No True Pro-Life Democrats And None With Principles

Bart Stupak and his cohorts who claimed to be pro-life are nothing more than typical Democrats who put party before principle. Stupak pushed for anti abortion language in the original House bill and he vowed not to vote for the Senate Bill unless language was added that would take away the funding for abortion. By mid-afternoon today he had changed his mind and decided to vote yes.

Did he do it because language had been added to the “fix-it” bill? Did he do it because one of his eight proposals was adopted?

No, he did it because Barack Obama promised to sign an Executive Order spelling out what is and what is not allowed. Stupak gave his yes vote for a promise that Obama would sign a piece of paper that cannot change a law (if there is a court battle the law will win) and that can be rescinded at any time by Obama or future presidents. Stupak became a Dupe-Hack. And he demonstrated that there is no way for one to actually be pro-life and be a Democrat. When push came to shove the Democrat shined through and the so called principled position took a back seat. As Phyllis Schlafly wrote:

“It is naive for any elected official, especially one who describes himself as ‘pro-life,’ to expect that a promise to issue an Executive Order that reasserts the intentions of the Hyde Amendment will be fulfilled by the most pro-abortion president to ever sit in the White House. Perhaps Mr. Stupak and his fellow pro-life Democrats forget that President Obama’s first Executive Order was the repeal of the Mexico City Policy to allow for international funding of abortion.”

“Not only would an Executive Order be rendered meaningless in the face of Congress passing legislation which actively provides for the massive expansion and funding of abortion services, but anyone who doubts the abortion tsunami which awaits this bill becoming law lives in a fantasy world.”

~snip~

“Mr. Stupak and his Democrat followers have now clarified that you cannot be pro-life and be a Democrat. If abortion was truly their biggest issue, they wouldn’t willfully align themselves with the Party of Death.”

“This vote will expose the myth of the ‘pro-life Democrat.’ With this single vote, the Democratic Party will divide our nation into the Party of Death and the Party of Life, and future elections will never be the same.” Yahoo News

There is no doubt, barring a miracle like a sink hole swallowing the Capitol, that this will pass in the House. I have a feeling that the Senate version of the bill will not only be signed into law but will remain the law minus the so called “reconciliation fixes” because many items in the bill are not budget items and will be struck down. Democrats do not have the votes to over rule the motion to remove the items in question. In fact, the entire reconciliation bill might end up being tossed because it contains items dealing with Social Security and reconciliation bills cannot contain any SS items in them.

Republicans have been trying to discuss this with Senate Democrats but they are all out of reach. Republicans claim that the Senate Democrats are slow walking in order to have the House vote on the Senate bill first so that their bill will become the law of the land.

I do not like this entire mess and I know it will further divide our country while bankrupting us despite what liberals claim. They do not know what they are talking about and see things through the intoxication of Kool Aid and some really good weed.

I do think though, that it would be absolutely hysterical if the Senate bill passes and they cannot deliver on reconciliation like Reid promised. Many Democrats will be unhappy and left hanging in the wind.

Now that will be funny. At least we can all laugh while on the road to ruin.

  1. “Democrat” and “principles” don’t belong in the same sentence. Every one of those bastards is for sale, for the right price. “Pro-life” Stupak has proved it.

There will be a reckoning. I pray it will come soon enough to save America from these fascist pigs, these vermin who believe their authority over us is unlimited and innate, unbounded by the Constitution. My great fear this morning is that the Republicans who’ll replace them will be tempted to preserve the edifices of power they’ve erected, saying things like “Oh, we can fix it; it just needs some fine tuning.”

We need a second American Revolution.

  2. Adam says:

I guess I must be indeed living in a fantasy world since I think the idea of a “abortion tsunami” is about as funny as it gets. Keep dreaming, wing nuts. Fear mongering is all you have…

Make sure you sleep with your gun in one hand and a bible in the other because our liberal/progressive/commie/socialist/marxist/facist/nazi/baby killing war on everything great about America is on schedule…

    • Blake says:

Are you SURE, Adam? I mean, Nancy Pelosi might need a LOT of stem cells to keep her from looking like a Picasso- sha probably eats fetuses for breakfast- she already has a form of Spongiform encephalophy (Mad Cow Disease)- so the demand is there- remember, she has enough money to buy a whole farm of crack ho’s who can spit out fetuses fast enough to satisfy even her insatiable appetite. She could even have a warehouse under her family’s winery- with her, ANYTHING is possible.
      She IS insane, you know-

  3. Adam says:

    From ThinkProgress:

Despite the bluster, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and President Obama successfully shepherded health care reform through the House by a 219-212 vote, liberal and conservative Democrats standing together to give 32 million more Americans health insurance. Just as the attacks of “death panels, “socialism,” and “tyranny” were flimsy lies, the predictions that President Obama’s health care agenda was dead were tissue-paper threats. Even after George W. Bush is gone, conservatives continue to be all hat and no cattle.

