Liberals eat their own

In the run up to a vote on a healthcare bill that would break the bank, (at least the one that exists in liberal minds), several Democrats are finally beginning to have reservations about where the money is coming from- questions they truly should have voiced six months ago, when all this tax and spend action began.

Ben Nelson, Diane Feinstein, Mary Landreiu, have all been the targets of MoveOn. org and other socialistic organizations, including the SEIU, the union that does the cleaning in hotels, empties the trash, etc. This would be richly entertaining, but for the deadly seriousness of the situation our government finds itself in- besieged by special interests on the left. Lobbyists are creating attack ads against the members of their party that these Special Interests have deemed to not be in sufficient lockstep with the more liberal and socialistic among them.

The attacks — ranging from tart news releases to full-fledged advertising campaigns — have elicited rebuttals from lawmakers and sparked a debate inside the party over the best strategy for achieving President Obama’s top priority of a comprehensive health-system overhaul.

The rising tensions between Democratic legislators and constituencies that would typically be their natural allies underscore the high hurdles for Obama as he tries to hold together a diverse, fragile coalition. Activists say they are simply pressing for quick delivery of “true health reform,” but the intraparty rift runs the risk of alienating centrist Democrats who will be needed to pass a bill.

In recent days — and during this week’s congressional recess — left-leaning bloggers and grass-roots organizations such as MoveOn.org, Health Care for America Now and the Service Employees International Union have singled out Democratic  Sens. Ben Nelson (Neb.),  Mary Landrieu (La.),  Ron Wyden (Ore.),  Arlen Specter(Pa.) and  Dianne Feinstein (Calif.) for the criticism more often reserved for opposition party members.

I don’t know- did it not used to be that a person’s opinion was their own, and while one might disagree, one also respected the freedom to express said opinion? Well, apparently, according to MoveOn.org, not so much anymore. If a member of the Democratic Party is suspected of not toeing the party line very tightly, they are targeted for punishment. How communistic of you, comrade- I am sure your fellow travelers are wondering if the path they have chosen is worth the deceptions they have been playing on the American public.

The Web-based MoveOn.org plans to run ads this week against Sen. Kay Hagan (D-N.C.) over the issue.

“The Democrats were voted into office to fix this problem,” said MoveOn political advocacy director Ilyse Hogue. “It is absolutely our job to hold them accountable.”

One Democratic strategist who is working full-time on health reform was apoplectic over what he called wasted time, energy and resources by the organizations.

The strategist, who asked for anonymity because he was criticizing colleagues, said: “These are friends of ours. I would much rather see a quiet call placed by [Obama chief of staff] Rahm Emanuel saying this isn’t helpful. Instead, we try to decimate them?”

Now that some of the Democratic party is beginning to have doubts, we will see the true nature of this beast we now call Liberalism. As the surrogates for Hussein, the MoveOns, the SEIUs, the ACORNs of this world ramp up their hate to whip their fellow dupes in line, the rest of America will be witness to the raw power grab this has become, as these people do all they can to subvert the Constitution by making laws designed to go around the Constitution’s true intent.

Will enough people wake up and heed the call to action, the urgent need to come together to save our Constitution? The Constitution has been there for us, in good times and bad, it has saved us from our excesses before, but never before have we been put to sleep with rampant consumerism, sitting in front of our flat- screen TVs, tuning out the real world, because it doesn’t fit into a half- hour sit- com.

Thomas Paine wrote of kings and royalty, “Men who look upon themselves born to reign, and others to obey, soon grow insolent; selected from the rest of mankind their minds are early poisoned by importance; and the world they act in differs so materially from the world at large, that they have but little opportunity of knowing its true interests, and when they succeed to the government are frequently the most ignorant and unfit of any throughout the dominions.”

Strong words- he could as easily have been talking about our “royalty” of today- the liberals who are pushing this suicidal agenda.

They are indeed, Legends In Their Own Minds, nightmares in ours.

    Actually, it’s called representative democracy, responsible government (that is, our leaders being held accountable) and thus quite the *opposite* of “communistic.”

