Obama Bypasses Senate Confirmation With Recess Appointment

Barack Obama is a hypocrite, of this we have no doubt because he has shown time and again that he will do the very same things he criticized others for. He has done some of the very things that Bush did and for which Obama criticized Bush but the Obama sock puppets remain silent. Why, this man is trying to run our country and fix things so he should have some room to operate. How can we get in the way of this gifted speaker?

Obama used the week long recess, yes I wrote WEEK LONG, to appoint a controversial figure to be the head of Medicare and Medicaid. Obama did not do this over the August recess or the Christmas (winter for you pagan progressives) recess, no he did it over a week long recess and he did it in order to avoid the confirmation process.

Dr. Donald Berwick will be a recess appointment because he is controversial and he is opposed by most Republicans. He has made statements in the past about the need to ration care (whether we will do it with our eyes open or closed as we do now) and he would have received some very tough questioning had he gone before the Senate.

The White House is trying to lay this hypocritical move on Republicans by claiming that Republicans wanted to stall the process for political reasons. This is not true and is an attempt to either rationalize the move or rewrite history. In either case, it is not true. Berwick was nominated in April and the Democrats have not set a schedule for his confirmation hearings. They could have done that but they do not want the whole health care issue, one opposed by the majority of voters, brought up again before the midterm elections. This is the real reason that Obama is making the recess appointment.

Unfortunately, this means that Berwick will be damaged goods. This is not my opinion but the opinion of (mmm mmm mmm) Barack Hussein Obama himself. When George Bush made the 2005 recess appointment of James Bolton to be UN Ambassador, Obama had this to say:

To some degree, he’s damaged goods,” said Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. “I think that means we’ll have less credibility and, ironically, be less equipped to reform the United Nations in the way that it needs to be reformed.

So according to Obama, Berwick will have less credibility and be less equipped to reform Medicaid and Medicare in the ways they need to be reformed.

HIS OWN WORDS ABOUT A RECESS APPOINTEE.

But wait, there’s more! When Bush made the 2007 recess appointment of Sam Fox as Ambassador to Belgium it was again, guess who, (mmm mmm mmm) Barack Hussein Obama who made the following statement:

It’s disappointing that President Bush would defy the will of Congress by appointing Sam Fox Ambassador to Belgium. I opposed Mr. Fox’s nomination because I had serious concerns about his candor, judgment, and qualifications for this important post. Appointing nominees that are opposed by a majority in Congress simply because they are political cronies is old style politics at its worst. Our nation’s ambassadors should possess strong credibility and character so that they may effectively represent U.S. interests overseas, and I don’t think President Bush applied that test with this recess appointment.

Well, well, well. Disappointing that a president would DEFY the will of Congress by making a recess appointment of someone opposed by members of Congress. Obama said a majority but we can’t know that because they never held the confirmation hearing. However, there were certainly people with concerns about the nomination because Obama indicates that he was one of them. So he was disappointed that the will of Congress was defied when he, Obama Almighty, was not able to question the person he opposed but he feels completely fine about appointing a person who is opposed by other members of Congress.

This is another example of Obama’s inability to lead. He talked a great game and feigned righteous indignation at the appropriate times but now that he is in the hot seat the very expectations he had of others do not apply to him.

This is the problem with people who have a messiah complex. They think they are above the rules, even the rules they once agreed with. It is equally true of those who hold Obama up as their messiah because they will completely ignore what he did or rationalize it.

Hear is some news for these people:

God gave us a Messiah, we need a president.

I for one don’t care. Every president confronts the reality of the job versus what he campaigned on. I’d hope that if nothing else Obama’s presidency will prepare me for what not to do or say when a Republican is in the White House in the future.

Obama has broken many campaign promises now and flip flopped on numerous others. This isn’t the first and it won’t be the last.

Only thing missing from your post is the often repeated conservative question “How’s that change working out for you?”

