No Viagra At Taxpayer Expense

I wrote some time ago about all the prescriptions for drugs to treat erectile dysfunction. These drugs were being paid for with taxpayer money through Medicare and Medicaid. These programs are supposed to be for necessary treatment, things that, if left untreated could cause a decline in health. Well, it took a hurricane to do it but it looks like there will be no more sex on the taxpayer nickel.

The House also voted to prohibit Medicare and Medicaid coverage for erectile dysfunction drugs such as Viagra, at a projected savings of $600 million over five years, in order to pay for health care and extended unemployment benefits for Gulf Coast hurricane victims.

I am glad they did this. The only people who can have sex on taxpayer money are politicians. Maybe we can cut their pay and send it to the hurricane victims.
