Not Ready To Make Nice

Obama Error

For the past eight years the liberal part of this country has been unhinged. They have said the most vile things about President Bush and Republicans and they have worked against everything that he and his administration has tried to do. They have been so vile in their behavior that the phrase “Bush Derangement Syndrome” has been coined to describe their behavior. They were never inclined to work together to make this country better and, in fact, they worked to tear the country apart.

Now that they have won the White House they are telling us to come together for the good of the country. There is a website where the 52% who won and the 48% who lost exchange messages of bipartisan support. They tell us it is time to work together and that there are no hard feelings. People hold up signs telling us that we can make it if we are only good enough to come together in bipartisan fashion.

Screw That!

The 52% are the same people who, only four years ago, held up signs with maps of the US indicating the red parts were “Jesusland” and maps with “bomb here” as instructions for terrorists. They had signs discussing moving to Canada (very few did) and signs calling people who voted for George Bush some of the nastiest names. None of them held signs that said we needed to come together and work in a bipartisan fashion to make this country better. Eight years ago was the time for that to happen and their failure to accept the results and move on will come back to haunt them now.

The Dixie Chicks mouthed off about George Bush and their sales lagged. They were even more indignant and put the blame on the public who, they claim, were denying them their right to free speech. No, we just exercised our right not to support people with whom we disagree. Instead of an apology they came out with a new song entitled “Not Ready To Make Nice.” The first part goes like this:

Forgive, sounds good
Forget, I’m not sure I could
They say time heals everything
But I’m still waiting

Those words describe exactly how I feel about the way the left has acted over the past eight years and I am not ready to make nice with any of them. Barack Obama is the duly elected president of the United States but that does not mean that we now all have to drink his Socialist kool aid and fall in line. We will be there to critique his every move and to heavily criticize those that are not what we like. It is time for payback and payback it will be. Revenge is a dish best served cold and the dishes that will be served are at sub zero temperatures.

The left is only willing to work together so long as people are working toward their defined agenda. Anything that is contrary to their desires will be opposed. Look at how they treated John McCain. He has reached across the aisle quite often and the only reward he gets is a hand slap. McCain was a media darling because he was willing to work with the other side. The NYT endorsed him in the primary because if their guy lost, they would be comfortable with a guy who likes to play nice with the other side. However, as soon as the general hit the NYT changed its tone and brutalized McCain. Those of us who supported McCain were called racists every time we spoke or wrote and the Obama campaign was petty and small in how it treated rivals. The media was in the tank for Obama and they were unfair and extremely unkind to Sarah Palin.

This is what you get when you work with them or if your beliefs are different from theirs. No good deed goes unpunished and that is particularly true with the liberals in this country. The morons over at the Daily Kos have been absolutely brutal to George Bush and now the left expects us to ignore this and work together.

Perhaps the reason they want support is because they sold their souls to the devil in exchange for an inexperienced man who believes in Socialism and they know he will need help along the way in order for his plans to succeed. Not going to happen. As Ann Coulter wrote in her last column:

For now, we have a new president-elect. In the spirit of reaching across the aisle, we owe it to the Democrats to show their president the exact same kind of respect and loyalty that they have shown our recent Republican president.

Bingo! Or as the Dixie Chicks put it:

I’m not ready to make nice
I’m not ready to back down
I’m still mad as hell and
I don’t have time to go round and round and round
It’s too late to make it right
I probably wouldn’t if I could
‘Cause I’m mad as hell
Can’t bring myself to do what it is you think I should

You people made your beds now you have to lie in them. As for 52%, you can fold those signs up and stick them up your collective…

Quoting from a Dixie Chick song is about as bipartisan as I intend to be.

I am SO GLAD you wrote this. I am sick to death of hearing so many people (Democrats AND Republicans!) saying how we need to rally behind Obama now that he’s been elected, work together, unify, blahblahblah.

Unify over what, exactly? The Fairness Doctrine? Abortion? Higher taxes, maybe?

Forget it. We are where we are right now because of certain members of our party trying to play it moderate, trying to be bipartisan, trying to reach across the aisle.

When has that ever worked for us? Never, and now we have a socialist-borderline-communist president to show for it.

I don’t see liberals ever trying to reach across the aisle – Obama himself has shown he won’t do that.

So I say, screw unity. We stick together, build our party back up, and take back this country in 2012, because God knows what kind of shape it’ll be in by then.

  2. victoria says:

You d%$# right. MsWA I only hope we are still here and still free and still able to vote in 2012. It scares the bejeebers out of me that we have Hezbolla, Hamas, Castro, Kadahfi, Kim Jong Il, etc. just having big parties and dancing in the streets because American elected this man. It is crazy. They say well no one liked Bush–well since when are those kind supposed to like us. Our history is of us freeing countries from people like that. I want to know what they think he is going to do for them!!!???

