Patrick Kennedy Warns Of Violence

From the right, of course

Representative Patrick Kennedy, the last Kennedy in political office and son of the late Ted Kennedy, is warning about violence because of the anger over the out of control government. He actually said it was about the health care debate and the example he gave dealt with that issue, but like all politicians he misses the bigger point. The debate is about out of control government.

Kennedy warned of the potential violence and used a sign he saw at a protest. Ten thousand signs bearing the words “Bury ObamaCare with Kennedy” were distributed at a protest by a group that opposes abortion. Patrick is of the opinion that this is disgusting and could lead to violence. After all, as he reminds us, his family has seen its share of violence. His uncles were assassinated and his father killed a woman. Of course, the 9-12 protest had nearly a million people in attendance and none of them were arrested. None of them committed crime and they cleaned up their trash when they left. The law breaking typically takes place when the left is involved in a protest.

I have no problem with the slogan. Ted Kennedy was the champion of government run health care and he claims to have made it his life’s work. The slogan indicates that we should bury his dream with him because the concept is a bad one.

I know that Patrick and others from the left will likely disagree and that is their right. I would find it hypocritical for those who used Ted Kennedy’s death to try and pass this health care takeover plan to oppose those who mention his death in wishing its defeat. Remember, Kennedy was not even cold when the Democrats were discussing doing it for him and fulfilling a dream he did not live to see.

To be upset with a slogan after that shameless display is beyond the pale.

The good news in it all is that Ted Kennedy has now been sober for 4 weeks.

Of course, that is assuming they do not serve scotch in Hell.

As an aside, where was Patrick Kennedy when the violence and hatred was directed at George Bush?

I’d love to visit some violence upon Patrick Kennedy. How about if I kick the everloving crap out of the drunken bastard?

That SOB, and his father (may he burn in Hell for all Eternity), come from a political family responsible for legislating & imposing this socialist BS upon the free citizens of America!

Get ready, because if these Democrats don’t start listening to the voters, we may well start cracking some heads at the ballot boxes.

Unfortunately, the Kennedys are just a visible manifestation of the progressive problem we have in this country, where a family that made its fortune in organized crime is respected, and an obese filmmaker can scream about how evil Capitalism is while he pockets his riches, and pampered actors with nary a cogent thought in their heads can talk about poverty in America when they are paid 20 million per film, for movies I wouldn’t see for free.
And the conservatives are the faction that is supposed to be whacko?
      I don’t think so.

  2. Blake says:

Pat refers to George Wallace as “not needing to point a gun-” If I recall rightly, wasn’t it Wallace who was shot? Four times, and spent the rest of his life in a wheelchair?
Seems like Paddy, like many other liberals doesn’t know history worth a darn.

  3. Samuel Adams says:

Isn’t it amusing when members of the power elite suddenly fear for their own personal safety? Even more amusing is that they created all the hate and discontent themselves with their never-ending lust for power, greed and need to control their loyal serfs. I have a suggestion for when their serfs become disloyal: make a fist and extend your car keys from between your dingers, carry pepper spray, a rape whistle and a cell phone to dial 9-1-1. They should absolutely never carry a weapon such as a knife or (HORRORS!) a gun because they do not have the mental and physical abilities to safely operate a firearm. Just dial 9-1-1, like the rest of the serfs, and purchase an electronic home intrusion system so that all those zeroes and ones scrolling across your home’s walls can protect you!

[when the violence and hatred was directed at George Bush?]

    DAR
Bush, being the worst president of modern times if not all time was certainly hated (still is). And with good reason. So this is understandable.

    But threats of violence?

People who have no arguments and no intellectual support for their beliefs are quick to have tantrums and threaten violence. This blog is a perfect example of that.

Any examples of the left acting like this toward Bush? Today:

“Newsmax: Military Coup Would Take Care Of “Obama Problem”

    Link.

    Traitors.

    • Blake says:

So the threats against Bush were understandable, but the ones against Nobama are NOT?
And it is obama and his ilk who are traitors.

  5. Big Dog says:

No Darrel, people who are threatened with the removal of freedom warn of violence. Being a Canadian you might not know it but people sleep peacefully in their beds at night because there are men ready to do violence on their behalf.