    Ouch.

    • Big Dog says:

Ouch? From them? Come on, who expects anything less?

“House Democrats last night passed President Obama’s federal takeover of the U.S. health-care system, and the ticker tape media parade is already underway. So this hour of liberal political victory is a good time to adapt the ‘Pottery Barn’ rule that Colin Powell once invoked on Iraq: You break it, you own it. This week’s votes don’t end our health-care debates. By making medical care a subsidiary of Washington, they guarantee such debates will never end. And by ramming the vote through Congress on a narrow partisan majority, and against so much popular opposition, Democrats have taken responsibility for what comes next — to insurance premiums, government spending, doctor shortages and the quality of care. They are now the rulers of American medicine. … While the passage of ObamaCare marks a liberal triumph, its impact will play out over many years. We fought this bill so vigorously because we have studied government health care in other countries, and the results include much higher taxes, slower economic growth and worse medical care. As for the politics, the first verdict arrives in November.”

      WSJ

There will be accusations and claims from all sides. The reality is in the WSJ piece, If you break it, you own it. If all goes well then Democrats have nothing to worry about but when stuff hits the fan then they cannot, nor we we allow them to, blame Republicans or anyone else.

I can’t wait until all the snot nosed college kids and other young Obama freaks who think they will get free health care get harassed by the IR-SS for not having it or to see the expressions when they are told they have to buy it.

But, the first hurdle for Dems is November. Let’s see how that works out and then we will guage how the public really feels.

      • Adam says:

It’s not ouch as in, “I never thought they’d think that,” but more of an ouch as in it’s absolutely true and well said.

As for the WSJ, I like that they try to equate the madness and disaster that is the Iraq war (which is 7 years in now by the way) with passing a health care reform bill. Slick, right?

But we’re used to it now from you regressives. Billions for wars that don’t seem to want to end? Horray! More! More!! FREEDOM! … But wait! Billions for health care reform? Boo!! BOO!! Hiss! Socialism! NAZIS! FACISTS! RAWARR! RAWWWRR!

  4. Big Dog says:

    Longer Adam,
Bush Hitler, Bush Hitler…. How dare you people act undignified with respect to Democrats and Barry Owebama? Name calling is undignified and will not be tolerated unless directed at some Republican we do not like. Owebama and the Democrats know what is good for you now get out of my way I need my lips back on the teat of government. Mommy, Daddy, Are you in line at the free gubmint clinic. Hurry now so the taxpayers can foot your bill.

    • Adam says:

I’m sorry that you’re so upset by the progressive victory last night that you have to make it personal and attack me and my family. All you’ve done for days is launch attacks and insults. Stay classy.

      • Big Dog says:

My distaste for the progressive disaster has nothing to do with you or your family except that I hate liberals/progressives. I can’t stand blood suckers.

Keep it classy? Look at what you have written in the last few weeks and then get back to me on that.

As far as it goes though, I’ll keep it any way I want. Your progressive ass is a guest here and only because I allow it.

Now get back to that teat.

      • victoria says:

I have never heard Big Dog say anything about your family you liar.

        • Big Dog says:

I have not said anything derogatory about them. I did use them in examples about how Adam would feel if what he advocates happened to them and he got upset. Yes, I wrote come on mommy and daddy but that was not derogatory.

Progressives breed children dependent on the government. They are unable to care for themselves or think for themselves. Someone has to hold their hands or they cannot cross the street.

        • Adam says:

Try to read a little bit and keep up before you call me names, Victoria.

Yes, Big Dog has often used my family in examples because he has a habit of getting petty and small when his facts or logic are questioned. It gets really bad when progressives are kicking ass and forcing regressives to retreat back to their false narratives.

        • Darrel says:

VIC: “I have never heard Big Dog say anything about your [Adam’s] family you liar.”>>

          DAR
He has done it repeatedly and this is easy to show. Just ask if you would like examples.

      • Blake says:

I too hate whining, progressive people who feel that government owes them a living, or that health care is a right- it is not.
Nowhere in the Constitution is there ANY mention of such a right.
Progressives always feel they are entitled, and yet they do the least for America- they are the anchor that prevents us from floating free, instead, they want (and need, for their own validation) to drag us down.
Fair is a human concept, and is not found in the real world.
        Quit crying, and grow up.