  3. […] to the blogroll. 9 11 2008 Big Dog had a trackback at the Rott. I went over to look at his site, and I was impressed enough to link to him! Anyway, […]

  4. MsWA says:

Couldn’t agree with you more Victoria – it should scare the bejeebers out of EVERYbody that countries like Iran and terrorist groups like Hamas and Hezbollah are rejoicing that he was elected. Any rational person would be over-the-top concerned by that. But since when are liberals rational, I guess…

  5. victoria says:

Actually, I know what they think he is going to do for them. He is going to slash our military so that we are pretty much defenseless.

  6. Jo says:

    Can I grab that graphic?

  7. Jo says:

I wrote a blog post No Longer Proud of My Country and I think its the highest commented on by liberals since I start blogging about politics.

They called GW “your” president … well they can suck it up now … BHO is “their” president – not mine (sorry Rush).

  8. Patsy says:

Good for you, Big Dog. Personally, I wish the new President-elect well and hope he has a change of views not that he’s responsible for the safety and security of us all. NOT!

We have no hope of that happening at all. And we need to fight this crap every single solitary step of the way. We are now the opposition party and I intend to oppose everything.

  9. Adam says:

Shocker. The election wasn’t close, not even a little. That’s 53% Obama to 46% McCain if you haven’t noticed lately.

Yes, Obama is my president. He was elected without question by a majority of voters in a majority of states with 200 more electoral college votes.

You guys act like the 90’s never happened, that you never were deranged over Clinton, that liberals just invented hating on a president when Bush came along. Get real. The 90’s are back. Welcome to the minority, suckers. I hope you hate the next 4-8 years as much as liberals hated the last 8. You’ve all earned it.

  10. Big Dog says:

No Adam, the same number of people voted a the last election and it was no landslide and no mandate.

The Clinton years had the same ingredients, a press that ignored the problems with the guy before he was elected and then protected him as long as it could. The right was not vile and hateful and you would not know except what you read on leftist sites. You were too young to know and you did not pay attention because you were a kid. You told me that before so you only know Clinton from books.

Suckers is appropriate because you dumb asses were suckered into voting for a fraud. I will NOT let you cover his stupidity. I will not let you excuse away what happened. And remember, you will NOT be allowed to blame Bush after 1/20/09. From that day on it is all on the Dems and you guys will have it rough.

I will not hate the next 4 years because I refuse to let the gubmint take my 401 k and IRA. I will fight in a revolution to keep my money mine and will move it and take the penalty to keep them from redistributing it to you lazy liberals. No way.

I will have lots to write about and laugh at as you slobber all over Obama and cover his stupidity. 15-20% inflation, worst economy ever (the Bush economy was not bad and only went under AFTER Dems took control).

Have fun Adam but I don’t want to hear a word about how Obama is treated because payback is a Mother Fu**er….

  11. victoria says:

Welcome to the minority, suckers. I hope you hate the next 4-8 years as much as liberals hated the last 8. You’ve all earned it.

Adam, you @#$$% of #$%^&* you people have no F#$%^ing idea of what you have done. It is you people who have divided this country over killing babies, and being absolutely stupid because we are at WAR. You really do think freedom is just passed down through our genes. Smarts were not passed down to Liberals through genes let me tell you.

Patriot Post–this week–However, Obama and his radical Leftists should not underestimate the concern tens of millions of my fellow Patriots share about the assault on our Constitution that will ensue on 20 January 2009. When the next administration commences to trample on our Constitution — and they will — they risk the potential of civil disobedience at least equal in proportion to the degree of constitutional violation.

Thomas Jefferson insisted, “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” Could Americans take up arms against each other, Patriots in defense of our Constitutional Republic? Surely not again. However, anyone who thinks this prospect is preposterous should put their ear closer to the ground.

  12. Adam says:

You guys crack me up. Cuss all you want you unhinged lunatics of the right. Your side had total control and used it to become a total failure. Now your kind controls virtually nothing. Power can shift dramatically one election to the next but for now you have to sit there and think about the failure that is the conservative movement in America.

  13. Big Dog says:

I am ready to take up arms should the need arise. The problem with Adam and people like him is that he does not know what personal responsibility is. Oh, he might have some himself but he does nto think it is a trait possessed by others and that the government should take care of them.

Health care, they think it is a right. Everyone has access to health care in this country EVERYONE but Adam and his ilk want someone else to pay for it. They believe it is a right. What next, a right to a house or car so someone else pays for it? Then, free child care so someone else pays…

Health insurance is not that expensive and there are already programs in place to help the indigent. Adam and others believe that we should all be throwing money into a big pot and dividing it equally. That never works and it will not here.

