Is it about race?
Only one person knows for sure…and it’s not Limbaugh.
Powell claims that he’s not happy with the “rightward shift” of the Republican party. But is there any merit in his accusation???
Listen to the views of Republican Senator Michelle Bachmann
Video of Senator Michelle Bachmann on Hardball
So...what do you think??. is Colin Powell was just being overly sensitive, or does he have a point???

Of course Adam, you would take what Palin said out of context. She was comparing the places they visit to Washington DC (the political machine in it). Here are her remarks:

"We believe that the best of America is not all in Washington, D.C. We believe" -- here the audience interrupted Palin with applause and cheers -- "We believe that the best of America is in these small towns that we get to visit, and in these wonderful little pockets of what I call the real America, being here with all of you hard working very patriotic, um, very, um, pro-America areas of this great nation."

She continued: "This is where we find the kindness and the goodness and the courage of everyday Americans. Those who are running our factories and teaching our kids and growing our food and are fighting our wars for us. Those who are protecting us in uniform. Those who are protecting the virtues of freedom."

You see, DC is not the real America, where people live and go about normal lives is.

Read it all.

I am not scared because I do not get scared. I can adapt and overcome. I will survive any presidency.

I survived Carter and Clinton.

Let us wait and see on election day if they speak for you. I predict that 3000 counties will be red and fewer than 1000 will be blue on a country map.

Obama inspires folks that already agree with him? In case you haven't noticed, there's not a single state the GOP has picked up differently from 2004 and 9 others in play for Obama that weren't for Dems that time. Again you sell him short because you can't stand him but really you're only kidding yourselves here.

Don't take my word for it though. Let the fine folks of Colorado, North Carolina, and North Dakota speak for me. Those states are in play now for Obama because he is gathering supporters from places that haven't voted Democratic in years.

You guys scared yet? Looks like it from the way you talk in terms of the apocalypse...

Big Dog,

I admire your patience.

I am dreading these next four years if the press gets there way. Anybody with a brain and thinks for themselves knows that if the press had done its job, we'd be having hillary as the dem candidate.

I agree this piece of crap will do much to lead the ruins of this country, just like bill stole and hollywood elitist and the devil himself, raped this country redifining good as bad, et. al.

I hope that America will wake up in four years. But who knows, maybe the press is over counting the dems and it is not as it is reported.

monroe,
Maybe because he is from Chicago?

Obama inspires people who are already inclined to agree with him. He has never worked on any bipartisan legislation (of any consequence, like politically risky) and he has voted with his party 97% of the time.

Regardless of all this he turns maps colors crap the fact is about 50% of the country will not like him.

If Republicans don't like McCain it is a good indication that he has worked with Democrats on things we do not like. Obama has never, ever done that. He will not take a risk.

Powell is a decent man (though I have some problems with his Vietnam POW position from the Kerry/McCain days) and I respect his service. to me though, his endorsement is about race and the fact that he said it wasn't tells it all.

Interestingly, you mention the nomination of McCain but neglect to mention that the left has nominated a man who has accomplished little, has little experience, stated himself that he was not ready to be president and was chided as unexperienced by the very people backing him now including his running mate. How did all that change?

If Obama wins I predict a huge House turn over in 2010.

He will not unite and he will not work in a bipartisan way. He has not united. He has mostly excited liberals who have been upset for a long time. McCain has some Democrats supporting him. Funny, I mention Powell and I am a bad guy but the left has beaten Lieberman half to death and will strip him of everything if they get enough seats in the Senate.
