Obama Might Throw Our Troops Under The Bus

Barack Obama is famous for throwing people under the proverbial bus. He has thrown his pastor, his grandmother and about any other person who was a threat to his quest for power under the bus so as to keep from being harmed. He recently threw his Attorney General under the now overcrowded vehicle. Now it looks like Obama might just well throw our troops under the bus.

The Telegraph UK is reporting that Barack Obama is considering signing on to the International Criminal Court (ICC) which will mean that our troops can be charged with crimes under an international organization. President Bush withdrew the US from the statute to keep our troops from being arraigned for alleged war crimes. Now they might not be protected:

The next logical step is for the United States to sign up to the ICC. That would flatter Obama’s ego as the conscience of the world. It would also put US servicemen at the mercy of any American-hating opportunists who might choose to arraign them on trumped-up charges before an alien court whose judges are likely to be ill-disposed towards America too.

This would, of course, leave the ICC open to charging President Bush for war crimes which might be what the left is looking for. In any event, this is not a good development and Obama should consider it carefully. Signing on could leave our troops at the mercy of those who don’t care for us very much.

Why anyone would serve in the military under Obama is beyond me. If I were still in the service I would get out or retire as soon as possible in order to keep from being The Evil One’s political pawn. Is it any wonder our troops do not trust the man?

So, vengeful Democrats could facilitate the indictment of President George W Bush and all his senior commanders in Iraq. American troops on active service have been shown in polls to have little confidence in Barack Obama. His overtures to the ICC will hardly reverse that tendency. [emphasis mine]

I urge my fellow service members to reconsider your service. If you are on the edge as to whether to reenlist please consider getting out and doing something else. This guy and his Democratic buddies do not have your best interests at heart.

I have always believed that military service was a good thing and a way to give back to a country that has given so much. When young people ask me for advice I tell them the pros and cons and encourage them to join if they truly want to serve.

For the first time in my adult life I find myself telling them to consider something else. Though I have encountered few Obama supporters who want to join the service I do encourage them to join.

They should have to suffer the consequences of their actions.

The ICC is an interesting subject.

I think the US doesn’t need to join the ICC because we typically take out our own garbage by my issue with not joining is that I support an ICC and I think the US lends credibility to it if we are party to it.

Frankly though the US can get whatever it wants from the UN basically by threatening to withhold funding so I don’t see why we can’t reevaluate the safeguards put in place to try and protect troops before Clinton signed on and have as serious discussion as to whether they are adequate enough and if not have them changed until we feel like they are.

My only point is nobody says Obama has to sign on to the ICC again as is. I think that if he wants us to be a party there needs to be more work done to meet our requests to protect our troops. Basically I don’t see why we can’t have it both ways.

Big Dig that is exactly what Obama wants. The only thing standing between him and absolute power here at home and the utter ruin of the US abroad is our men and women in uniform who have sworn to protect our Constitution and our way of life. The left have never really supported the military and have always believed that they were the problem. John Kerry threw them under the bus when he got back from Viet Nam and called them terrorists in Irag. Dick Durbin compared them to Nazi’s for God sake! Then he shed a few crocodile tears at a press conference/photo-op, and went to a party. Remember, Obama spoke during the campaign about a domestic security force equal in strength to our military (and presumably totally loyal to him). A weakened US military would make that extremely easy.

    You got that right.

I’m starting to see some conservatives push back on the ridiculous video that this site ran a few days ago that depicted the difference between when Bush met with troops and when Obama met with troops. As this post calls it:

The first video above is the cheapest of cheap shots. Marines in the Obama video have been clearly called to attention, and are standing at attention when he enters. Whooping it up for the Commander in Chief therefore is not an option. Period.

Some conservatives simply want to believe that Obama doesn’t support the troops and therefore the troops don’t support him and they are simply fixing the facts around that opinion.

The troops would be at attention when the song Hail to the Chief is played and should come to attention when someone announces the president (if the song is not played). However, they do not remain at attention the entire time and there were obvious applause lines built in that did not get the response expected.

However, the fact is the troops are leery of him and many do not support him, at least as of December 2008, after the election.

If I had still been in the Army this would be the time for me to leave. I dont trust the President and could never be part of his quest for power.

Thanks God we don’t have to suffer your presence in the Army any more. We are better off with thousands of men and women, including my humble self, who are smart enough to look beyond the president’s skin color and see him for what he really is: The best leader we have had for decades.

In my opinion, Obama is so cold-hearted, calculating, and cruel that he would probably stab his wife in the back if she ever opposed him. Bill, he is not just ruining the US abroad, but is making the US here another Germany. Eventually he will demand so much of us that we will have a civil riot in the US. That is why he doesn’t want us to own any guns.