    Health care is about 16% of our $14 trillion economy so there is no end of cash sloshing around buying politicians and trying to keep the status quo (which feeds the endless number of parasites feeding on the inefficient system).

    See this cartoon

    So I’m glad moveon is there to remind these political whores (from both sides), that fight to keep, or hesitate to change, the disaster we have now.

    Consider:

    “Observe where your health insurance dollar is going now.

    * Medical care: 62%
    * Medical care administration: 10%
    * Physician billing: 5%
    * Hospital billing: 4%
    * Insurer billing: 8%
    * Other insurer costs and profit: 11%

    Some administrative costs are unavoidable of course, but administrative costs for most single payer systems are estimated to be in the range of 2-5%, which would leave the remaining 95-98% available to pay for actual care, like…, maybe some more nurses?”

    “At a U.S. Senate Finance Committee meeting on Nov. 19, 2008, Dr. Uwe Reinhardt said, “We have 900 billing clerks at Duke (medical system, 900-bed hospital). I’m not sure we have a nurse per (each) bed, but we have a billing clerk per bed . . . it’s obscene.”

      Noactually, it is called special interests who are whoring themselves in the service of moveon, an odious organization second only to CORN, or whatever it is calling itself now, to avoid prosecution. If every one of moveon’s lobbyists had a real job, perhaps in the medical field, we might be abl;e to do some good, except in the area of morals transplants.

      • Blake says:

        I mean ACORN, although the misnomer is apt.

      • Darrel says:

        You call it “special interest” but unlike fat cat corporations with lots of money but little public involvement, Moveon is actually democracy in action. You just don’t like democracy when it effectively goes against your side.

        And note: it will usually go against your side because most people are actually interested in having a society that works well for a large number of people. Not a society that is good at creating a few very wealthy and a great number of poor.

        Moveon started as an email group but grew into the 3.3 million members they have now. And you don’t do the following, without having a great deal of grassroots support:

        “MoveOn.org raised nearly 60 million dollars in 2004 from its members alone, with an average donation of $50.”

        That’s democracy. Money is political speech right? Let the people speak.

        Don’t like it? Move to Russia, or start your own group.

        ps. You got nothing on ACORN. Put up or shut up.

        • Blake says:

          moveon, supported by George Soros’ money, is democracy in action?
          Yea, right- and the Nazis were just a “social” club
          As far as ACORN, their time is coming.

        • Blake says:

          It was mostly Soros money, not “the people”- that is a lie.

        • Blake says:

          Your side will lose in the end because PEOPLE DO LEARN from their mistakes- just look at Jiminy Carter, the man whose picture defines the word “useless”- the man who, with the “Community Re- Investment Act” began this slide into third- world status. Gee, thanx Jiminy.

          DAR
          Like a good lemming you pass along the FOX falsehoods just as they hoped you would. You’ve heard of Soro’s because of the endless baseless smears from O’Reilly etc.,. But there’s nothing to it. Soro’s, a true champion fighter against communism isn’t even their major single contributor never mind the fact that individual donations from “people” (average donation $50) dwarf his.

          ***
          “Soros gave $3 million to the Center for American Progress, committed $5 million to MoveOn, while he and his friend Peter Lewis each gave America Coming Together $10 million.”

          But this should be considered in the context that he has given away $6 BILLION dollars. So him giving this much (to a worthy cause) is like me sending them then a twenty. Maybe a ten spot.

          Money is “speech” right?

          “Again: “MoveOn’s primary source of funding is its members. MoveOn.org raised nearly 60 million dollars in 2004 from its members alone, with an average donation of $50.”

          You’re projecting again. Jimmy Carter has accomplished more good for the world in an afternoon, then you will in your entire lifetime.

          And that’s not even counting that we should subtract from your “good” pile for all of the time you waste spreading blatant, mind-numbing, breathtaking, falsehoods.

          Some people use the internet to teach. You try to use it to make people more stupid.

          I don’t lie when it comes to Carter- the man, if you wish to honor him by that word, is the most useless POS- and I mean that in every sense of that saying. The world is a poorer place because of him and his policies. Just ask any of the hostages taken in 1979 and held by Iran.
          But the CRA was the lowest form of underhanded socialistic BS ever perpetuated on the American people and that is why I call him traitor.