  5. victoria says:

Well aren’t you just the little cry baby if he just called them mommy and daddy as he says. I don’t know how old they are but I can just imagine that what Big Dog said was, probably something to the effect that the cost of their hip replacement or heart by-pass divided by their age wouldn’t add up to be cost effective to the governement and therefore bye bye mommy or daddy. You are so naive that you actually think that OCastro wants to help people. You actually sit there and eat up his every word and believe him. I sometimes can’t believe the magnitude of your stupidity. I feel sorry for you though and still really don’t want to see anything happen to you anymore than I want it to happen to me and my loved ones.
    “A CONFEDERACY OF FOOLS”
    Author unknown.
“The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of
entrusting a man like him with the presidency. It will be easier to limit
and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary
common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such
a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious
than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails us. Blaming the prince of
the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made
him their prince. The republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after
all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such
as those who made him their president.”

    • Adam says:

“I sometimes can’t believe the magnitude of your stupidity.”

Again I’ll remind you that my comments are generally aimed at Big Dog and not at you so feel free to ignore me since you find me so stupid that you can’t help but call me names. I always find it’s a waste of time talking to you anyway.

  6. Big Dog says:

No Victoria, what happens is Adam espouses some stupid thing that could harm people and then I ask how he would feel if it happened to his wife or parents and he takes it as a personal attack. So if he says that we should allow terrorists to be tried in the courts and that if they are not found guilty they should be released and we should not be afraid but then I say would he feel that way if one of the released kills his wife he takes it as an attack. It is a legitimate question. You see, it is OK if they kill our loved ones just not theirs.

But see, it is OK if it happens to you. As long as it does not happen to them. This is why Congress does things that it exempts itself from. As long as it happens to you it is OK.

It is not petty and it has nothing to do with Adam’s delusions of people getting their butts kicked. He has never given one (but I bet he has gotten plenty).

Real Patriots will stand ready to protect and defend against all enemies foreign and domestic.

    • Adam says:

      “It is a legitimate question.”

Wrong. There is nothing legitimate about fantasizing about the death of my family simply because you’re so arrogant as to assume I speak without considering the real ramifications of my ideas. But again when your facts or your logic are questioned you bully up and talk tough and look like a fool while doing so. It’s a pattern with you. We all see it.

      • Big Dog says:

No one fantasized about the death of your family. I don’t want anything to happen to them. But it there is nothing wrong with making a question personal to give some perspective.

I have used this before with my family. When I discuss rapists and child molesters I say if it happened to one of my family members they would never find the person who did it and that he better hope the cops found him before I did.

Asking how you would feel if it were one of your loved ones is legitimate and gives a different perspective on the argument.

But you look at it as if someone fantasized about it.

        Shameful really.

        • Adam says:

“But it there is nothing wrong with making a question personal to give some perspective.”

Just another way you bully people you think are wrong and uniformed. I don’t expect you to own up to it because I’d be pretty ashamed of it as well.

    • victoria says:

People like Adam have lost all reasoning and thinking ability apparently and cannot tell the difference between an example of the consquences of certain actions and actually and truly fantasizing about the death of his family. Either that or it is just another Alinskyite tactic to try and get you to feel embarassed or guilty and shut up your objections to this current government. As in his statement in a former post about “Yea we get it, you hate poor people.” Well, I can tell you, his and Darrel’s tactics fall on deaf ears with me because I know that truly caring for the people of this country does not lie with more and more government handouts and the eventual ruin of capitalism. Which is Obama’s goal.

  7. Big Dog says:

I am not ashamed and I have owned up to what I actually did not the fictitious BS you imagined.

And you want to know something?

I will do it again and again and again.

It is not bullying. Only the pants wetters would think that.

    • Adam says:

“It is not bullying. Only the pants wetters would think that.”

You deny it even as you do it. Hilarious. I respect you as a person and a friend but I’ve never respected your ideas and this is exactly why. You act like you are on a playground.

      • Big Dog says:

Oh well, if this is too hard for you then let me stop. As I recall you were the one who used these terms with regard to terrorism.

        Were you bullying?

And believe me, that was not bullying. I know how to bully and that was not bullying.

        • Adam says:

Let’s just get back to talking about how great a victory the health care bill has been for the Democrats even if it costs them even more seats in November.

  8. victoria says:

“I respect you as a person and a friend but I’ve never respected your ideas and this is exactly why. You act like you are on a playground.”
You should have had more smarts than to come on here today after what happened yesterday knowing that every conservative in the country is mad as hell. I mean it is just another example of your stupidity to come on here and defend what happened and then cry and feel insulted when Big Dog or others don’t just roll out the red carpet for you and treat you the way you think you deserve.

    • Adam says:

Yes, I always for some reason expect your side to act like adults following progressive victories and I just end up looking stupid for it. When will I learn?

      • Big Dog says:

Yes Adam, I remember how you acted with all the conservative victories under Bush. Tax cuts, vote to go to war against terror, Patriot Act, oh you were the paragon of virtue.

I guess you expect more from us than from yourself, understandable.

