Many Mexicans, especially those who have spent time working in the U.S., feel the proposal is a slap in the face to those who work hard and contribute to the U.S. economy.
This is a farce at best. Most illegals send their money home. Billions of dollars go into Mexico weekly and they do not have to do anything except promote illegal immigration to get it. How can these workers contribute to the economy when they are sucking out tax dollars in social programs? They come here and apply for welfare, they get free medical care and they take from the economy. How many of them are paid under the table and therefore pay nothing in taxes? Couple this with the rampant fraud in social security numbers and birth certificates and it is easy to see they are a drain to our economy.
The idea that we need the cheap labor is the same argument used to support slavery in this country. Now, many people use the same arguments to allow illegals to enter this country and suck the life out of us. The US, in addition to the wall, should fine employers 1 million dollars per illegal working for them and put any illegals captured into jail for 5 years. We can use the fines to pay for the burden on the penal system.
“We learned to believe in the United States. We have a binational life,” he said of Zacatecas, a state that has been sending migrants north for more than a century. “It isn’t just a feeling of rejection. It’s against what we see as part of our life, our culture, our territory.”
This is not their territory, it is ours. They act like it is theirs and they come here with impunity. One genius likened the wall to the wall that used to be in Berlin. Well, that wall separated one country. The wall here will separate two. Though from the statements it would seem they think this is their territory. What these folks should be taught is the legal way to enter this country. When they do it that way, there is no problem. Anyone who still thinks Vincente Fox is a friend of this country needs a reality check.
