Paul is Absolutely Presidential Material. He is tough, intelligent, very experienced, and has an excellent debate style and presence on stage and on camera. Why would anyone dislike a President WHO BELIEVES IN INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS. We are overtaxed and the government wastes our hard earned money everyday.

We need Ron Paul because this country is falling apart. We are just about bankrupt and we are making enemies on a daily basis. Lets show the world that America still believes in freedom, lets support Ron Paul and get this great man ELECTED!!!!!!!!!!

  4. dogster says:

The democrats will win a bloodbath in 2008 if the Republicans run another neo-con like Fred Thompson or Giuliani.

The neocons used the republicans to do a military expedition in the Middle East while the voters are opposed 70%. Now, they will shift their support to Hillary, who, if elected, will continue the military occupation.

The only option for the people is a populist like Ron Paul who will take the Republican party back from the globalist elites.

  5. khfn says:

I don’t get it. All I did was watch the debates and vote. How is it my fault that there are other people who felt the same way? You’re acting like this was cheating. You know, if anyone else was supportive of the other candidates they could have phoned in a vote too. Stop making excuses for your candidates failure to rile instant support.

I see a poll and I vote. Where’s the “bombing”?????

  7. R Scott says:

I probably disagree with you on every sentence that you wrote, except immigration bill issue. I will explain some facts to you that state my opinion.

    1. you wrote “RP is bombing on line polls”
He does so well in online polls because he has massive supporters who are Internet users. Ron Paul is only Republican candidate that has made numerous public statements that “Government should keep its hands off it”. Common sense tells me he is going to build a large following of E-Voters, hence greater online poll success.

    2. You Wrote: “Fox news conducted a post debate poll that showed Paul placed second to Romney”

First of all this was a text message poll, so his techy following could easily be transferred over. But if you watch the debate he was the only candidate saying something fresh to the ears of the common conservative voter that hasn’t been felt since Ronald Reagan.

Secondly, Ron Paul was winning the text message poll and getting 30% of all voters most of the evening with final votes with Romney 27% Paul 26%, but this was after Sean Hannity started a biased assault against the educated opinions of Ron Paul. I challenge you to look at what the CIA and all 911 commission reports said about America’s involvement as being probable causal to 911 attack. Ron Paul was informed and Giuliani offered nothing but another sermon to the “911 choir”… I’m assuming from the video that I watched, on Giulian’s website, showing him thanking SC firefighers who were in audiance for the cheering that he had a supportive choir like Ron Paul did with online polling. Shouldn’t you make a statement that “Giuliani has more support than he really does” too?

I support Ron Paul cause he is asking the tough questions that I would expect my trusted representative fiduciary responsibility.

    1. Why were we attacked?
    2. Why did Rumsfeld broker a deal in 1982 to
Saddam Huessein to sell mustard gas against
    Iran?
    3. Why can’t we get an honest politician who inquires to search for the truth instead of
    some corporate backed multi-millionaire?
    4. I want George Bush to tell his relationship
with the Bin Laden family and why he says now
he doesn’t care to find him?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Professional_life_of_George_W._Bush

Lastly, I support your respect for Fred Thompson especially on the issue of immigration bills, but if he isn’t in the race, we can only support Ron Paul who is the only true conservative candidate brave enough to fight for our liberty and a constitutional republic. I think you have great instincts Big Dog and hope you will use them to join Ron Paul for President as he is really the only candidate who will beat the democrats. And you don’t want HillaryCare looking out for your health?

  8. Big Dog says:

I can only tell you what I have read about the polls. Seems some folks disconnect long enough to get a new IP and then vote again. I don’t care because Internet polls are worthless. The point was that the Paul supporters get very upset at the hint there might be something amiss. They called Charles Johnson at LGF every name in the book and that is not how it is supposed to work.

If you like the guy, great. I like some of what he says as well. I think he is dead wrong on a few issues but I like some of the other things he says and I like Constitutionalists. I like Thompson who is as Conservative and tougher on our enemies. You will notice I made no mention of the answer to the debate with regard to how I felt about it other than to say he had the right. The post was about Paul not Rudy but since you mentioned it I think Rudy was full of crap to say he had never heard of such a theory. I have heard it though I will say that just because it is in the 9/11 report does not make it correct. It is one of many theories.

  9. DJ says:

Ron Paul is just another “blame America first” idiot. Spam all the polls you want (supporters) but he will never become the Republican nominee. We are in a war that he (and the Democrats/socialists/leftists) doesn’t recognize and is not capable of, since he thinks the United States is the problem. Wake up. Islamists are trying to take over the world.

Your statements are libelous since no one bombed any polls…they were valid Flash and Cell phone polls. The only polls he lost were those where he was left out.

How do you think this statement “Supporters of Ron Paul for president have been bombing on line polls to give the impression that their candidate has more support than he really does” would stand up in court?

    Not very well.

BiGDog – I read your post and I have seen a few like it that seem to think Ron Paul supporters are spam-ing or trying to cheat. I sincerely hope this is not the case. I am a supporter and I voted *once* each in the FoxNews text poll and the MSNBC poll.
I hope my fellow Ron Paul supporters will agree that integrity and fairness should be of utmost importance in our support of Ron Paul b/c to do otherwise would bring him negative attention. Furthermore, we needn’t react defensively if Ron Paul’s online support is indeed real b/c we’ll have nothing to hide.
I do not fault BigDog for bringing this matter up nor should anyone else – it his right and obligation to bring to the fore matters that may warrant debate.

