John McCain Still Does Not Get It

John McCain was a hopeless candidate chosen by the MSM to run as the Republican candidate for the presidency. He was determined to be polite and keep out of the mud but politics is a dirty business. As attack after attack piled up he looked clueless and out of touch. I still think he was the better choice but that does not mean he was the best choice.

He is still out of touch. He just saw the Democrats ram legislation down the throats of Americans who will pay for this for generations to come. He acknowledged as much when he described the stimulus as generational theft. He then complained that Republicans were locked out of the process and accused Obama of breaking his promise to have DC work differently. McCain then said:

“Let’s start over now and sit down together.”

Obviously, McCain is missing the boat once again. Obama and Pelosi made it clear John but let me say it again for you; THEY WON.

They do not intend to entertain anything that differs from what they want. They might talk to you as Obama did but their idea of bipartisan is when Republicans do what Democrats want.

Let me also make this clear John. The Democrats did not screw Republicans on this bill. Sure they left you in the cold while they negotiated in the proverbial smoke filled room. It was no different than the times you guys left them in the cold. Besides, nearly all of them were going to vote for the thing no matter what.

You and every other Republican as well as the majority of Americans who do not support this plan were screwed by 3 Republicans. The traitors are Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins and Arlen Specter. They crossed over and voted to pass the bill and it gave the Democrats a victory that will hurt us for generations to come. If you want to blame anyone John, look no farther than these three.

Democrats knew how to play minority opposition and Republicans are going to have to work on it if they hope to assert some pressure on the Democrats. This means not passively voting for nominees. If there are legitimate issues to pursue then you owe it to America to pursue them. Holder and Clinton deserved much greater scrutiny than they got.

You also need to get your ducks in line when it comes to judicial nominees or we will end up with more Ginsberg types on the bench.

John, you guys in the Senate need to grow a pair and assert yourselves. You have enough people to block anything that is bad and you owe it to America to be as obstructive as the Democrats were when they were the minority. And you need to keep the three traitors in line.

I have written before and I will continue to say that one should never, ever, trust a Democrat. They will bend you over every chance they get.

John I know you want to play nice and hold hands. I know you want everyone to sit in the same sandbox and not kick sand all over each other but that is not how politics works.

Besides, look how that approach worked for you in the presidential campaign…

You got your head handed to you.

The more I see and read about Obama, the more I feel that my discernment has been right all along. I was just reading that he wants to cut back on our nuclear arsenal and eventually completely do away with it. My personal feeling is that this man has been planted in America to destroy it. He is taking us to a place where the enemy can just walk in and take over. When, oh when will people wake up???

    • Bunny Colvin says:

Babs- by now we are all well aware of your hunch that Obama was sent here to destroy America. We get it. Speaking for myself now, what I’d like to hear is your proposal to deal with this catastrophic situation. You want to keep the nukes and field a force that won’t allow the enemy to simply “walk in and take over”. Got it. But what do we do with Obama? Is he KGB? Or was he sent by the devil himself? Or are they one in the same??? Gasp!

  2. Big Dog says:

Obama could not have been sent by the devil.

    Obama is Satan himself.

Dog is like the drunk guy at the bar who yells “hell yeah!” right after someone says something really stupid.

  4. Victoria says:

Well, better to be drunk on whiskey than to have consumed so much liberal koolaide that you get out into liberal la la land never to return.

  5. Bunny Colvin says:

    Yo Vic!

Who spiked the koolaid? What kinda whiskey you drink? Where is Babs? Lets get this party started!

This article is right on, I wish I could send it to John McCain, or whoever’s advice he is taking.

What I don’t like is people using my resources for their own agenda. You have a blog that you have not written at since September of 2008. Use it to advertise your tired games.

  8. Bunny Colvin says:

Easy, easy. I was just jokin around, doggie.
All of your commenters have an “agenda” of some sort. I thought some of them might find the links humorous. You folks sure are cranky since the big L.

Have any other readers heard from Scottie or Swines? I’m ready for some REAL debate around here. Those guys just don’t post anymore since the whoopin.

  9. Victoria says:

    Bunny,
YOU want REAL debate? I gotta tell ya, name calling and sarcastic comments and accusations are not debate and it also doesn’t qualify as a “whoopin.” “Agendas” are what libs have. What is yours by the way? Other than being a smart @#s on this blog, I mean? What do you want to see happen in this country–I mean other than the total destruction of all conservatives?

  10. Bunny Colvin says:

No, no. The whoopin was Obama vs. McCain.

My primary “agendas” are, in order:

    1. Being a smart a$$ on this blog
    2. Total destruction of all conservatives

Wise Canine, spare me when the revolution comes. I beg you. Don’t send me to hell but to New York City. I know they’re about the same to you anyway.

    • Victoria says:

That was no legitimate “whoopin.” McCain was a most pitiful opponant and it didn’t take much to defeat him. In fact from what I saw, McCain pretty much handed over the election because he was afraid to stand up on most of the topics. Your guy is as weak as they come–and I would really like to know what it is that you find so great about Obama? What that he is a Democrat? That he is spending money right and left now? And don’t give me any crap about because he isn’t Bush–because basically we have a one party system and have had for awhile now.

  11. Big Dog says:

    1. Being a smart a$$ on this blog

    You are only half right.

Better give up on number 2. It is not going to happen.

    No mercy.

Nice veiled reference to Hank Williams Jr. Seems like the racist in you can’t help but refer to a white guy as a redneck.

But so you know, I find nothing wrong with Dixie or its flag. It is a part of history and the people who fought for the Confederates were honorable men.

You should stick to gangsta rap. It fits you and your new prez.

  12. Bunny Colvin says:

Who said anything about rednecks? I listen to Hank Jr AND “gangsta” rap. I hope I’m not breaking any of your “Rules of the Revolution” by doing so. Obama is a gangster? How so?

Vick- you need to reference the definition of whoopin. It doesn’t matter if one side is weak, a whoopin is a whoopin.

  13. Victoria says:

Oh, yes it does matter. Just because Obama won the election against McCain(who handed it to him)–Obama thinks he has some sort of mandate to turn this country into “his vision of what the country should be,” because he thinks he won some sort of great victory. Ha!!

    • Bunny Colvin says:

He does have a mandate. Dubs said he had a mandate in 04. If 51/48 is a mandate, so is 53/46. A mandate and a whoopin.

  14. Big Dog says:

Obama won by a large margin but as many people did not vote. The margins were very similar to that of Bush over Kerry and the left said Bush had no mandate.

And I thought a mandate was something you would not see Rosie with…

Bunny, I know what you were alluding to.

Obama let’s his daughter listen to that gangsta crap.

  15. Big Dog says:

No, it was a convincing victory. Nixon and Reagan gave a whoopin.

He can have all the mandates he wants but I believe that it is my duty to show him the same respect and cooperation that the left showed Bush.

So I hope he is unsuccessful.

  16. Victoria says:

Reagan/Carter 50/41, Reagan/Mondale 58/40–those are landslides. 51/48,53/46 is not a landslide nor the indication of anything either way other than this country is divided and Obama is not doing anything but cause further and even bigger division. So much for change!
