Obamabots To Invade Talk Radio

Not long after Obama took office he told people that they could not listen to Rush Limbaugh to get their information and he basically made Limbaugh, a private citizen who has been more successful in business than Obama will ever be, an enemy. He did this along with FOX News and conservative talk in general.
Conservative talk was insignificant, need not be listened to, was ground noise, static.
But it must be loud enough and have enough influence to make the Democrats pay attention because they are amassing the Obamabot army to call in to talk radio to talk up the health care plan. The Democratic National Committee’s Organizing for America has launched a campaign where supporters will listen to talk radio and call in when the debate is about health care so that they can talk it up.
“The fate of health reform has been a focus of debate in living rooms and offices, on TV and online — and on talk radio. And since millions of folks turn to talk radio as a trusted source of news and opinions, we need to make sure OFA supporters are calling in with a pro-reform message,” says the introduction to the online tool.
It will be fun to listen as pimple faced cellar dwellers call in to extol the virtues of a plan with their great arguments about it being a right and Republicans are mean. It will be great to listen to them get chewed up and spit out by people who are experienced at talking for a living and know how to debate an issue and who actually have knowledge of the subject.
The drawback for the left is that having these people listen to conservative radio might end up turning them away from the Democrat party and the health care takeover.
Now that would be funny.

The old saying among lawyers was “If the facts are against you, pound the law; if the law is against you, pound the facts; if both are against you, pound the table.”
The American Left has been pounding the table for many decades. They claim to be “patriots,” but they display utter contempt for the very definition of the United States, its Constitution. They claim to be “for the common man,” but they completely ignore the overwhelming evidence that their policies oppress and impoverish the common man. They claim to stand for “open government,” but their preferred officials conduct all their business under cover of darkness…and then scream “Persecution!” when their machinations are uncovered.
All they have left is to make as much noise as possible, in the hope of drowning out the accusing voices multiplying against them. After all, both the facts and the law are against them, so what else is there?
Poor Francis, he forgets to give a single specific example of anything in support of his claims. Not by accident for sure. He thinks he’s on his forum where he can say anything, the heads will nod, the circle will jerk and any dissent is automatically locked out.
When he’s not running away and/or censoring any dissent whatsoever, he’s all rant and no bite.
Limbaugh never pounds the table!

But let’s look at one claim:

Only liberals were involved in all these things? Hmmm, not liberals by today’s definition. The people who did these things would be run out of the liberal circles.
I doubt all these things were done by liberals. I am dure that both liberals AND conservatives were involved but delude yourself into believing this. It makes for a fun day to watch the lunacy.
This is Darrel’s modus, he quotes people who no one takes seriously (I can play that game too Darrel) and uses their words to appear more intellectual and thinking than he is.
And Limbaugh, as far as I know, is not a lawyer so what difference does it make if he pounds the table?

I have no interest in that. Mr. Cable is an old acquaintance of mine and the truth of his comment is not addressed by simply saying “no one” takes him “seriously” (how would you know?). Who said the quote is irrelevant. What matters is if it is true. You suggest that it isn’t true but fail to engage the comment on even a single point.
This is quite an astonishing thread really. Bigd is concerned even worried that “the liberals,” people with a different viewpoint than that which is allowed on talk radio 90% of the time, might call in a speak.
Is this a level playing field? Of course not. The righties bought the radio stations and they control the message. Right wing nuts control the show in that they can screen away calls, hang up on calls, filibuster, cut off and speak over calls or with time delay even dump calls before they air (just in case someone like me gets though and hands them their ass).
If conservatives weren’t so blatantly wrong on the issues and the facts, I submit that they would be able to defend their material on a level playing field. But they cannot. This is why they wet their pants at the thought of anything like a “fairness doctrine” where something as outrageous as the act of CONSIDERING the other side is practiced or a dissenting viewpoint is allowed. Terrified of fairness! Conservatives get CREAMED in such a format because their claims do not and cannot hold up to careful, critical, skeptical scrutiny.

Darrel, you really are a riot. First of all let me correct you, I do not wet my pants and am scared of nothing, least of all a liberal. Second of all I wrote that I could not wait to hear this because you would get your ass handed to you. Yes, even you would get your ass handed to you because you do not know what you are talking about.
A fairness doctrine is anything but and a denial of free speech. But if it is so great why are TV stations exempt? Suppose the liberal biased MSM had something to do with that?
Second of all, show me where there is supposed to be a level playing field? If you pissants had anything people wanted to hear then liberal radio would flourish. It fails miserably everywhere because no one wants to listen to it.
There is no rule that says we have to make it fair or even or anything else. It is about competition and liberals cannot compete in the war of ideas.

Yes Darrel, I was making light of your propensity for dismissing those items with which you do not agree and then failing to even refute them. To you, it is simply enough to say that you have roasted them or could roast them or some other clap trap or that they are not credible and no one takes them seriously.
When you feel like it, you will recycle one of the hundred or so quotes you have saved and try to fit them into something.