I recommend that you stop giving to any charity that supported Obama, if you are small business and have to fire an employee fire an Obama supporter and make any entity with whom you do business pay for their support.

As for my retirement money. It is not leaving me. Fu*k all those who think they have a right to it.

Any member of Congress who votes to take it should be hanged for their illegal confiscation of our money.

  14. Big Dog says:

Yeah Adam, and you and those at Kos were paragons of virtue.

Conservatism is not a failure. No conservative has been in control. Bush is not one, McCain is not one.

The country was in good shape his first 6 years despite liberal opposition and sabotage. It is payback time.

You think we can only sit on the side but we have enough in the Senate to thwart anything we do not like.

No, the Conservative movement is not a failure. People who failed to be conservative failed.

Liberalism has failed each time it was tried. It is full of racists who keep blacks in plantations and forces others toward Socialism.

You think there are not enough of us to make a difference? You guys try screwing with the things we hold dear and there will be problems.

For now, I know how to take care of me and my family and that includes not giving any more to government. It also includes slapping liberals around every chance I get to point out the failure of the one.

  15. victoria says:

failure that is the conservative movement in America.
You winey little sap–you have no idea what failure is. You will see what failure has been coming since the Carter era and is going to be pushed over the edge with Obama. There is not enough money to take anymore. When you are standing in the bread line then ask a conservative for help or a soldier that you stabbed in the back.

  16. Adam says:

Again with Kos? You know I’ve read your site more this morning than I’ve read Kos all year, right?

Oh, I get it. You’ve now divorced yourself from the GOP so you won’t have to feel like your vision for America was soundly rebuked last week. Too late. The policies of the Bush administration and the GOP which you support were put on trial, found guilty, and sentenced to exile. Maybe you’ll be allowed back in 2010 if you play your cards right.

  17. Adam says:

    victoria:

Need a paper bag? You’re going to hyperventilate if you keep this up.

  18. victoria says:

Adam your Saul Alinsky ridecule tactics don’t work with me. I am way older than you are and you are nothing more than a little boy standing there demanding his way as with all Liberals. And as with all spoiled brats who grow up demanding their way and getting it from their parents it eventually comes down to the law having to smack them down.

  19. Adam says:

    victoria:

    Shallow breaths.

  20. Big Dog says:

No Adam, you don’t get it. I have not divorced myself from anything. I made a statement of fact. Conservatism was not put on trial, there were no conservatives in the mix.

The GOP was put on trial. As fot he Bush administration, you know that I have not always supported what it did so don’t act like I marched in lockstep.

You were opposed to everything he did. You viewed him as illegitimate even though recount after recount showed him the winner.

Obama received a lot of votes but he is no more legitimate than Bush. They were both duly elected. You have your wish, a Democratic Congress and a Democratic President.

No one to blame now when things go wrong. You guys are in for a fit.

  21. Big Dog says:

My Adam, you certainly have changed your attitude since your guy won.

You now attack people and ridicule them? That civil discussion you talked about…

Oh, typical cowardly liberal. Head in sand when losing, brave when in front.

Victoria, take a deep breath, let it out slowly then make a fist and punch a liberal in the nose.

As for Adam, don’t pay attention to him. His mother and father are the government and he knows not how to take care of himself without someone holding his hand. He is young and foolish.

Remember, if you are not liberal at 20 you have no heart and if you are not conservative at 40 you have no brain.

Adam will always be a liberal….

  22. victoria says:

The other winey whimperers are all over on other sites trying to make nice and we still have Adam and it is a wonder we haven’t seen Bunny around lately.

  23. Adam says:

    Big Dog:

Ha. Alright, fine, fine, you are right. You know I typically only rant against you on this site, but victoria has a history of unhinged radical attacks on me without understanding where I stand on all issues, specially religious issues she seems so keen to throw out there.

    victoria:

I apologize for my sarcasm. I just can’t help but laugh when I see conservatives making the same unhinged baseless remarks that I made in 2004 when the GOP swept Democratic losers out of every corner they could hide in.

  24. Robert says:

Yep NOT MAKING NICE.. Going to be as HATEFUL aand spiteful to THEIR PRESIDENT as they were to ours…Get ready ADAM, it’s going to be a lot of fun for you.. Defending your messiah’s decisions will be a very difficult for you being you will probably be unemployed..

I will not be unemployed though, I deliver welfare checks for the government, so MY work will be swamped with business..

  25. Big Dog says:

Adam, at least you can admit that your attacks were unhinged…

I know you and I know most of your beliefs. I know you oppose abortion but that you think it should be legal, unless I am misguided as to what you have said.

  26. Adam says:

I will not be unemployed either. I deal in web technology so folks like you can always have a place to talk bad about folks like me.