Are you on glue? Bush the worst? Not a chance. Carter is easily worse and maybe the worst of all we have had. Obama will likely end up in that bunch though he will get a boost because he is black and if anyone says he was bad they will be called a racist.

Are you on more glue? You want examples of the left acting like what toward Bush? Certainly they did not have any bury (something) with Bush because he is not dead. However, there were countless little Bush dolls hanging from a rope (is that racist Adam). There were pictures of him with a target or cross hairs on him and of course, there was a movie about him being assassinated.

Nothing that has been directed toward Obama is anywhere near as bad as how the left has acted.

And for you to say it is understandable for Bush to be threatened? That is moronic and shows how little you actually understand anything. Obama is doing things a lot of people do not like but advocating hurting him is not something I would ever say was understandable.

We have legal means to handle issues and we have elections. Until they abandon the Constitution completely (and they are on the way) we do not need an armed revolution though I think that may happen in the future.

      Bigd: Carter is easily worse>>

      DAR
Objective measurement of standard categories of presidential success show, since WWII, Carter is squarely in the middle beating your Nixon, Eisenhower and beating the pants off of both papa Bush and baby Bush *handily.*

      Forbes.

That’s fifth place out of eleven. Only two republicans, out of six, beat him.

Bigd: “for you to say it is understandable for Bush to be threatened?>>

      DAR
But I didn’t say that. Set the glue bottle aside for a moment. I said, as anyone who can read can see, that it is understandable for Bush to be “HATED.”

Bigd: advocating hurting him is not something I would ever say was understandable.>>

      DAR
It’s not understandable? You don’t understand it when Obama gets threats at four times the rate Bush did, from people who hold similar positions to yours?

“How do they train themselves to be so impervious to reality? It begins, I suspect, with religion. They are taught from a young age that it is good to have “faith” — which is, by definition, a belief without any evidence to back it up. You don’t have “faith” Australia exists, or fire burns: you have evidence. You only need “faith” to believe the untrue or unprovable. Indeed, they are taught that faith is the highest aspiration and most noble cause. Is it any surprise this then percolates into their political views? Faith-based thinking spreads and contaminates the rational.”

How can you be so delusional? Being a Canuk has frozen your brain?
Carter is definitely the worst (so far) but Nobama is coming up fast Carter was just incompetent- This guy is dangerous because of all the insane people he has around him.
Your stats are so skewed that I no longer even look to see if they contain even a modicum of common sense anymore- they do not- they are horribly, insane liberal screeds that twist the facts into something that doesn’t even remotely resemble common sense.

      • Blake says:

What a liberal list- you drag this discredited pig out every time we mention Carter.
BTW- did you know Carter did not hire Blacks on his peanut farm until 1972? Who’s the racist here?
And I doubt Nobama gets near that many threats- Bush had a constant stream of them.
How do you compare the G-20 protesters to the 9/12 march?
Well, by police reports- 1,091 arrests at the G-20, not ONE single arrest at the 9/12 march- Hmmmmmm……
Perhaps because conservatives are actually adults, and liberals are spoiled brats.

  6. Big Dog says:

I doubt Obama is threatened at a rate of four times. The threats to Bush were probably not published because he is not a pussy.

You used this graph before and I “roasted” it then. It is not an accurate measure.

I also take exception to the claim that Obama is threatened by the right. That is speculation.

    • Darrel says:

[You used this graph before and I “roasted” it then.]

      DAR
Actually you didn’t. Perhaps you forgot. It uses standard objective measurements of what we judge presidents and prosperity by:

      GDP Rank
      Real Disposable Personal Income Rank
      Employment Rank
      Unemployment Rank
      Inflation Rank
      Deficit Reduction Rank

If you don’t like these, give me some others. You don’t like these because, well, no reasons really, you just don’t like the result.

Every indicator under Clinton improved, and nearly every indicator under Bush, became worse. But that’s cherry picking the best against the very worst.

Aside from your emotional non-rational feelings, Carter’s performance was in the middle, and he beats all of your republicans except two (out of six).

