America, Love It or Leave It

I received some comments on a post at tryontheglasses after I said that Michael Moore’s behavior was narcissistic. I was accused of having the same trait. I’ll admit to being egotistic at times but I am by no means narcissistic.
I responded that I did not have a love for myself, that I have a love for my country and am willing to give my life in its defense. I asked if the commenter or the subject (Moore) were willing to do the same.

This was the reply:

No, I don’t have an excessive love for my country. I have an excessive love for human beings. I can’t love my country as long as it treats my fellow human beings the way it does.

I remember posting a while ago that I wondered why I posted at the author’s site to which I was told that if it bothered me, don’t visit it.

I have the same advice. If you do not love your country then get the hell out. This country is the greatest in the world and many people die trying to get here for the freedoms we enjoy. The idea of not loving your country, despite any failings it might have, is absolute hypocracy. If you love the freedoms and the opportunities then you should love the country. If you do not love this country then stop sponging off it, get off the teet, and move to another country where you can enjoy the love of humans seen in these wonderful places. Perhaps North Korea, North Vietnam, or Siberia Russia would be more to your liking. You could go to One of the Arab worlds where they love humans so much they treat women like property, something less than human. Maybe you could tell them how much you dislike their behavior and then have your head lopped off.

This is America and if you do not like it here, let me know and I will buy you a one way ticket out. All you have to do is denounce your citizenship and sign legal documents stating you will never, ever return.

Hillary is Going to Run

Despite what she says, or more accurately what she does not, Hillary Clinton will seek the nomination of her party in 2008. She is already running. First we had her use of evangelical a bunch of times in an interview telling how religious she is. Now we have her changing her position on abortion, sort of.
Hillary told a group of abortion rights activists that she believes in Roe v. Wade but that the people need to find a common ground and that it is religion and faith that make young people abstain. Maybe Bill’s lack of religion would explain his failings…
If you don’t think she is running, check out this from Drudge.

Hillary is running part II:
This story from the Palm Beach Post is a story about Hillary bashing the current administration. She says the economy is about may be on the brink of collapse. This is Clinton speak for might be but I am saying it to scare you. Given the economic numbers it is more like might not.
The article is filled with the typical BS you would expect but usually hear around election time. She is priming to run. The piece is full of wingnut favorites about Social Security and Health Care. Perhaps the strangest thing she said is this.

“I believe that on both political and substantive grounds, my husband did it just right,” she said, referring to former President Clinton. “The deficit reduction act didn’t get one single Republican vote. He took on the gun lobby with the Brady Bill. He took on health care. He took on hard issues that we pay a president for. Frankly, it is not that hard cutting people’s taxes.”

Her huband did who right? Oh, it. The deficit reduction act did not reduce the deficit. The Brady bill was of no use. The number of murders remains high because criminals are routinely put back on the streets. Criminals can’t own guns so the Brady bill only affected honest citizens. He took on health care and it is no better. Why? Because the dems always want it to appear these things are in danger so they can appeal to the base who does not know any better. Their voters. The group of people who depend on the government to live.

It is not hard to cut people’s taxes? It is the most difficult thing in the world for a democrat to do. She still thinks it is not your money.

Senator Boxer is Delusional

I remember seeing the snippets of Condi Rice’s confirmation hearing last week. I saw Barbara Boxer call Rice a liar, but not use the word, a trick she learned from John Kerry. Now, Boxer is claiming that Rice “turned and attacked me.” I do not know what planet this woman is from but it is not Earth. From the looks of things, Venus is out of the question too. This was the statement made by Boxer.

“I personally believe — this is my personal view — that your loyalty to the mission you were given, to sell this war, overwhelmed your respect for the truth,”

Call me crazy, but this sure sounds like Boxer said Rice’s dedication to the mission made her lie about it. Dr. Rice was very poised despite this unfounded and cheap attack on her character. She replied this way.

“And I would hope that we can have this conversation and discuss what happened before and what went on before and what I said without impugning my credibility or my integrity,”

What did she say after being attacked? She said we can talk about this but I hope you will do so without calling me a liar. I think Boxer has been in the mushrooms or something. She probably has a few party favors left over from the Clinton White House. Maybe she and Uncle Teddy went out for a hundred martini lunch. In any event this woman is off base. She said Rice’s tactic was a good debating technique. When you don’t know the answer attack the person asking it. WTF, over?

Senator Babs needs to look in the mirror. She pulled a favorite trick of the left. When you can not come up with a good argument, make up lies about the people to whom you are talking and attack their character. Character attacks are a favorite of the left and Boxer is getting better at it. She is obviously frustrated that Bush won and Kerry lost. She and a few others seem determined to make it hard on the President. They should be careful or they could have some trouble. They might hide all the scotch and watch Ted Kennedy go nuts (more so than he is). He might end up killing somebody (again) by the time it is over.

Moore on the Gun Story

Recently I posted a story(at tryontheglasses) about Michaels Moore’s bodyguard being arrested for carrying a firearm in New York, where he was not licensed to do so. It appears that this story might be in error. I posted information from Fox News and now, at another site, there is information that this story might have been incorrect. The person in question was not Moore’s bodyguard though he might have been assigned to guard Moore in the past.

If this turns out to be the case then I reported on a story that was incorrect. However, it is a fact that Moore employs armed guards to protect him. It does not take away from my premise that he feels he is so important that he needs to be guarded yet you do not have that same luxury.

The web site reporting the error is located here.

I apologize for relaying information that might be inaccurate. I guess if I worked for CBS I could say that the story is false but the facts are correct so it is OK. I am not CBS. Though I did not write the original story I accept responsibility for reporting it.

Now this is a Mandate

A mandate (not something Ellen Degenerate never has) is what has been debated for the past 3 months since the election. Those on the right say the President got a clear mandate in his win. He received the majority of the vote and won by a rather large margin. Those who oppose say that a small part of the actual population voted so bush only received 51% of the small portion of voters. By the way, we call that a quorum. The majority of those present and eligible to vote.

Then we had the folks at Lost Adam telling us that Michael Moore winning best film for F9/11 was a mandate. Though that was said tongue in cheeck in an attempt to make a point that the President did not have a mandate. I guess it is 1-1 in a tied game based on these assertions (though I think the Moore assertion just shows there are a lot of loonies out there). So we need a tie breaker. Let’s go to the MSM for that.

During the inauguration Fox News got almost 3 times as many viewers as CNN. This from Drudge:

CNN hemorrhaged more than half their audience from the 2001 Inauguration, overnights show. The troubled news network only averaged 779,000 viewers during yesterday’s Inauguration coverage from 10am-4pm with just 168,000 of those viewers landing in the coveted 25-54 demo.

Like CNN, MSNBC also suffered major losses, only averaging 438,000 viewers throughout yesterday’s coverage (141,000 in 25-54), down a whopping 68% over 2001 and faring even worse in primetime with just 385,000 viewers.

In contrast, Fox News averaged 2,581,000 viewers from 10a-4p (up 30% over 2001) and their 25-54 demo average of 705,000 came close to CNN’s total coverage ratings yesterday.

The report also shows that, with respect to the inauguration in 2001, Fox is up 57%, CNN down 14% and MSNBC down 47%. So this is the tie breaker. More people watched the fair and balanced conservative news station than watched the other two combined.

Now this is a mandate. More people are opting for conservative news that is fair and balanced than the leftist run news stations. It looks like the pajama clad bloggers have done a good job of exposing the MSM for what they are. It has opened the eyes of people who would otherwise be brainwashed by the mindless prattle the MSM passes off as unbiased news.
