Obama Says Wanting To Keep YOUR Money Is Selfish

First we had Joe Biden telling us that it was patriotic to pay more in taxes. He said that the rich should pay more because it is the patriotic thing to do. I am pretty sure he did not mean that those who pay no taxes are unpatriotic but that is what the statement implies.

Then came Barack Obama preaching to us from the Communist Manifesto by telling Joe the Plumber that he [Obama] wanted to “spread the wealth”. This spread the wealth theme was similar to what Obama discussed in a 2001 radio interview where he expressed disappointment that the Supreme Court did not inject itself to bring about a spreading of the wealth.

Now we have Barack Obama saying that people who object to the rich paying more in taxes are expressing a selfish attitude. While discussing his plan and saying that it will help everyone move up and be better off (it won’t) he stated:

“John McCain and Sarah Palin they call this [spreading the wealth] socialistic,” Obama continued. “You know I don’t know when, when they decided they wanted to make a virtue out of selfishness.” ABC Political Punch

So, the Obama/Biden plan is that they will take more money from people making somewhere between $150 and $250 thousand dollars (In Obama’s infomercial, he said families making $200,000 a year) and give, or redistribute, it to those who pay little or no income tax. The Obama plan will increase the top tax rate from 35% to 40% and then that money will be used to send checks to people who pay NO income taxes.

Biden says doing so is patriotic and Obama says those who oppose are selfish.

Perhaps we should look at the charitable donations of the people that Obama and Biden believe are selfish and see how they compare to the candidates. Biden gave about $350 a year (would that be selfish of him). Obama gave more and a lot of it went to the church where anti American Pastor Jeremiah Wright spewed hateful and racist remarks (would this be an example of Obama’s patriotism). It is also worth mentioning that Obama has an uncle who was evicted, and aunt living in a slum and a half brother living in a hut in Kenya on his $12 a year salary. So excuse me if I doubt the sincerity of a man who says he wants to help everyone when he has not helped his own family. As president, Obama will not have to worry about taking care of his family. He can use your tax dollars to do it.

Having our money forcefully confiscated and given to someone else is not sharing and resenting the idea of doing so is not selfish. Taking money from one group who earns it and giving it to another that does not is definitely Socialism. Mr. Obama, when someone voluntarily gives money it is sharing, when money is forcefully taken and then shared, it is Socialism. There is nothing patriotic about that at all.

No matter how Obama tries to spin it and no matter how irked Joe Biden gets from the Marxist questions, the fact remains that Obama’s playbook could have been written by Marx.

No doubt though, that it was inspired by him.

It is not Obama’s JOB to make sure we are not being “selfish” with our money. It’s not his job to be the Money Police.

If he wants to do the right thing, he should think about giving more of his billions to his own family members before starting in on his hypocrisies of “patriotism” and “selflessness”.

OK, I admit it. I am in the tax bracket Obama wants to tax heavier and I am tired of him picking on me. I’m starting to take it personally. I hate to be the one to break it to him, but I spend a lot of money. The way the economy is going, that’s a good thing. In fact, I spend so much I wasn’t hurt with the recent investment and Wall Street issues. I don’t have any money there. I do however keep about 4 golf courses in business and I help the bottom line at Home Depot so much, they may have to file Chapter 11 if I stop spending there. I can still afford to buy a car, which is becoming a rarity. All of these things are good for the economy. I have 4 and a half employees, so it is a close-knit, personal business. I pay about 7.8 thousand dollars/month in federal income tax (we won’t even mention the other taxes). My employees pay taxes and try their best to keep afloat. So Barack, you want to take more of my money and give it to where? My 4 employess? No. But I could. If the Feds would stop taking so much from me now, I could give them more. Jackie and Melissa are overdue for raises. If he raises my taxes, I will probably have to let an employee go. Now multiply that times how ever thousands of small employers like me are in the country and tell me how that is good for the economy Barack. If you are elected and I have to cut an employee, I’m going to send you her name and address. If fact, I will try to start a coalition of small businesses to do the same. How would you like to have a list of thousands of people’s names that you personally cost them their jobs? All 3 of my girls are married with children. Their husbands work and yet they are struggling. If you would leave me alone or even better, cut my taxes, their lives would be better. They struggle to buy groceries, buy gasoline, pay utilites and have their kids’ birthday parties. And don’t give me some joke of a tax cut for them. $400 or 500 a year won’t make a real difference in their lives. Hell, I give them more than that out of my own pocket, not the business. Roxane lives 20 miles out of town and had no money for gas this weekend and payday isn’t until Tuesday, so I gave her $30. What if something urgent came up and she needed to get into town. Someone gave Jackie and her 2 kids tickets to go a big truck/tractor pull shindig for today in Augusta, which is 50 miles away. She didn’t have the money to go, so I gave her gas money and $30 a piece to spend on her kids. This is just one day in our lives Barack. I have told the girls do not ever, ever, not have grocery money and not tell me about it. That is not going to happen on my watch. In addition to Christmas bonuses, the last 2 years I have taken Jackie and Roxane (they are the only ones with small kids still) grocery shopping. That is one less thing they have to worry about over the holidays. It was a lot of fun. I don’t have the money to do big philanthropic gifts, but I try to take care of my little corner of the world. Don’t screw with that. I closed the office 1 Wednsday this summer and took the whole office and their kids, Roxane’s father and my mother to an Atlanta Braves gave. Several of the kids had never been, despite it only being 2 hours away. I gave all 3 of the girls $100 ahead of time to spend on their kids and swore then to secrecy so the kids wouldn’t know their Moms didn’t have the money to buy them things. I gave them money to help with school shopping this fall. Do you have better things than that to do with my money Barack? Have you ever had a business where you had employess to pay and worry about? Everybody you pay is always from donations and still is. And if you get elected, you still won’t have anybody to pay. And then you will write another book and go on the speaking tour and still won’t have employees to pay. It will never be personal to you. It will always be spending other people’s money. The entire government has become an entitlement program unto itself. This little town, as so many are, is struggling. The vast majority of my spending, I do here at home. The businesses need it. Is it more expensive? Of course. But I owe it to the community. Businesses are closing. Our one car dealership is teetering. And you want me to be able to less of all of this why? How does that help the economy? How does that help Washington, Georgia? How does that help Jack, Jackie, Roxane and Melissa? Try cutting everybody’s taxes a serious amount. 10-15%. Maybe 20%. See what happens to the economy then when people actually have money to spend. Maybe they can buy cars. Or you know what? Drumroll. Maybe even a house of their own. Jackie’s dream for the last 5 years is to buy a house of her own. She is 30. It makes me sad that that is probably not going to happen. I would co-sign the loan for her and Ray but they can’t even get in a position to do that. If Senator McCain is elected and my taxes get cut, I’m going to see to it that it happens. If you get elected, she will just be one more casualty in a failed propagandist tax program, used against the masses to do nothing except get your party in power. You want to talk about Main Street all the time. This little town of Washington, Georgia and thousands more around the country is Main Street. And my employees are Main Streeters. Don’t you dare do anything to hurt them. They are my family. Not literally, but they are just the same. Stop trying to gloss over things with broad brush strokes so we can’t see what is really going on. Let’s keep it personal.