And I know you did not have the Alinsky book out. You are typing and when you read that book your other hand is occupied.

        Ooops, more bullying…

        • Adam says:

“I guess you expect more from us than from yourself, understandable.”

Well, yeah. You always remind me how I’m just a snot nosed brat and you’re the seasoned, older adult. So yeah…

        • Adam says:

But let’s survey the difference. Let’s see. I was a bit unhinged about going to war because it would kill people using my tax dollars? That’s kind of like how you oppose the health care bill now, right? It’s going to cause the senseless deaths of so many people, right?

  9. Big Dog says:

It was a victory. Great, eh. Obama, despite what he said, was worried about what it would mean to him. A real leader would have done it right.

The bribes and back room deals. All bad.

Maybe we can have such a victory that we have a veto proof majority. Now that would be great, repeal and nothing your side could do.

Would you scream or celebrate the conservative victory? Or is it wrong to make it personal like that?

    • Adam says:

“The bribes and back room deals. All bad.”

One man’s bribe and back room deal is another man’s political maneuver to accomplish major reform legislation. It’s like pork. One man’s pork barrel is another man’s public works project.

“Now that would be great, repeal and nothing your side could do.”

You can dream maybe but in your heart you know that won’t happen.

  10. Big Dog says:

Well one day Adam you will grow up and learn to fend for yourself.

    Then again, maybe not…

  11. Big Dog says:

I guess to someone who thinks nothing is worth fighting for the deaths were senseless.

And the health care bill will certainly not save lives. People with insurance die every day.

It will cost trillions of dollars and cause the collapse of our country.

  12. Big Dog says:

I guess the deals would be OK if they added the cost of them to the health care cost. After all, the deals are part of the cost and should be added.

Where do we hide that money.

  13. Big Dog says:

I don’t see it as senseless.

But it is also a war Obama promised to end immediately. He is behind schedule.

    • Adam says:

Well, he promised health care as well. I guess you can’t get them all…

    • Darrel says:

Bigd: “it is also a war Obama promised to end immediately.”>>

      DAR
Not true. In fact he specifically promised NOT to do that.

      Bigd: He is behind schedule.”>>

      DAR
Last I checked, he was ahead of schedule for Iraq. Afghanistan may be a different story, but that’s hardly his fault. No one rightly blames him for Bush’s disasters. See below.

      D.
      ——————-
“More than a year after Barack Obama took office, the president is still discovering how bad things are. At a March 12 briefing on Afghanistan with his senior advisers, he asked whether the police will be ready when America’s scheduled drawdown begins in July 2011, according to a senior official who was in the room. “It’s inconceivable, but in fact for eight years we weren’t training the police,” replied Caldwell, taking part in the meeting via video link from Afghanistan. “We just never trained them before. All we did was give them a uniform.” The president looked stunned. “Eight years,” he said. “And we didn’t train police? It’s mind-boggling.” The room was silent.” —Newsweek

  14. Big Dog says:

Darrel, you should read what I wrote. I have not said anything ABOUT his family. I put them in situations and asked if he would like it if it happened to them.

I do not recall calling them names (I don’t know them) and I did not wish them any harm.

    There is a difference.

    • Adam says:

There is nothing funny about debating the definition of the word “funny” when you say something like “it would be funny if terrorists killed your family.”

    • Darrel says:

Bigd: I have not said anything ABOUT his family.”>>

      DAR
Of course you have. You have repeatedly been insulting and demeaning toward his family. Perhaps you are oblivious to your behavior.

      D.

    • Adam says:

But unfortunately the rule of the school yard bully states that when I ask you not to bring my family into arguments in ways I find offensive then I’m just crying and whining. It’s all about the school yard, isn’t it?

  15. Big Dog says:

Obama said he would begin removing the combat troops immediately and have them all out in 16 months. Then he said they would be reduced in 16 months.

  16. Big Dog says:

    Not even close Darrel.

I could be though. I just have not.

  17. Big Dog says:

Yes Adam, you find it offensive. You will have to learn to live with life’s offenses. I find lots of things offensive but they keep happening.

Adults learn to live with those things especially when they are only offensive to you.

I have not insulted your family. I do not know them. I just made the debate personal. It is tough when it hits home.

    • Adam says:

“I just made the debate personal. It is tough when it hits home.”

Wrong still. It doesn’t hit home because you’re the only one that thinks I have a political view point without considering how it would affect my family. It might come as a shock to you that progressives aren’t just progressive because we’re stupid or uninformed. This goes contrary to your world view of course though so take that idea in slowly…

  18. Thomas Jackson says:

Its sad to see those who love the freedom of their chains. Its little wonder how Stalin, Hitler or Castro came to power with the room temperature left destroying society.

They have done us a service by revealing their true face. Now Americans can make preparations for what is to come, or put on their chains.
