I certainly did not take anything out of context. I know exactly what he said and what he meant.

Obama is brilliant only to the extent that he has a bunch of idiots following him and he has yet to say anything of substance.

I for one am not afraid of anyone, white, black or otherwise. However, I am more on my guard when traveling in a predominantly black area because black on white crime is a very common thing. That does not mean I let my guard down in white areas but I am more alert in other areas.

Obama is a terrible person who will ruin this country.

election blog you are an idiot, unequivocally an idiot. Obama is too inexperienced to be president. He is also (and worse than inexperienced) extremely socialist in his outlook and goals. He has grandiose plans for doing all kinds of things that the federal government is not supposed to be dealing with and all of it is going to necessitate tons of new taxes?

So election blog, am I to guess by your post that you don't mind teh idea of government controlling every aspect of your life and taking even more taxes from you? Obama will be a footnote of history if he loses or the U.S as a free country where people can be the best they can be will be a footnote of history, and only our next election will tell which is going to be.

You are taking his comments out of context and blowing them up out of proportion. The mentality of being afraid of blacks is not just a white thing, sure it's even more prevalent in the white community - but it's a nationwide thing. But Obama is trying to do is raise the level of discourse in this country - but folks like you just want to play "gotcha" politics with it and reduce the conversation back down to infantile levels. That doesn't help anything.

I really think Obama will go down as one of the greatest presidents in history and history will not look kindly upon folks who tried to stand in his way. It's like how people look back on MLK with great love now - but many people tried to stand in his way. They are merely footnotes now.

A true brilliant leader like Barack Obama comes along once in a lifetime. Even some Republicans understand that and are supporting him.

Why would anyone vote for McCain? He's more of the same!

Really good points in this posting. I liked the quote from Jesse Jackson. I just wish he wasn't so relieved when he sees Whites; wish he felt threatened by them, too.

No doubt about it, blacks choose to victimize others. They are responsible for their culture's sad shape and for their personal failings. I don't care what excuses they try to use, blacks are responsible for their own actions.

Obama's comments about his White grandmother are a cop-out. He said she was a typical White person afraid of blacks on the street. He probably misunderstood his White grandmother. She probably deeply resented her daughter's poor choice of a (black) husband. Also, many blacks confuse Whites' reactions. Most Whites hate blacks; it's not fear that Whites show, it's anger.

And I don't understand why Obama tries to justify Pastor Wright's anti-White, anti-American racist madness. A pastor should be held to a higher standard and judged for what he says because he is in a position of leadership. Obama, too, should be held to a higher standard. He's running for Presidency for crying out loud. Yet, he gets a pass because he's black. Typical black.

I am walking down the street at night and an teenage black kid walks out of the darkness toward me. Am I suddenly wary? It depends on how he looks and where I am.

I am walking down the street at night and a white guy walks out of the darkness toward me. Am I suddenly wary? It depends on what he's wearing and where I am.

In either case if I am in a troubled part of town and the person is dressed in street clothes yes I am going to be more wary regardless of color.

That's common sense.