I hope this can get done if Obama gets elected.

These two quotes were on Patriot Post and the first one is close to how I feel.

“You have to pinch yourself—a Marxist radical who all his life has been mentored by, sat at the feet of, worshipped with, befriended, endorsed the philosophy of, funded and been in turn funded, politically promoted and supported by a nexus comprising of black power anti-white racists, Jew-haters, revolutionary Marxists, unrepentant former terrorists and Chicago mobsters, is on the verge of becoming President of the United States. And apparently it’s considered impolite to say so.” —columnist Melanie Phillips

(EDITOR’S NOTE: Should Barack Obama succeed in deceiving a majority of voters next Tuesday, our readers have suggested two methods of protest: Either displaying your flag upside down [a sign of distress] or flying it at half mast — or both, for seven days, and doing the same on inauguration day, 20 January 2009.)

  5. David Kirk says:

Victoria I will indeed work toward that end. A coalition of small business across the country to send names to the White House of jobs lost due to taxation and spread the wealth Marxism.

  6. Patsy says:

David, you said a mouthful there. At the moment, we have 28 employees and we are scared to death. Our business partner owns 8 dental practices, the largest dental provider in the state. He has profit sharing for all of them. If Obama gets in, his new taxes on business will kill those profits and that money will be taken directly from staffs exactly like your girls. Don’t tell me Obama is giving them a tax cut. He’s going to cost them a fortune. The same goes for our employees. There are several who deserve raises, but we can’t afford any right now. Who the hell does Obama think he is? Calling us selfish because we don’t want him to destroy our businesses and put our employees out of work? If Obama were in front of me I’d spit in his face. The man is evil, I tell you, EVIL!

  7. David Kirk says:

Patsy I couldn’t agree more. Who does he think he is? He cares about nobody but himself. He panders to those who don’t work and pay no taxes, pretending that he has some interest in them. They are only a tool to try to get him elected. It goes beyond whether he cares about me or you. It is obvious that he does not. But more importantly he does not care about our employees, which we do. He would rather take potential money for them and give it to some welfare mom in Detroit whose only goal is to keep popping out babies and get a bigger check from the government. We can’t let this happen. If it does, I have got to find a more creative accountant. I give the Feds more than their fare share of my money now. I won’t give them 40% of it.

I am 70 years old and have followed politics all my life and have never seen any one person like Senator Obama. He took a life-long democrat and made a rebublican out of myself overnite,I use to be proud of the democratic party, not any more they are the worst this world has to offer and the audacity of this un-grateful man will hurt all Americans now and in the future years to come.
Further more the most amazing thing to myself is how so many people has come to adore this radical socialist who wants to hold america hostage to achieve his goal.

  9. Patsy says:

GeorgiaDawg, I am so sorry you have been so thoroughly betrayed. My late father in law, who just passed away in June, felt the same way you do. The Democratic Party left its rank and file members long ago, Obama as their nominee is the icing on that cake. Welcome to the Republican Party sir.
