Hillary Clinton was invited to speak at a stop Iran from gaining nuclear weapons rally but backed out when she learned that Sarah Palin was also an invited speaker. Was Hillary upset that she would have to share the spotlight, was she worried about how it would affect Obama, was she concerned Palin would be better received or give a better speech or was she afraid?

No matter what the reason, Hillary played partisan politics on an issue that should unite and not divide. The organizers tried to get Joe Biden but he was unable to attend so, under pressure from external sources, the organizers “disinvited” (this is not a word) Palin.

We collected over 20,000 signatures in 24 hours asking Iran Unity rally organizer Malcolm Hoenlein to take Sarah Palin off the schedule for Monday’s rally, and he caved to our pressure on Thursday afternoon citing the fact that the rally had become too partisan.

This is the right decision. A unity rally to express communal solidarity is no place for partisan politics. And to give such prominence to Sarah Palin alone would have spoken neither to, nor for, the American Jewish community. J Street

There was no petition or concern about the rally becoming partisan when it was believed that Clinton was the only invited political speaker. Once she withdrew the issue suddenly became partisan and Palin had to go. I wonder if this group would have felt it was the right decision had Hillary been the lone speaker and subsequently petitioned and “disinvited.”

No matter. Palin will speak at a rally sponsored by Women United. The Israeli Project has withdrawn from the original event over the removal of Palin. The following is a statement from Morton A. Klein, national president of the Zionist Organization of America:

“The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) strongly opposes the disinvitation of Vice-Presidential candidate Governor Sarah Palin to be one of many speakers at a “stop Iran from gaining nuclear weapons rally.” This rally will also protest the presence of Iran’s president Ahmadinejad at the United Nations on Monday, September 22. This is an anti-Iran rally, not a partisan political rally, as Democratic Senator Hilary Clinton was invited as was vice-presidential candidate Joe Biden and later Democratic Congressman Robert Wexler of Florida. Clinton withdrew and Biden apparently couldn’t attend.

“Under tremendous pressure from Jewish Democrats and liberal Jewish groups, Palin’s invitation was withdrawn with a decision made not to include any politicians. Why are we excluding political leaders who have the real power to act on this critical issue? The ZOA believes this was a serious mistake.

“This was not a political rally for any party or individual. All Democrats and Republicans are united against Ahmadinejad developing nuclear weapons which he indicated he would use “to wipe Israel and America off the map.” We thought that one of the themes of Democrats this year was “promoting unity” and “bringing people together.” Well, here was an opportunity to do just that on an issue we can all support and certain groups and interests have caused us to fail. The ZOA is so disappointed by this unnecessary and harmful outcome.

“At this rally, there would be no implied or explicit endorsement of any candidate or party, only a unified condemnation of Ahmadinejad. No one was going to speak about politics, only about loving America and Israel, and fighting Iran, and standing up to evil.

“The ZOA deeply regrets that certain Jewish groups and individuals believed the inadvertent benefit that would accrue to Sarah Palin outweighed the enormous benefit that Israel and the United States would receive when a Vice-Presidential candidate and others give visibility and power to this life and death issue.

“It seems for these people politics and their personal political agenda were more important than Israel and America’s security. This wrong-headed action of cancelling the appearance of major political leaders hurt Israel and the United States. Ahmadinejad must be delighted that those who oppose his policies are so divided they can’t even stand on the same stage to condemn him. I assure you, if we were holding a rally to condemn an internationally-known racist, anti-Black leader, no one would dare disinvite a speaker and no speaker would dare back out.

“The ZOA strongly urges that Sarah Palin be reinvited along with any other key Democratic or Republican leaders.

“Otherwise, this will become a day of shame and humiliation for the Jewish people instead of a day of Jewish pride, strength, courage, and will. On this day, we should have put aside all other political interests and together fight against this existential threat against Israel and major threat to the United States and the entire western world.” Atlas Shrugs

There is no doubt that the president of Iran desires the elimination of Israel and there is no doubt his country is working on obtaining the means to do just that. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will be in New York and will be hosted by Obama’s campaign finance committee’s chairwoman.

I don’t like the idea of taxpayer money going to bail out companies that made bad decisions any more than I like the idea of bailing out people who bought homes they could not afford. If you take bad decisions then you should have to live with the consequences. I understand why they have to bail out companies but I don’t like it. I can only hope that the companies are forced to pay the money back.

Why are politicians so gung ho to bail out the companies? They are guilty of causing the problem, (both parties share in the guilt) and now they are running to show they are on top of things when they should have been on top in 2003 when George Bush wanted to have tighter control or in 2005 when John McCain warned about increased taxpayer risk.

The major reason they are trying to get things on track is that it affects their pocketbooks. I don’t mean the donations that they were getting from the companies, which might or might not stop; I am talking about the stock they own in the failing companies.