That’s just the way it is.

  7. Sir says:

Patrick, the popular media, the hollywood elite and the liberal minded HATE anyone who disagrees with them, and would love to imprison and legislate what one can say or not. This is frightening. This is freedom threatening.

10,000 signs in a crowd of 1 million at the protest is fringe. And even then, be real! It does not say kill a liberal or bury Obama, liberals, or any individuals, it says bury Obamacare, bury an idea. Why are you so afraid of ideas? Why are you afraid of those who do not agree with you?

May I remind you Patrick, I distinctly remember seeing the likeness of Bush Sr, Jr and Reagan hanging from sticks and being burned, kicked and buried while they were President. I recall rantings in newspaper editorials that called Bush a liar (and many more despicable things) and wished all kinds of physical harm to him while President.

Where were you when this was happening? Where was the “all loving” liberal voice during this? Why were you and your father not voicing outrage when that was going on?

It seems you would be all for silencing those who disagree with you because you have no explanation or rational arguments for your stand so you must silence those who make you look irrational?

  9. Big Dog says:

Those are not the way WE measure president, those are the way the report measured them. Carter was a failure with high inflation and a terrible economy.

There are plenty of items we could use to measure people and they are not restricted to these. You like them because they support what you believe but that does not make them the final say, especially coming from Forbes which, last time I checked, was not the arbiter on presidential rankings.

    • Darrel says:

Bigd: There are plenty of items we could use to measure [presidents]>>

      DAR
Obviously. But these are normal objective measurements of presidential success. You don’t like the results for emotional reasons.

Bigd: “Carter was a failure with high inflation”

      DAR
As of course accounted for in this chart. He came in tenth in that category.

      Here is another examination:

“Presidential rankings according to 65 historians and professional observers of the presidency surveyed by the cable channel C-SPAN. Participants ranked each president by 10 leadership attributes.”

      http://www.c-span.org/presidentialsurvey/Overall-Ranking.aspx

Carter comes in 25th out of all presidents.

You bias against him is not based on reason but rather emotion.

      • Blake says:

Your last quote could NOT be about Carter- not even close-of course you were still in Canada at the time, and I am sure, compared to Canada, even Carter might have looked good- it was an illusion.

      • Big Dog says:

In an assessment of all presidents the ones on this list are not even mentioned though many of the people surveyed expected GWB to make the cut in the future. However, there are a number of worst president polls and the lists are different.

Who is the worst president is an arguable point since we all use different measures. Carter has some honorable traits. He went to the Naval Academy and served for about 7 years. He has also been married to the same woman for over 60 years. But, he was a bigot and racist in his early career and is an anti Semite. He had no idea how to run the country, caused huge problems with inflation and the monetary system. Went ahead with the rescue attempt in Iran agaisnt the advice of those who knew better and got a lot of service people killed. He decreased morale in the military and his wimpiness in the Iran hostage crisis is of epic proportions.

However, given that I have not looked at all other presidents I will say that he is the worst to have served in my lifetime and one of the worst in history, IMHO.

        • Darrel says:

Bigd: Who is the worst president is an arguable point since we all use different measures.>>

          DAR
Actually, eight. Just yesterday you said 45,000 dead Americans was “statistically insignificant.”

Should we blame him for the sand storm too?

“An unexpected sandstorm of the kind known as a haboob contributed to the loss of three of the eight RH-53D helicopters….”

Bigd: “his wimpiness in the Iran hostage crisis is of epic proportions.”>>

          DAR
Wimpiness which in the end resulted in every single one of them coming home safe. For which they are grateful (I watched them thanking him the other day in a documentary). There were worse possible outcomes than this.

          D.

  10. Big Dog says:

Carter had nothing to do with them coming home. They were released right after Reagan took the oath of office because Iraq knew he would not be wimpy.

No, no one said that a rescue attempt should not be made and he could not have predicted the sandstorm. The folks in the military said this was not the way to do it and that there would be problems with this kind of mission. There were other options on the table and he wanted this one against the advice of the people who know these things.

Eight people is statistically insignificant. However, they died due to incompetence of their CINC.
