Yes, this means my SS also, and my Medicare- because these programs DO NOT WORK. So we need to stop, hit the reset button, and just say no to ANY spending, period. If we have to live with potholes for a year, so be it- if we have to get by without a new cadet class for police, well, we should begin to protect ourselves- if we can curb spending for a year, perhaps we can begin to spend SANELY next year- just do what we HAVE to do. I will bet that the Armed Forces can get by without the newest toy for a year or so. Also, if we are not going to go for the win in Afghanistan, we should leave- a holding action just wastes the blood and treasure of our country- The Afghans are going to have to come into at least the 20th century, and step up- it is, after all, THEIR country, and if they do not care, why should we? Everything should be on the table- I resent that these politicians make more than the average taxpayer- whatever happened to "serving your country"? Perhaps if they looked up from sucking at the public trough long enough, they might see the harm they are doing to the country. When half the nation can vote to tax the other half for freebies, while the taxed half is perpetually bombarded with messages designed to induce guilt , fear, and submission, no political corrective is possible.