As Obama signs piece after major piece of his agenda into law, your group is left to the sidelines snickering at all the funny variations of Obama’s name you can come up with, talking about how Obama is our Messiah, or whining about little things like recess appointments. That change is working out great for me, thanks.

    • Big Dog says:

Certainly it is working out for you because you need someone to wipe your nose and butt.

It is too late for you because you acted a fool when Bush was in office and now act like that never took place.

You and your side were fond of screaming Bush lied, Bush lied and when Obama is caught in the same circumstances you all of the sudden do not care.

Because it is working out fine for you so screw everyone else. Screw the people who pay for you and those like you. It is working out for you and that is fine.

They are psuhing us toward Socialism which is what you want because you are not strong enough to run your own life, govern your own actions or provide for your family. All well and good, just say so, admit you are not much of a man and move on.

As for name calling, I can’t see where I had some variation of his name here in this post so I am unsure how that fits in. I seem to remember the name variations on Bush and they had a lot to do with Hitler, Nazi or chimp.

Your side is the one who called him sent from God and the messiah and he is the one who said he would reverse the rise of the water.

Since your education does not allow you to comprehend, this post is not about the recess appointment, it is about Obama doing that after he complained when Bush did it. in other words, he was the one whining.

I understand why he did it. he chose a guy who believes in redistributing wealth (like Obama) and who believes in rationing care and death panels. Obama would not want that in the public’s eye when he has a massacre at the polls to deal with.

He did nothing more or less than Bush did but I remember when Bush did it the leftists in the media (how redundant) went nuts over it and Obama went nuts over it. They were all discussing it.

Now that Obama did it, it is OK with you and whining on the part of anyone who points out the hypocrisy.

And he only signed a few which will come to a halt. And when they trun out bad for America we can come looking for you and others like you who supported it.

As for the whining part, Screw you.

As for the change working out for you, good. When it goes south and you complain i will be there to kick you in the ass for being stupid.

    • In on it not says:

You certainly cared when it was Bush doing it, you hypocrite. You suck Obamadong. And you like it.

    • Blake says:

From now on, as far as I am concerned, his name is Hussein, period.
If that joker wants to stick his nose up the muslim butt with his perversion of NASA’s agenda-(now we have to make the poor muslim “feel good about themselves”- WHAT?
That is a joke, and so is the recess appointment of Berwick, who, if he likes Britain’s health system so much, should use it himself- Please, Donnie, go there, and stay- you are the boil on the butt of ouor healthcare system.

      • Adam says:

It would help if you could first think of Muslims as anything other than our enemies that you’d love to see tortured and killed. Once you accomplished that you might see how silly the right-wing freak out over the NASA statements has been.

        • Big Dog says:

I am not freaked at the NASA thing. I just don’t think that the directive in any way has anything to do with the space program. If they said to see if there are some Muslim astronauts to take into space it would be one thing but what was directed is not the job of NASA and is not what taxpayer money should be spent on.

  2. Adam says:

“Certainly it is working out for you because you need someone to wipe your nose and butt.”

Not true in the least but feel free to continue saying that every few days.

“It is too late for you because you acted a fool when Bush was in office and now act like that never took place.”

No, I don’t act like it never took place and I said and did lots of silly things that run contrary to reality. I was very young and impressionable early in the Bush years when I first started writing and thinking about politics. What’s your excuse now?

“Screw the people who pay for you and those like you.”

    What’s that even mean?

“As for the change working out for you, good. When it goes south and you complain i will be there to kick you in the ass for being stupid.”

    Maybe.

    • Big Dog says:

I might have to kick high because you are taller than I but I will be there for your own good.

I need no excuse to point out how badly someone is running the country into the ground and how the Constitution is being ignored.

    • Big Dog says:

You should be able to figure the rest out.

And maybe, I guess you are saying that I might be there because the other part is not in doubt.

      • Adam says:

“…the other part is not in doubt.”

