John Kerry and The Truth, Another Oxymoron

John Kerry weighed in on the recent firing of a CIA employee who leaked classified information. John Kerry thinks it was noble of her to leak the information because she was telling the truth. In one of those “I voted for it before I voted against it moments” Kerry said that he is glad she told the truth (though she failed a polygraph) and that she was obligated to uphold the law and not tell. So John is glad she told before he said she shouldn’t.

Kerry is spinning the same old stuff about outing Valerie Plame to support a lie while this woman, Mary McCarty, was only telling the truth (about secret CIA prisons). She was fired for telling the truth and no one in the administration has been fired for lying. I don’t know how many more ways they can spin this but someone should tell Senator Kerry that no one at the White House has been indicted for this so called outing of Valerie Plame. Perhaps if they could find someone who broke the law they could fire that person but after two and a half years there has been no one indicted for this alleged crime.

An interesting twist to this Mary McCarthy firing is that the whole idea of secret prisons might have been a fabricated story to see who leaked information to the press. The Europeans have not been able to find these so called black prisons and are now saying they doubt such prisons even exist. That would be really great (and blow a hole in the Kerry truth point of view) and show that the CIA was actively seeking out the leakers. The media will be upset that it was used in the ploy and will be upset that it lost a source of information based on a lie.

John Kerry, leaking classified information is against the law regardless of what the information is or the motivation of the person who did it. You can not use your flawed reasoning abilities to rationalize this behavior. If this person leaked information she needs to be prosecuted. If and when they ever determine that Plame was actually covert and that someone actually knowingly disclosed classified information, then we will punish them. John Kerry also said this in response to a question about CIA agents making independent decisions to release information:

Of course not. Of course, not. A CIA agent has the obligation to uphold the law and clearly leaking is against the law, and nobody should leak. I don’t like leaking. But if you’re leaking to tell the truth, Americans are going to look at that, at least mitigate or think about what are the consequences that you, you know, put on that person. Obviously they’re not going to keep their job, but there are other larger issues here. You know, classification in Washington is a tool that is used to hide the truth from the American people. Daniel Patrick Moynihan was eloquent and forceful in always talking about how we needed to, you know, end this endless declassification that takes place in this city, and it has become a tool to hide the truth from Americans. (emphasis added)

Amazingly, failure to execute an SF 180 is also a method to keep the truth from the American people. John Kerry has not signed one to release his military records in their entirety. John Kerry is telling us that the government uses classification to keep secrets from Americans while he himself has kept secrets, that he can release, from Americans DESPITE THE FACT THAT HE PROMISED TO RELEASE THOSE RECORDS! John Kerry has no credibility in this issue and he is trying to excuse the behavior of a worker who was appointed during Clinton’s term and who donated money to the Kerry campaign. He is trying to shield her like they shielded Sandy Berger because any time one of them screws up they circle the wagons. One other important thing is that we classify items to keep secrets from the enemy, not to hide the truth from Americans (except Kerry who uses it to hide his war record). We do not need our secrets out in the open. Once again, we have a good example of why Democrats can NOT be trusted with national security.

John Kerry is the last person to look toward for any credibility. He lied about his war record, he lied about some of the activities of his anti war group, he met with our enemy in a time of war, and he lied about releasing his records. I did say that it would not be long before they were trying to blame Bush. Notice how everything that is discussed in this story seems to run back to so called leaks by the administration….
