Moore Lies Exposed By Wikileaks

Julian Assange broke the law by publishing classified and other sensitive US documents that were illegally obtained. While many hail him as a hero, he is a criminal who broke US law. Ann Coulter displays one of the laws in her latest column:

Among the criminal laws apparently broken by Assange is 18 U.S.C. 793(e), which provides:

“Whoever having unauthorized possession of, access to, or control over any document, writing, code book, signal book, sketch, photograph, (etc. etc.) relating to the national defense, … (which) the possessor has reason to believe could be used to the injury of the United States or to the advantage of any foreign nation, willfully communicates (etc. etc) the same to any person not entitled to receive it, or willfully retains the same (etc) …

“Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both.”

So there is no doubt that Assange broke the law.

One of his supporters is Michael Moore who offered to pay the bond for the release of Assange. Moore believes in what Assange did and wants to help him out. It is Moore’s money and he can do what he wants with it.

However, one of the leaked documents shows that Moore’s film Sicko was banned in Cuba because the hospital that was shown as the model of Socialist medicine is not available to the general population and the Cuban authorities were worried that if the public saw the film it would create an uproar.

Moore was trying to discredit the US health care system when he made his movie but it looks like he was giving it more credit when compared to a country where the only way to get into the elite hospital is to be someone of importance or to pay bribes. It was evident to anyone with a brain that Cuba’s health system was not all that Moore cracked it up to be but that did not stop Moore from creating and releasing Sicko. The problem is, he is now discredited. If Cuban medicine was so wonderful then the film would not have been banned out of fear that people would get upset at the care they do not have access to.

And if that care was so wonderful then Fidel Castro would not have had to fly in doctors to treat his illness.

Additionally, if the system was so wonderful, Moore would not have had to use one elite hospital to make his point while ignoring the substandard care that people in most of the country receive, if they receive it at all. Moore made his case through deception by using the one elite hospital in Cuba as a model for the rest of the country.

Moore claims that his movie was not banned and it played for the entire country. He claims the released communications were designed to recreate reality:

The film-maker said on his blog that the diplomatic cable, dated 31 January 2008, was “a stunning look at the Orwellian nature of how bureaucrats for the state spin their lies and try to recreate reality (I assume to placate their bosses and tell them what they want to hear)”. Guardian UK

Moore’s response is a spot on description of his films. He spins lies to recreate reality (like using one elite hospital to represent all others that are much less impressive).

Who do we believe, the diplomats or Moore? While I do not trust diplomats I can’t figure why they would spin a lie when the communications were not meant for the public. What good would it do to point out what Moore did if the information was not released to the American public?

Besides that, Moore supports Assange and what he has done to expose our government’s secrets and bring transparency to the world.

Given that, Moore has to accept all the truths no matter how ugly they are to him.

And since Moore is a liar and has been exposed as one, who are we to believe?

I do not agree with what Assange did and I hope he is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law but if there is a bright spot to the whole ordeal it is that Moore’s lies have been exposed.

Before all you Moore toadies jump in, ask yourself this; if a cable indicated that George Bush invaded Iraq for oil and he (Bush) said that it was a “spin” to recreate reality, who would you believe?

Cave Canem!
Never surrender, never submit.

“Who do we believe, the diplomats or Moore?”

Actually, I believe Moore since he presents evidence that his film ran in Cuba contrary to the cable.

“What good would it do to point out what Moore did if the information was not released to the American public?”

It’s an interesting question but we can’t deny the evidence that it was not banned in Cuba.

    • Big Dog says:

Evidence? One thing from a health minister (who probably saw it when it was screened for the doctors as the cable states) and a release that says the show WILL BE shown.

Any evidence that it WAS shown?

In fact, the statement from the Health Minister is in June 18 2007. The movie did not open until 29 June 2007 but was shown at the Cannes Film Festival. So did this guy see it there (any proof he was there) or did he see snippets? Or did he see the screening Cuban doctors saw which does not prove it was released in Cuba.

The cable is from January 2008. Moore alleges that the film was shown in April 2008. Is it not possible that the film was banned and later shown as the dates would suggest? Is it not possible that the announcement was made and it was never shown?

Since there is no cable after January 2008 (at least not that we have been made aware of) then it stands to reason the film was banned at least from its release in June 2007 until it was reportedly going to be shown in April 2008.

This is typical of Moore and his toadies. He uses things that suggest something without context or real evidence. He chides the media but the dates don’t add up for him.

      Try again.

      • Big Dog says:

Interestingly, here is a translated story from a Cuban that discusses the banning of Sicko and it is dated August 2007.

Here is where it came from and it is dated two days later.

These are from 2007, just after the release of Sicko. Why do you suppose this Cuban doctor and the other writer are discussing Moore’s film being banned if it were not true? If it is all a lie made up by our government then where did this come from? Did these people make it up to get back at Moore and revise history?

        How about this:

        IT IS THE TRUTH.

  2. Big Dog says:

This is from the same source, same date, different picture. So tell me, where did this idea come from?

    Moore’s film was banned.

If you want to know the real truth about Cuban health care, let me know and I will send you a link to show you the places Moore did not go.

