More On Kerry And Cheap Political Points

I wrote yesterday about John Kerry’s response to Rush Limbaugh. Part of what Kerry said is:

“The people of Israel and the Jewish community don’t need Rush Limbaugh to tell them who stands with them, and no one has time for right wing trying to score cheap political points while Israel fights to defend its very existence.”

Notice how John Kerry equates criticism of the Democrat’s (in particular Bill Clinton) policies toward Israel as an attempt of the right wing to score cheap political points. I find it absolutely amazing, OK I really don’t, that John Kerry has not spoken out against the people on the left, or the moonbats, who are using the current Middle East Conflict to score cheap political points. For instance, will John Kerry issue a statement telling Charlie Rangel of New York to knock it off? He was on Fox today and he was asked about the conflict in the Middle East and he launched into this diatribe about how the Bush Administration has ignored the Middle East because it was too focused on Iraq. This was an attempt to score cheap political points. Here is what Rangel says at his website:

Some may say, how could you be against the war in Iraq and yet support Israel’s shelling of Lebanon in response to the attack by members of Hezbollah? The reason is that, unlike Iraq, where none of the stated reasons for U.S. military action proved to be true, Israel is clearly defending itself against a violation of its borders and attack on its citizens.
When we went into Iraq, we had no clue as to who the terrorists were. They certainly were not in Iraq. There were no weapons of mass destruction, no connection between Saddam Hussein and 9/11. Rangel Website

It is clear by his statement that Rangel is clueless. There were plenty of terrorists in Iraq but he refuses to see that so he can bash the current administration. He also ignores report after report indicating WMD went to Syria (which we will see again when they send it to Hezbollah). Charlie also acts as if we were never attacked. Terrorists attacked us and Bush attacked terrorists but Rangel is too stupid to see this. Now Rangel is only the most recent idiot moonbat to speak out. For the past two weeks almost every Democrat who has been interviewed has commented that this is the Bush failed policy in the Middle East or that Bush was too preoccupied with Iraq and he let this happen. They have the same talking points memo and are all beating the same drum. Yet I did not see any press releases from John Kerry telling his moonbat buddies to tone it down because we do not need to score cheap political points. They know they can not attack Bush’s support of Israel because it is solid (more so than theirs ever was or will be) so they are all honing in on the idea of a failed policy in the Middle East. But Kerry remains silent with regard to the left.

Maybe Kerry does not watch all the news programs though he sure had time to listen to Rush. So if we give him the benefit of the doubt and say he did not know about all the attacks from the left (again, unlikely since he gets the same talking points). How then is it that he did not address this attempt to score cheap political points by Howard the Screamer Dean?

“If you think what’s going on in the Middle East today would be going on if the Democrats were in control, it wouldn’t, because we would have worked day after day after day to make sure we didn’t get where we are today. We would have had the moral authority that Bill Clinton had when he brought together the Northern Irish and the IRA, when he brought together the Israelis and the Palestinians.” SignOnSanDiego

This statement by Dean was a pathetic attempt to score cheap political points. It was designed to pander to a group of people and play on their emotions so they would vote for the Democrats because this would not have happened if they were in power. Of course, Dean fails to mention that this is happening because of what they did when they were in power but that is another story. Nevertheless, the point is Howard Dean made this ridiculous statement and Kerry did not tell him to quit seeking cheap political points. I guess Kerry was for seeking cheap political points before he was against it.

While we are on the subject of the Middle East, it is quite interesting that the same people who told us that our presence and involvement in Iraq has caused more violence and terrorism is telling us that because we did not involve ourselves in the Middle East, there is violence. Which is it? It can not be both ways so either our presence is the reason for the violence or our absence is the reason for the violence but it can not be both. It can however, be a third way. It does not matter if we are involved or not because terrorist Islam is intent on taking over the world and they will attack regardless of who is around and who is not.

I also find it interesting that the Democrats are asking what the Bush Administration is going to do to end this problem. How, all of the sudden, did the US become the world’s police when the left keeps telling us we should mind our own business. The left tells us Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 and that mantra is all they ever screams at us. Well, this is a war on terror and Iraq sponsored terror (even if Rangel did not know it) so they were fair game, end of story. But, if we accept the left’s rationale then we must not involve ourselves in the Israeli conflict. Israel had nothing to do with 9/11. As far as I know, Hezbollah had nothing to do with it. So we should stay home and let Israel kick some Hezbollass. Or, is the left actually admitting that we are in a GLOBAL war on terror and that we need to eliminate terrorists no matter where they are?

So, back to the point. Where is John Kerry? Why has he not released a press statement telling the moonbats to stop scoring cheap political points? Perhaps I will craft one and release it. After all, I believe in being fair and balanced.