          WIKIPEDIA
          In 2002, President Carter received the Nobel Peace Prize for his work “to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts, to advance democracy and human rights, and to promote economic and social development” through The Carter Center.

          If Blake “isn’t lying” (knowingly presenting false information) when he says that Carter is “useless” “in every sense”, what does this say about Blake? To Blake, things like peace, democracy, human rights, and economic and social development are useless.

          Dog, are you sure you want this person posting main blog entries? Did you also notice how he’s supporting Olbermann’s murder? Is this the representation you want on your blog? It’s pretty hardcore insanity.

        • Darrel says:

          SAV: “If Blake “isn’t lying” “isn’t lying” (knowingly presenting false information) when he says that Carter is “useless” “in every sense”, what does this say about Blake?>>

          DAR
          Blakes uses the word “lie” like some people use punctuation. I think when he proof reads he says, “another comma here and here, and let’s call people liars a few more times here and here.”

          So as anyone can see, words and truth mean very little to someone like Blake. This is why/how he gets so far out in the bushes on his factual claims and untenable beliefs. Like Humpty Dumpty, words mean what he wants them to mean, and they end up meaning nothing at all.

          Blake will dismiss the Peace prize as small potatoes. And perhaps it is when you consider some of his other accomplishments. As I posted a week or two ago:

          ***
          [Just one of his endeavors]The Carter Center, accomplishes things like:

          * Observation of more than 69 elections in 27 countries[2]

          * Helping over 8 million small-scale farmers double or triple grain production in 15 African countries[3]

          * Creating avenues to peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Haiti, Liberia, North Korea, Sudan, and Uganda

          * Reducing cases of Guinea worm disease worldwide from 3.5 million in 1986 to fewer than 25,000 in 2007[4]

          LINK

          Etc. An American that accomplishes things like the above, Blake calls “useless,” “traitor,” “POS” etc.,.

          It’s a positively embarrassing performance he provides.

          D.

        • Blake says:

          The Nobel Peace Prize has been demeaned by Carter and Gore- I expect that at this rate, I may be next- “If you call in the next five minutes, because we can’t do this all day, we will throw in a 6 lb. tub of Oxy- clean with every Nobel you get.”
          Carter has been busy attempting to “repair” his legacy- a vain attempt, but then there will always be some socialists who love him- I guess someone’s got to.

        • Blake says:

          moveon is filled with ignorant people led by the nose towards their own doom ( but not in a bad way, of course).

    • Blake says:

      When a member of a party votes with his or her conscience, this is called being “unaccountable”? When a member of a party questions aspects of a bill, they are being traitorous to their party? Good- I would rather a man vote his conscience clearly, even if I disagree, than to have him meekly toe the line just for “party unity” which is as dishonest as you can be.
      The man (or woman) can then be honestly held to account by the voters as to his actions, but to be led by the nose to vote a certain way is reprehensible.

      • Darrel says:

        BLK: “When a member of a party votes with his or her conscience, this is called being “unaccountable”?>>

        DAR
        No, when a person takes great mountains of cash from fat cats and industry on the government teat and goes against the interests and the will of the people they were hired to represent, that’s called being unaccountable.

        Moveon has 3.3 million members and organizes to hold leaders accountable. This is democracy. This is a good thing. Start you’re own group. Here’s an idea, you could use a teabag as your emblem. Nobody would make fun of that.

        • Blake says:

          your second paragraph shows you for the hypocrite you are- just who do you think is moving the Climate Bill? Vested monied interests who are buying votes from unscrupulous representatives, I guess buying votes is okay in your hypocritical universe, as long as it is your side that is doing this.
          You might as well get off your high horse and get down in the dirt with the rest of the Climate hogs at the money trough.

    Good going Blake. I’m glad someone has the nerve to speak up. People have no idea what they are getting into with the socialism. Obama is turning America into a China, Germany or Russia. Look at the rules those people have to live by.