  3. Adam says:

“Interestingly, here is a translated story from a Cuban that discusses the banning of Sicko and it is dated August 2007.”

Let me quote Reason.com on this:

I may have found the origins of the error. The dissident Cuban doctor Darsi Ferrer Ramírez wrote an editorial in 2007 predicting that the government would censor the film. Some writers outside Cuba misread this as a statement that the film had been banned. I suspect that the author of the cable then heard that version of the story and passed it along.

This is apparently the second breakout of this disease. So excited about the prospect of smearing Moore as a liar your side has twice caught and repeated this story of Cuba banning the film and it looks like it’s all from the same source.

“…then it stands to reason the film was banned at least from its release in June 2007 until it was reportedly going to be shown in April 2008.”

Head over to media.cubasi.cu where the clip of Moore in Cuba has been on their landing page since about Wed, 04 Jul 2007 up until today. There is no indication that it was banned and reinstated or that scheduled showings of the movie did not actually follow through.

Let me know when you find credible evidence that it was banned. So far you haven’t shown it.

    • Big Dog says:

Let me know when you can show that it was aired.

Cuba is a Communist country so information is not exactly forthcoming.

The interesting thing is the doctor who wrote the article confirms that Moore’s film is a lie and that Cuba’s health care is not what Moore made it out to be.

It is a lie. Don’t need to be anxious to smear him, he did it himself by fabricating stories.

      • Adam says:

The burden is not on me here. It’s on you. You are suggesting the leaked cable is true, Michael Moore is wrong, and that Cuba banned the film.

No, I don’t have concrete proof it aired. I do have evidence it was scheduled to air, and that clips of Moore in Cuba ran then and still today on a national Cuban website.

What’s missing on your end? Any evidence Cuba actually banned the film.

  4. Eoj Trahneir says:

The rest is damning enough Odom. The film was at an elite hospital, Castorate flew in doctors when he got sick, and common citizens of Cuba have sub-standard health care.

Facts are facts. Those are the facts. Airing or note airing a M. Moore docu-fiberation wont change facts. It never has. He is a fat liar telling fat lies.

You are a gay stooge sucking up his voluminous ilk.

You are his toady. Hop, Odom Hop!

You are the one who needs to do an about-face, except as a liberal, you don’t have a face, just a lot of ass!

You should go to Cuba and see for yourself. I’ve been there. Can’t claim to have been hospitalized but I did speak to many who had experience of that. I didn’t expect they would have a of of positive to say, and other than, “It was cheap,” they didn’t disappoint me.
Seems for most, it was a hit-or-miss experience. Some were cured promptly. If it were curable by a pill.
None of the cures were developed in Cuba, BTW.
If it required cutting, most people averted their heads and spat on the ground…

    • Adam says:

Another day, another incoherent comment from Trahneir. Poor thing.

      • Eoj Trahneir says:

You don’t understand so that means, in liber-talk…I am incoherent. Yup.
In the real world it means you don’t understand.
        No IQ? Possible.
No ability to think outside your box? Probably.
        A close-minded bigot? No doubt.
All adds up the same. A Libe-rat blaming another for her short-cumings! (sic)

  5. Eoj Trahneir says:

Hey, BD! Is Adam a real person?
I mean, he is always here, and makes the quintessential “stupid narrow-minded liberal reply” to anything you post. No matter how logical or reasoned your argument is, he…jambs his feet in his mouth attempting to play devil’s advocate.

The devil, advocate of the liberal! Ha ha! That is why they hate God, even though they don’t believe in God? Hmmm, interesting conundrum, but not for now!

I have been thinking that you invented Adam just to rebut him! Brilliant. Like a verbal punching-bag!

And for that reason I can’t take him seriously. Hence my habit of whacking him about the site. He is such a…target-rich environment!

Is he a construct of your imagination, or do such idiots really exist??

    Just wondering…

    • Big Dog says:

Adam is a real person who I have met and with whom I have had dinner. He is actually a well mannered young man with a college degree. He works and supports himself and his wife (whom I have never met). Adam, in my opinion, is just misguided in his thought (and i am sure he thinks the same about me).

I value his opinion as I value the opinion of anyone who posts here (even though some have been moderated for their constant vulgarity and attacks upon others).

No, I did not invent Adam. If I had invented him he would be a conservative…

    • Adam says:

      Sorry Trahneir. I do exist.

I’m interested in this idea that you’ve been “whacking” me “about this site.” That’s quote a hoot. You certainly haven’t been whacking me with facts and logic. So what is it? You think that by responding to every comment I make with your usual brand of babbling, incoherent insults and slurs that you’re accomplishing anything?

Around here we disagree on pretty much everything and usually we can’t stand the idea of each other. But two things most of us have in common is we try to make coherent arguments and we at least attempt to stick to correct grammar and English sentences. You fail at both most of the time.

You’ll find out eventually that it’s not very fun when everybody starts to ignore you because all you ever do is fling poo like a primate you’d see at the zoo. At least try to do better next time.

  6. Ogre says:

You can’t trust Moore as far as you can throw him.

  7. Eoj Trahneir says:

But, on the serious side, Adam, I will stop whacking you.
Honestly, I didn’t think you were real.
