Moonbat Hypocracy

The problem with moonbats is that they are hypocrites but they never see themselves that way. Take this post from Lost Adam in which he states that assertions that Valerie Plame was not undercover are false and she had nonofficial cover (NOC) status. He cites a reference to the former which is from Fox News. His evidence to refute it is from the liberal play book known as the New York Times. He asserts that what has been stated is true because the NYT said so and to make his claim have more validity he tells readers that since we now know the facts (as reported by the NYT), the right will say it is from the liberal NYT so it is false. Basically, what I am doing with this post.

Now I will not say that the Fox items were true, I don’t know. I do know that for two years a lot of money has been spent trying to figure out if someone outed a covert agent. It seems to me they could have figured it out in that time. Hell, the NYT made it up, figured it out in no time. What I want to know is how can a person expect to be taken seriously when the basis for his facts is the NYT? I am not going so far as to indicate that just because it was in the Times it is false though, given their history, I would have to assume that it is more probable. Look at how they tried to make an 18 month old explosives story look new just before the last election, but I digress.

The New York Times has no clue as to whether Plame was a covert agent. There are many items to suggest she was not. She had not been out of the country on a covert mission in many years, well past the time to keep covert status. It has been reported* that her husband mentioned her in a book and said what she did and where she worked. Who she is and what she does is well known throughout DC. Given all that, I find it hard for anyone to make the case she was covert. I will however, state that the NYT does not know what it is talking about and neither does most of the rest of the MSM. They have taken both sides of this issue stating that no crime was committed when they wanted to keep their reporters out of jail and saying a crime was committed when they wanted to go after Rove. So they too, are hypocrites.

The difference between me and the moonbats is that I try to get a bit of evidence to back up what I am saying so here is a portion of the brief filed by 36 major news organizations attempting to keep Cooper and Miller out of jail:

In this case, there exists ample evidence on the public record to cast serious doubt as to whether a crime has even been committed under the Intelligence Identities Protection Act (the “Act”) in the investigation underlying the attempts to secure testimony from Miller and Cooper. amici curiae brief

So here we have all these news organizations saying that no crime was committed. How can we trust them given the positions they have since taken? Except of course Fox who is a signatory to this and maintains no crime was committed, but forget them, they are conservative and don’t tell the truth.

I have stated all along that we will know the truth when the case is decided. We can not depend on the MSM to give us the facts because, as we have seen with this brief, they will say whatever suits them at the time. Were they telling the truth in the brief or are they telling it now that they want to take Rove down? Regardless of what their motivation, it is dangerous, careless, and down right foolish to cite a newspaper as a source for the facts when there is so much conflicting information. To cite one source as the absolute authority is absolutely stupid and smacks of partisan bias rather than intelligent objectivity. But then again, we are talking about moonbats.

As a side note the blog that is cited by Adam as the source for the conflicting items states

CLAIM – PERJURY AND OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE ARE “TECHNICALITIES”: “Don`t you sort of feel a little bad that your side is winning on essentially what is a technicality?” [Tucker Carlson, MSNBC, 10/7/05]

FACT – PERJURY IS A FELONY: [Anyone who] is guilty of perjury and shall, except as otherwise expressly provided by law, be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both. [U.S. Code]

FACT – OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE IS A FELONY: “Whoever willfully endeavors by means of bribery to obstruct, delay, or prevent the communication of information relating to a violation of any criminal statute of the United States by any person to a criminal investigator shall be fined under this title, or imprisoned not more than five years, or both.” [U.S. Code]

If these donks are so concerned with all this where were they when Bill Clinton committed perjury and obstructed justice? I don’t recall him going to jail and I remember a lot of moonbats who felt it was no big deal and not worthy of impeachment. But don’t take it from me, I’m a conservative and we all know conservatives are the biased hypocrites….