  18. MikeBoyScout says:

IF the supporters of Ron Paul did “bomb”, then one needs to ask ‘why?’. The answer is not that Paul’s campaign is flush with money, but that his message resonates. His message is different from the others –

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oavMsgOuptU

Fred Thompson may or may not enter the race. And you are correct, the content-empty campaigns of Mitt, Rudy and John may collapse. But at the end of the day the energized electorate are not likely to throw their support to an actor, but to a man with the courage to speak truth to power. Ron Paul is a comer. Like it or not.

  20. And where are the supporters of the other candidates?

Ron Paul has widespread popular support.

As a lifelong Republican, I’ve found the Republican Party Establishment at the top (not the grass roots) sell us out. Alan Keyes who ran in 1996, and 2000 was awesome. However, in 1996 the GOP traitors had him arrested when he arrived at one Debate, the debate went on without him. No charges, for he was innocent, but merely a stall tactic to keep him out of view until the debate ended. Alan Keyes was speaking the traditional platform of abolishing the Marxist graudated income tax and the Federal Reserve.

You sorry suckers who think that G. W. Bush is conservative are idiots. True Conservatives find Ron Paul the man who stands with the platform—and more importantly the US Constitution—with not one other candidate of either party remotly coming close to him.

Perhaps you should Join Rudy Giuliani in a history Lesson from Dwight Eisenhower’s Secretary of Agriculture (who today Sean Hannity and other non-conservatives would love to smear), as well as Dr. W. Cleon Skousen, best selling author, and true conservative, of “The Naked Communist and “The Naked Capitalist.”

  21. Pax says:

Statistically valid random sample polls show RP at 1%.

Statistically invalid, and basically meaningless phone-in and online polls show RP at between 30% and 95%.

I know which I’m inclined to believe.

There is no evidence of anything illegal or even necessarily immoral. But it is blatantly obvious that RP supporters are coordinated and organised with respect to these polls, in a way that distorts the true public perception of the candidate.

  22. You have to acknowledge an out of hand agenda by the mainstream to shut Ron Paul up? You have to acknowledge they had Alan Keyes arrested so as to not have him there to debate in 1996. You have to acknowledge that true coservatives have been thrashed in the mainstream such as Dwight Eisenhower’s Secretary of Agriculture for speaking truth.

You would love a lie and embrace those liars who as Benson points out (in the clip afore mentioned) who have combined against the United States of America.

What is your take on David Rockefeller? Do you as well believe the NeoCons that “all is well” here in America in terms of their fanatic silence or outright attack on any information coming forth of the North American Union?

Rockefeller boasts without fear of reprisal (because too many are stupified by propaganda) of “Conspiring” against the United States and of being part of a “secret cabal” to bring about a “New World.” Those are his words. He published it in his own book “Memoirs” in 2002. How many idiots out there who suck the Sean Hannity propaganda in daily would instantly scream “conspiracy theorist” at the citing of what Rockefeller stated in his very own memoirs?

The mainstream media lies. Given their lies, they will combine to take out Ron Paul, and those who believe, love, or make a lie will seek to impune Ron Paul, and blast his success on-line (which the mainstream can’t censor and monopolize) as merely a phenomenon of some real “acrivist” web users that don’t speak for the majority.

Ron Paul is right on the money with all true conservatives I know, the ones who go to their local caucus meetings and laugh aloud when the party platform is read, realizing that Bush/Cheney is in violation of nearly ever major plank of the platform, not to mention the US Constitution.

Get a load of just what power Rockefeller Has, and yet would you not take his own words seriously about “conspiring” against the United States and of being part of a “secret cabal” that is doing this “conspiring?” Why isn’t your blessed mainstream news giving you those details? Who do you trust, mainstream or the internet on this one?

Here is Dr. W. Cleon Skousen speaking of Rockefeller’s Treason:

  23. I like Thompson. But I like Tancredo too.

  24. Tonya says:

I voted for Ron Paul on the MSNBC poll and the Fox poll. I think that Ron Paul’s supporters are that dedicated. I never got an e-mail saying vote twice or make sure to vote as many times as you can. I think it is the media who is trying to discredit him. If you watch C-SPAN’s Washington Journal, you will see he get’s a lot of phone calls that mention him. Is that his campaign doing that as well? If so they really are quite busy creating all the hype.

  25. Although I don’t care for the party part of politics, Ron Paul should not be left out of any debate yet he might also want to consider that no matter how noble the sentiment, it may harm his party rather than help him. It is better for candidates to draw attention to what is right with them, rather than wrong with their opponents. Again, only in the primary arena when it is party candidate against party candidate.
If you debate on a point that may serve to bolster the opposition party faithful, you are shooting yourself in the foot.
On Thompson (and Gingrich) I still maintain, get in or shut up. His money saving, low risk campaign is no campaign and may hurt his chances in the long run.

No one got instructions to cheat and in fact were told to avoid polls like Savage and Malkin’s friend Pajamas Media that were ‘fixable’, likely done on purpose. In those polls poor coding allowed anyone to vote for one candidate several times. It was done to mock Paul supporters.

I admit no such thing. Those who run such polls have their opinions. I believe that many people voted more than once. The fact is, this happens all the time and that is why on line polls are unscientific. I believe that many of Paul’s supporters voted many times that is why there is such disparity. I am not saying they do not have that right but they should not rely on these polls as wide ranging support.