The market storm that brought down Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., American International Group Inc. and other pillars of U.S. finance may have also blown holes in the portfolios of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senator John Kerry and more than 50 other members of Congress.

Pelosi, in her most recent financial disclosure form, reported that her husband owned between $250,000 and $500,000 of stock in AIG, which ceded majority control to the U.S. government this week in exchange for $85 billion of loans.

Kerry, the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee, disclosed that his wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry, had more than $2 million of AIG stock at the end of 2007, when shares were worth $58.30. AIG has fallen 85 percent this week to close yesterday at $2.69. The lawmakers’ aides didn’t respond to calls seeking comment.

Altogether, 56 senators and representatives had stakes in AIG, Lehman, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Bear Stearns Cos. or IndyMac Bancorp Inc. — some of the biggest casualties of the market bloodbath — according to the Center for Responsive Politics. The most recent annual disclosure filings list investments as of Dec. 31, 2007, and reveal the size of holdings only within a range of values. Lawmakers may have sold shares since then. Bloomberg

When it affects their wallets they are pretty eager to react. The fact they have these holdings might be the reason they waited so long (and why Democrats opposed tighter control). When they were raking in the money they were not interested. Now that their stocks are dropping faster than Bill Clinton’s pants, they want to act.

Vote them all out. They are pointing fingers at each other but they are all guilty. Let’s show them that we are not holding one person or group responsible, we are holding them all responsible. Vote them out. These politicians are talking about bad CEOs and how they should be fired or lose their salaries for their mismanagement. I agree and to take it one step further, let’s hold Congress responsible for its mismanagement and get rid of them. They demonstrated that they don’t get it until it affects them so let’s make sure it affects them by removing them from office.

I have written about Wayne Gilchrest before. I worked hard to see that he was defeated in the primary because even though he was listed as a Republican he acted like and voted with the Democrats. I had been advocating for people to vote out incumbents and I put my money where my mouth is. Gilchrest lost to Andy Harris.

Harris is a stand up guy and a great conservative. He is also a physician and an officer in the Naval Reserve. He will be a great Congressman but we need to beat out a challenger who is putting up a good fight.

Frank Kratovil, a Democrat and an attorney, is running for the seat and he is keeping the race close. The recent poll changes the district from likely Republican to leans Republican and we still have a long way to go. I think Harris will pull this out because the district is fairly conservative and has had a Republican Congressman for about 20 years. However, this is not a forgone conclusion.

One person who has endorsed Kratovil is none other than RINO Wayne Gilchrest. Gilchrest is bitter because he was beaten and he now wants Harris to be denied the seat. I tried to warn Gilchrest to straighten his act up but he ignored the numerous emails sent to him and his condescending attitude led me to actively fight for Andy Harris and against Wayne Gilchrest. I have a lot of friends and relatives in the 1^st District and they did not vote for him. He should have listened (not that I was solely responsible but every little bit helps).

It is easy to say that Gilchrest’s endorsement is nothing more than sour grapes but in reality it is in keeping with his inner liberal. You see, Gilchrest sided with Democrats on many issues that were not popular with real conservatives and he went against the wishes of his constituents. So it is not surprising to me that he endorsed the Democrat.

In case anyone thinks that one endorsement does not a liberal make, consider this.

Gilchrest has endorsed Obama/Biden. A true conservative would not do that because those two are extremely liberal. This is why Gilchrest lost his seat and I say good riddance.

Andy Harris will win this race so long as we can keep focused on the issues. Kratovil espouses the big government programs and the tax increases that support them and Harris believes in small government, lower taxes and he will never forget that he works for the people and never, unlike Gilchrest, be foolish enough to think we work for him.

If you are in the First Congressional District in Maryland then you need to register to vote and cast that vote for Andy Harris.

I wrote earlier about the line I have heard for a while and that is, if you don’t vote for Obama you are a racist. This is becoming a more common theme as The One fails to take control of the election and faces the real possibility that he will lose. His surrogates are out in full force and they are playing a complete deck of race cards and they are dealing from the bottom. The sleazy Obama campaign used Rush Limbaugh’s words out of context so it could pander to Hispanics. Limbaugh had this reaction.

Today, two more Obama surrogates from Ohio came forward to call Democrats and Independents who will not vote for Obama racists and said that not voting for him would be unpatriotic:

Monday afternoon, state Representatives Bob Hagan of Youngstown and Tom Letson of Warren met with reporters.

They argue many voters who call themselves “Democrats” or “Independents”, but won’t vote for Obama, have only one excuse, with Letson saying, “I would say that a lot of it is they’re not going to vote for ‘the black guy’”.

