Pelosi conveniently omits the fact that the Dems have had the Congressional majority since the 2006 midterms. Now that they are about to take possession of the White House and there will still be a Congressional majority for the Dems she is quite content with all the economic turmoil and what she views as a mandate to spend, spend, spend.

I don't see the GOP having the stones to stay united and avoid massive spending. Hell, we're already using trillions to describe each spending bill.

Maybe the 'change' Obama alluded to was both parties crippling this country financially.

You'd think someone from San Francisco would know the meaning of the term "bi"...

I have raised my son to believe that America is the greatest country in the world and despite what he hears or sees in the news that Americans are, for the majority, good, decent and smart people. Like Ronald Reagan, I've taught him to always believe in the American people. Now, even I begin to doubt. First we had that jackass Howard Dean tell us 4 years ago that nothing is the Dems fault, they hold no majority, no power. Other than the Iraq war, what was the big issue at that time? Nothing. The economy was fine (better than fine). So the Dems get power in 2006 and in the next two years the economy goes to hell and gas prices double. Coincidence? I think not. And still the Dems scream "not our fault!" Then their big complaint became that they didn't have enough of a majority to stop the "evil, corrupt Republicans" Has anybody seen a Republican in the news lately caught with his hand in the proverbial cookie jar? At the center of every scandal and financial mess you find a Dem. But thanks to the media wing of the Dem party everything is still Bush's fault. Well the Dems have everything they want now and they are out of excuses. I hope the American people can see through the smoke screen that the media will no doubt throw up over the next four years. If the Dems don't get to do everything they want then they will blame Republicans. I say let them have their way. Then they own it. I just hope the country can survive. I have little hope that the Republicans will stand firm in the Senate to stop them. It only takes two or three votes from our side to give them a veto proof majority. They have gotten them in the past.

The left is all giddy thinking that the Republican party and Conservatism is dead. If that had defeated a REAL Conservative Republican in the last election I might be inclined to agree with him. Since it was only John McCain I think they might be celebrating too soon.

And as a final note. SEVEN YEARS OF SAFETY HERE AT HOME IS NOT NOTHING. President Bush should be commended for that. I just hope history will remember him for it. In his eight years in it has only been the last two that have been difficult for the country. I lay the blame for that mostly on the Dems. The RINO's in Congress are to blame as well.

Not thats bipartisanship!