I have no doubt you’ll be here telling me I’m wrong even if it’s going North.

“I need no excuse to point out how badly someone is running the country into the ground and how the Constitution is being ignored.”

Well, you don’t need an excuse but you do need facts. So far most of your attacks on Obama have been recycled Bush attacks that you spent 8 years defending against. You’ve questioned the election, called him a failure, made fun of how he speaks, called him a Nazi, labeled things his “Katrina”, blamed him for a jobless recovery, complained about him playing golf, and many other smears I can’t even remember right now.

Those things all have at least one thing in common: They were all attacks used on Bush by liberals. You love them now, of course.

They’re very easy to use and they make your conservative readers cheer and jeer and they sound so full of reason and common sense. It’s all a bunch of partisan bologna though and we both know it.

        • Big Dog says:

Of course I labeled some things his Katrina. The same standard needs to apply. As far as other things, I think you have me mistaken with someone else. Bush quit playing golf when we went to war so I could not criticize him. I don’t know what you mean by questioned the election. If you are insinuating that I said it was stolen you are wrong or lying. Did I say ACORN had an influence and was involved in fraud, yes. And this is to point out what real fraud is, not the phony stuff you guys still talk about regarding 2000.

Nazi, yep when he does things that are remind me of that kind of leadership. Once again, equality. I don’t want you to call me a racist for treating the black guy differently than you treated the white guy.

As I have said, when Bush was in charge he was responsible for the things that happened because he was in charge. Now Obama is in charge so he is responsible.

You don’t have to like it and I don’t really care.

I do not like him, I believe he is a radical and wants Socialism and I will fight that with every fiber of my being.

Plenty of facts have been presented but the funny thing is you excuse things away or decide that a left wing source is a better one. If Obama cut the head off a little kid and it was on camera you would claim he merely gave the kid a close haircut.

You rationalize everything and do it under the guise of you have matured since Bush was in office.

          Poppycock.

So please forgive me if I fail to follow because I can’t think of anything I am attacking Obama for that Bush did however i will concede that in some instances I give Obama the same consideration the left gave Bush.

I like bashing him because he is an inexperienced twerp who cannot lead.

        • Adam says:

“I like bashing him because he is an inexperienced twerp who cannot lead.”

I can’t help but feel you’d love his leadership style a little bit more if his agenda was more conservative.

          • Big Dog says:

And you would be wrong. You might remember that I was against the last amnesty they tried to ram through and that was Bush. I have opposed many things done by conservative leaders either because I did not agree with what they were doing, I viewed it as outside the limits of the Constitution or I did not like the way they were trying to get it done.

            I apply those standards equally.

        • Blake says:

Adam, they are NOT smears if they are true, and THEY ARE TRUE.
Perhaps your guy should try and lead, instead of playing the blame game.
As far as the BP oil spill, if they had not insisted on mile deep water instead of 500 feet deep, we wouldn’t have this problem, now would we?
As far as Berwick’s recess appointment, having gone through surgery, I KNOW what my Doc and a few others I have talked to think of him and the way he will ration care in the Medicare and Medicaid systems.
As he said himself, ” It is NOT WHETHER we ration care, but whether we ration care with our eyes open.”
That is, to me a fairly damning statement, considering that most all, IF NOT ALL of the recipients of these programs are toward the end of their lives.
Say goodbye to your Nana, Adam, because these programs, under Berwick, will not pay for much of the care she might need.

  3. At some point, the hypocrisies and changes of posture for political advantage will cause a massive leap in popular understanding:

If right and wrong depend on whose conduct we’re discussing, there is no right or wrong.
If what’s lawful depends on whose offense we’re evaluating, then there is no law.

I just hope I live to see it.

    • In on it not says:

That of course ignores the fact that there is empirical right, and wrong, good and bad.

Conduct can certainly be right as much as wrong, it your living or dying has absolutely nothing to do with it. So die.