Hagan called the issue “unpatriotic,” adding those not willing to vote for Obama need “to face that fact. That that’s not acceptable in America.”

Both men say they will work to convince those “swing voters” to change their minds between now and election day.WYTV

I think it is worthwhile to take a look at this. Since only Independents and Democrats are mentioned, Republicans who do not vote for Obama are not racists and they are patriots.

If we accept that not voting for Obama is unpatriotic and racist as true then it would mean the converse is also true. Those who vote for Obama are not racist and are patriots. Joe Biden, Obama’s running mate, said that it is patriotic to pay more in taxes.

So, a vote for Obama is patriotic and paying more taxes is patriotic, therefore a vote for Obama is a vote for more taxes. No surprise there.

However, let me educate these two dim witted liberal morons. There are plenty of people who do not care what color Obama is. They oppose his policies and what he wants to do to this country or they feel he is not experienced enough for the job. There are many, many reasons that people will not vote for Obama and NONE of them have to do with being racist. This is nothing more than a strong armed tactic designed to play on white guilt and try to make people believe they are racist if they don’t vote for The One. Remember people, the ballot is secret so you may vote for whom you want. Also, you are not racist because you do not vote for Obama anymore than you are an ageist or a sexist if you don’t vote for McCain/Palin.

This is the way the left thinks. They believe that their views are so natural and so good that there must be something wrong with a person who will not vote for their candidates. In the case of Obama, race MUST be the only reason because, naturally, no person in his right mind could disagree with his positions. It never occurs to the left that people could actually disagree with their views.

I am a conservative Republican so, according to these guys, I must vote against Obama so I won’t be racist or unpatriotic. Happy to oblige!

For you Independents and Democrats who don’t want to vote for him then don’t. If you are worried about the racist tag, this will ease your mind. Obama is half white so just vote against that half of the man.

As for your patriotism, you are displaying it when you go out and vote regardless of who the vote is for. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

It has been brewing since Sarah Palin was announced as John McCain’s running mate. What has been brewing is the vile hatred that all liberals harbor for people who are not like them. They treat everyone who does not fall into their line of thinking like second class citizens and this includes people in their own party. Couple their natural nastiness with their desire to right their history of wronging blacks and you come up with some pretty nasty things.

A college professor assigned his students the task of writing something negative about Sarah Palin.

Sandra Bernhard, who some call a comedian, lit into Saracuda in one of her routines saying that Sarah Palin [should] not to come into Manhattan lest she get gang-raped by some of Sandra’s big black brothers.

Now that is true class. I get nasty humor and I can tolerate some of the comedians who use lots of vulgar words and refer to the objects of their attacks in mean spirited ways but something about gang rape jokes just sets wrong with me. Not only does it portray a stereotype of blacks in the hood as how they were seen in the old south but it refers to a violent crime against women. Bernhard is this really ugly woman who looks like she has been at the end of a crack pipe and heroin needle for way too long and her mouth spews nothing but vulgarity. If people want to pay to see that it is their business but I think the gang rape comments are way over the line. Maybe the next time she says it a stage light will fall and crush her. Now that would be comical.

Next up we have Charlie Rangel, tax evading Congressman from New York. When asked why Democrats were afraid of Palin and her popularity he answered that you have to be kind to the disabled.

A United States Congressman called a candidate for the Vice Presidency disabled. Now politics is not for the feint of heart but one would think that Rangel would not make that kind of comment considering Palin has a child with Trisomy 21. It is also astonishing that a member of the party that bills itself as all inclusive would insult the millions of people who are disabled. Rangel’s comments insulted the blind, the deaf, the mentally ill, the mentally retarded, people with countless other maladies and he disrespected and insulted the members of America’s military who are disabled as a result of their service to this country. Since liberalism is a mental disorder, he also insulted a lot of people who vote for his party.

Charlie Rangel should be spending his time trying to figure out how he is going to avoid jail time for evading taxes.

I am willing to bet that Sarah Palin has not used her elected office to get rich and buy investment properties. I am willing to bet that Palin has paid her taxes in full and on time. I am also willing to bet that Palin does not have a taxpayer funded pimp mobile to ride around Harlem (the place Bernhard’s rapist friends reside) and while Rangel was gaming the system and screwing people out of their hard earned money Palin was selling off taxpayer funded luxuries in order to save them money.

Rangel might think Plain is disabled but the Congressman from Harlem is just stupid. If the morons who keep supporting him put him back in office then he can deal with Vice President Palin starting next year.

Liberals are pro choice. Bernhard’s and Rangel’s mothers obviously made the wrong one.

Liberals are unhinged at the selection of Sarah Palin. They are showing their true colors and their hatred for people who do not think like they do. They are hypocrites who are anything but the inclusive and diverse group they claim to be.