  27. victoria says:

    religous issues heh—
    John Adams
The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were the general principles of Christianity. I will avow that I then believed, and now believe, that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God.
    John Quincy Adams
In the chain of human events, the birthday of the nation is indissolubly linked with the birthday of the Savior. The Declaration of Independence laid the cornerstone of human government upon the first precepts of Christianity.

    Benjamin Rush

I do not believe that the Constitution was the offspring of inspiration, but I am as satisfied that it is as much the work of a Divine Providence as any of the miracles recorded in the Old and New Testament.

    George Washington
The blessing and protection of Heaven are at all times necessary but especially so in times of public distress and danger. The General hopes and trusts that every officer and man will endeavor to live and act as becomes a Christian soldier, defending the dearest rights and liberties of his country.

    Noah Webster
All the… evils which men suffer from vice, crime, ambition, injustice, oppression, slavery and war, proceed from their despising or neglecting the precepts contained in the Bible.

These are just some quotes from the founding fathers. Where do you stand on the religous issues that I don’t already know. That seperation of church and state lie I am sure.

  28. Adam says:

It’s one of those trades I picked up on the godless west coast…

  29. Adam says:

    victoria:

Maybe someday we’ll talk about it when you come down off your moral high horse. Until then I’m going to continue to laugh at your crazy talk.

  30. victoria says:

No bigger of a moral high horse than you are with all your liberal bleeding heart bull.

  31. Adam says:

Fair enough, but when have I judged you based on that? When have I judged you at all? Let’s just leave it at that.

  32. victoria says:

    Ok

  33. Patsy says:

Adam, why don’t you just STFU? You are the biggest idiot on this site. You don’t have a f**king clue what you’ve just elected. Don’t expect the majority of conservative Americans to bend over and take it up the wazoo.

YES, THAT’S RIGHT — THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS ARE CONSERVATIVE.

YOUR GUY WON BECAUSE A LOT STAYED HOME AND DIDN’T VOTE, NOT BECAUSE THEY VOTED FOR OBAMA!

  34. Big Dog says:

Folks, Adam is not a bad guy. Let’s allow him his gloating.

We will have the next 4 years for our gloating over the mistake.

He can gloat in the moment but we will have the future.

  35. Adam says:

You act like the first time something goes wrong you’ll have the goods on me. I think that’s kind of funny. I don’t work under the impression Obama is or will be some savior or a perfect president. I was never that kind of Obama supporter and that ain’t my thing. Looking back there are several things I disagree with Clinton’s administration about and I’m pretty sure there will be policies I don’t support this time either.

Excuse me for being in the 75% of this country that thinks things are headed the wrong direction. I can’t help but be hopeful that a new president will offer a new direction. We’ll see how it goes.

  36. Big Dog says:

No, it won’t be a matter of the first time. It will be the cumulative results of failure. High interest rates, high unemployment and all the other things that Democrats have caused and blamed on Bush. Only he won’t be there to blame.

The financial mess was their fault and they successfully blamed it on Bush but when he is gone they will have to take the blame.

You read about Clinton and the time before him, I lived it and the Clinton years were not as great as Dems make them out. His numbers and Bush’s numbers were the same and yet Clinton great, Bush bad.

75%? How much is manufactured by the media and the poll question.

I bet in 4 years more than that will want a new direction.

If we get attacked by terrorists how will you feel if Obambi starts a war or uses the military?

How will you feel if the Conservatives who make up about 80% of the military decide not to join and leave in record numbers and you get drafted by Obama to make up the shortfall? Will you still support him?

  37. Adam says:

You like hypotheticals? What if the interest rate is good, unemployment low, potential terrorist threats are dealt with in a reasoned and responsible manor, and the majority of the country likes the direction? Then will you still not support Obama?

  38. Войска ПВО says:

    Mr Dog,

Great sentiments! May I also add a suggestion for another anthem we could appropriate (from a cross-post I made at PJM):

Oh we’re not gonna take it
No, we ain’t gonna take it
Oh we’re not gonna take it anymore

We’ve got the right to choose it
There ain’t no way we’ll lose it
This is our life, this is our song

We’ll fight the powers that be just
    Don’t pick our destiny ’cause
You don’t know us, you don’t belong

Oh we’re not gonna take it
No, we ain’t gonna take it
Oh we’re not gonna take it anymore

    Oh you’re so condescending
    Your gall is neverending
We don’t want nothin’, not a thing from you

Your life is trite and jaded
    Boring and obfuscated
If that’s your best, your best won’t do!

-Twisted Sister, “We’re not gonna take it!”

By the way, who is that guy in your favorite video link? He’s fantastic!

  39. Big Dog says:

That is my friend Zo. He has great videos at his You Tube channel. look him and his site up.

He is a patriot and he has his head screwed on right…

No, we ain’t gonna take it…
