It is interesting that the Obama folks all go bonkers when John McCain airs ads calling him “The One” and equating him to characters of Biblical proportion. The reason it is interesting is because the Democratic party does everything it can to make Obama look like he was sent here by God to fix the Earth. To listen to the Democrats (both the elected and the moonbats who support them) one would think that Obama was the second coming of Jesus Christ. Nancy Pelosi did nothing to change the perception of Obama as the one when she stated that God sent him to us:

He was warmly received by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who called him “a leader that God has blessed us with at this time.” [emphasis mine]Politico

Wow, a Democrat invoking the name of God in politics. Try that in a public school and see what happens. How disturbing is it that the Speaker of the House actually said that God has blessed us with Obama? The Democrats who think Obama is the messiah should be happy that they were not in power when Barry was born. If Roe v Wade had happened two decades earlier Obambi might have ended up as a blob of cells on a platter. If a guy like him had been in office he could have been killed even after he was born.

But I digress. I am having a hard time understanding the Democrat’s ire at McCain’s portrayal of Obama when the Democrats look at him in the same light in which he was portrayed in the McCain ad.

This past week Americans were fixated on Michael Phelps and his history making feat of winning eight gold medals in the Olympics. As impressive as that was, in order to be at Obama level Phelps would have also needed to receive frankincense and myrrh.

If Obama is a gift from God then we must have really ticked him off. Bring us locusts, grasshoppers and black sores anytime. Those plagues would have to be better than the plague of Socialism Barry will inflict upon us.

It appears as if the city of Denver has its own formerly secret prison. The city converted a warehouse into a jail to process and house those who get arrested during the Democratic National Convention. There is no doubt the jail was built for the DNC and not because Denver needed a new jail.

Interestingly, the jail was a secret. No one was supposed to know about it and probably would not have until the arrests started but someone found out and exposed it. Civil rights groups are up in arms and claim that this has the potential to lead to abuse of people’s civil rights. I agree that a secret prison would have that potential but since it is no longer a secret it is no different than any other jail.

But let us explore the whole secret jail issue. The Democrats knew about it and it was built especially for their convention. They know that a huge number of protest groups are going to show up and they want them arrested and off the streets quickly so as to avoid coverage of anything that might hurt their chances of winning.

So let’s get this straight. The same Democratic party that howls about Guantanamo Bay and secret CIA prisons in other countries knew about a secret prison right here in America built for their convenience. Some might call that a bit hypocritical. Others, like me, might ask why it is that the Democrats oppose prisons (secret or not) that house terrorists and other enemies of our country but are in favor of a secret prison to house people who show opposition to the Democrats?

I wonder why the liberals think that Bush is Hitler and Gitmo should be closed but that they should have secret prisons to lock up Americans who disagree with them. Such hypocrisy. What do you expect from a group that screams global warming and vows to have a green convention but complains that there are not enough limousines in Denver to cart them around. I know Denver has buses.

Oh yeah, all that stuff is for the rest of the country to follow. Not the do as I say, not as I do Democrats…

Barack Obama has a different logo each week and this week he is unveiling a logo that has the catchy phrase “Buy American, Vote for Barack Obama.” Obama, his people and their union puppets are trying to cast the sainted one as the true patriot with the best interests of Americans at heart. This is all in response to John McCain saying he would rather hear 50,000 Harleys than 200,000 Berliners to which the Obama camp pointed out that McCain voted against a bill that would require the US government to buy American made motorcycles.

As the Obama camp was quick to point out, McCain opposed legislation that would have forced the U.S. government to buy American-made motorcycles.

Let’s dispense with that first. While it is admirable to want to buy American the truth of the matter is that not all American made products are superior to others on the market and often the prices of American products are hugely inflated because of union workers and their contracts. On this issue, I agree with John McCain in that the government should not be forced to buy products simply because they are built here. There is a bidding process and it should be followed. Of course we have seen how that gets messed up when politicians want to dispense political favors (think Air Force refueling tanker).

Now on to the logo. I think it is supposed to be a combination of the Harley logo and the Obama logo but to tell the truth it appears like a flying a$$hole to me which is most appropriate when referring to the sainted one. You can see the logo at Lady J USA. [Thanks for the heads up Lady J]

I wonder how it is a man whose mother did not marry an American (she shopped elsewhere), who has a questionable past with regard to his birth records and who takes illegal donations from non citizens can discuss buying American with a straight face.

I also wonder if all the dope he used as a teen was American grown or imported from other countries.

