Kennedy Apple Does Not Fall Far

A long time ago Ted Kennedy was involved in a vehicle accident after he had been drinking. He ended up killing a girl in that accident and he used his status and connections to cover up vital parts of the incident to keep his sorry rear out of jail. It looks like the apple does not fall far from the Kennedy tree.

“The driver exited the vehicle and he was observed to be staggering,” Baird’s letter states. Officers approached the driver, who “declared to them he was a Congressman and was late to a vote. The House had adjourned nearly three hours before this incident. It was Congressman Patrick J. Kennedy from Rhode Island.”

So another Kennedy has been involved in an accident where it appears he was drinking. Though, just like Teddy, Patrick claims not to have consumed alcohol. Considering what the officers observed and the history of drunkeness in the Kennedy family it is not hard to believe this guy was plastered.

He will never be charged with drunk driving and he will get off without a problem. The police in DC have two sets of rules. One for us and one for the Congress. Cynthia McKinney hit a police officer and was not arrested. You and I would have been thrown down and cuffed before spending time in jail. Kennedy gets a ride home after a drunk driving accident. You and I would spend time in jail and pay a lot of money. We would also get to go to AA and alcohol counseling as well as be put on probation.

This must be the two Americas that John Edwards told us about.
