I have seen this claim over and over. Obama has supposedly spent millions trying to keep his birth certificate hidden. Yet I have never seen a single drop of evidence supporting this claim. Do you have a drop of evidence for this most extraordinary claim? It’s really not too much to ask.

Yes, And I have seen the laws researched by others and they come to different conclusions than those who suport Obama.

My position all along is that I do not know because he was not held to the same standard as McCain, who manned up.

Why not get a certified copy of the original?

You injected the other stuff and then when I said I did not want to get into it again you played the game.

But to answer you:

People were allowed to register a non Hawaiian birth during that time frame. A COLB only takes info from a database and since it does not have all the birthplace info (hospital, doctor etc) it is invalid for many things such as land claims in Hawaii. I had one but could not use it to get my passport. Therefore, it proves nothing other than his birth was registered in Hawaii IAW the laws of the time.

The birth announcements were real. His mother had a very good reason for listing his birth in the paper. It would show he was a citizen should that question arise in the future. Nothing to do with his running for office but for the other things afforded citizens. I could submit a birth announcement right now in a local paper saying that Adam was born. Does that mean you were just born? Mommy had a purpose and it was to ensure there would be no question that her baby was a citizen (especially since daddy was a British subject).

The statement from the Hawaiian official does not say Obama was born in Hawaii. The person said I have seen his birth certificate and it is in accordance with Hawaiian laws (which allowed foreign births
to be registered). Here is the statement. Shoe me where he said Obama was born in Hawaii:

“Therefore, I as Director of Health for the State of Hawai‘i, along with the Registrar of Vital Statistics who has statutory authority to oversee and maintain these type of vital records, have personally seen and verified that the Hawai‘i State Department of Health has Sen. Obama’s original birth certificate on record in accordance with state policies and procedures,”

The have a birth certificate on file in accordance with their laws which allowed foreign births to be registered.