The majority of Harley owners in this country are not the kind of people who would vote for Obama. His camp knows this and admits it is putting on a show to try and play them on the issue.

“Harley riders aren’t typically supportive of Democratic candidates,” the aide says. “But we’re making a play for them by saying that Obama’s economic policies are the true patriotic ones.” TPM

They are making a play by SAYING that Obama’s policies are the true patriotic ones. Saying something does not make it so. How this translates is; “We are saying that we are patriotic in order to fool these redneck, knuckle dragging bikers into voting for Obama.”

It is insulting to bikers and it questions John McCain’s patriotism. As far as that goes there is no comparison. McCain has a record of patriotism that is unmatched by any Democrat much less Obama. However, was it not Obama who said he would never question another person’s (patriotism?)

I guess we can add this to the growing list of lies and flip-flops the sainted one is compiling.

Anyone who votes for this guy is a moron or more likely, they are what I think his new logo looks like…

Barack Obama and John McCain were at a pastor’s forum discussing different social issues and they had the opportunity to answer questions about their views on them. They discussed personal failures and answered questions about abortion and same sex marriage and civil unions. Obama punted the abortion issue. He gave the canned response about keeping abortion legal but reducing unwanted pregnancy. I guess to Obama it is OK to murder as long as we do it less often.

On one of the questions Obama basically said that the whole idea behind liberalism is wrong:

Obama was asked what he would say if he could say whatever he wanted and face no public repercussions. He answered, “solving big problems are not going to be easy. We are all going to think about how we using things [energy-wise]. If we pretend like everything is free, we are betraying the tradition of America. [emphasis mine]” CNN

Liberals always pretend like everything is free. They always feel free to tax the hell out of people in order to keep spending money that does not belong to them. Their blatant disregard for fiscal responsibility and the way they spend money shows that they act like it grows on trees. They are in favor of welfare (free money), taxpayer funded educational opportunities (free money), rebates to people who pay no taxes (free money), and earmarks for every person or group to whom they owe favors (more free money).

Because the Democrats always pretend like everything is free they are able keep their base flocking to them by giving more [free] money away.

According to Barack Obama, the Democrats are betraying the tradition of America.

Finally, he said something with which I agree.

Demonstrating that they will change positions in order to win an election, the Democrats will offer an offshore drilling plan when the Congress reconvenes in September. The Democrats have been opposed to drilling despite record gas prices and huge amounts of money going to foreign suppliers. Though the Democrats have had a clandestine plan for vulnerable members to support drilling, this plan will mark the first time they have openly, as a group, offered a plan that will allow drilling on our own property.

I had predicted this would happen once Barack Obama had changed his position on drilling. Obama criticized John McCain for a similar reversal earlier in the year when Democrats did not support a plan to ease the price of gasoline which has risen since they took control of Congress. I knew once Obama threw his party under the bus in order to align himself with public opinion that it would not be long before the entire party began lining up to change their opposition to offshore drilling. As it turns out, they have embraced much of what John McCain wants (and that Obama followed on) so who is the real leader here?

In reality, this is a ruse. The Democrats are saying they will have a vote and the process will go along with them demanding that oil be released from the strategic reserve as part of any deal. The legislation will probably drag on until they recess prior to the election. If anything is passed they will recess confident that they will win the presidency and more seats in Congress. When they reconvene in January they will have the votes they need to overturn anything done prior to the election. If the Republicans capitulate and allow the release of oil then the Democrats will have gotten what they wanted and can reverse positions.

This is not a far out idea. They reversed their position on drilling in order to win the election. They would like to see prices go down prior to November so they can lull voters into a false sense of security. Once they take control they can undo all of it and voters will not be able to do anything about it. If they changed position to win the election what makes anyone think they won’t change again after it?

Nancy Pelosi is playing games with the public and with our energy future in order to win an election. She has been opposed to drilling and for energy independence her entire career and she is in the pockets of the environmentalists who want us eating dirt and walking everywhere. There is no way she will do anything that will permanently tick off that group of supporters.

People who vote to put these cretins in control of our government will get what they deserve. If voters were smart I would say that it might be good for them to suffer with the pain for four years so that they could learn a hard lesson. Unfortunately, the bulk of the voting public has the attention span of a goldfish and it never remembers how badly it was screwed in the last election. All the Democrats have to do next time is promise more hope and change and people will line up to sip from the Kool Aid cistern.

Democrats are dangerous to this country and we should never, ever trust them.
