It Would Be Funny If Cher Died

Not funny as in comical or humorous but funny as in ironic. Cher, the talented singer and actress, states that Republican rule almost killed her. While babbling about how smart and wonderful Barack Obama is Cher wonders why anyone would want to be a Republican.

Cher basically says that there is no reason to be a Republican unless you are a rich Christian. She questions how the poor and protected groups (minorities and gays) could have anyone who would want to be a Republican.

Jammie Wearing Fool remarks that Cher sounded like a cult follower while describing Obama and states that it would be amusing if Cher dropped dead while Obama was president.

I think it would be funny as in an irony. I don’t wish death on her but if she drops dead in the next four years we can say that Republicans almost killed Cher and the Democrats finished the job…

Cher is an airhead. If she had a brain she would walk backwards.

After reading the sappy praise she spewed for Obama it appears to me that she wants a different kind of stimulus package from her exalted leader.

In another bit of irony, one of Cher’s big hits was a song titled Halfbreed. And then came Obama, in fulfillment of the scripture…

This is an example of the electorate who wanted this guy. It makes me depressed to even think about some days.

  2. Adam says:

Why all the angst when idiot celebs share their opinions? Are you not publishing a blog to share your opinion with people? Would you at some point reach an audience level where when you gave your opinion you were treated like out of touch elitist garbage who’s opinion didn’t matter?

  3. Big Dog says:

Yeah, I can see what you mean. When Cher says nasty things about people, some of whom buy her tickets and CDs and then expects people to be happy.

The Dixie Chicks gave their opinion and had to pay for it.

Cher gets paid to sing, perhaps she should stick to that.

I wouldn’t mind reaching an audience the size of hers though.

I just think it would be funny in an ironic way if she died during a Democrat’s rule after saying the Republicans almost killed her.

    Cher:
“If youre poor, if youre any kind of minority gay, black, Latino, anything. If youre not a rich I dont know. If youre not a rich born-again-Christian, I dont get it, she added.”
This is the pervasive view that “Republicans are the cold hearted selfish @#$%^&ds and Democrats are the compassionate ones. My very good friend with liberal tendancies after this last election accused me of losing my compassion or something along those lines. I was really shocked because she of all people knows me well and then I ran across an article written about this book and I realized because we have argued about certain candidates and legislation that this is where she is coming from.

There is a book out called,”Who Really Cares and Why.”When President Bush coined the term “compassionate conservatism,” many conservatives were understandably miffed. It seemed to concede to liberals that traditional conservatives are indeed a greedy, selfish bunch – unlike liberals, with their “commitment” to the poor and disadvantaged. Now comes an amazing new book that buries that old canard forever. In Who Really Cares: America’s Charity Divide – Who Gives, Who Doesn’t, and Why It Matters, Arthur C. Brooks uses hard data to prove that, when it comes to charitable giving, conservatives – especially religious conservatives – are far more generous than liberals, who seem to believe that “compassion” begins and ends with voting for government handouts.

“…there is no reason to be a Republican unless you are a rich Christian”

    – Hello ? 13 of the top 21 richest members of Congress are Democrats. Funny that the perception shared by most people in this country is factually wrong. And as far as being a Christian is concerned, the ten commandments provide an awesome guide to a reasonably sane and happy life. Sonny was a good man. Cher is a God-less freak show.

  6. Adam says:

I’ve seen several studies linking giving to religious faith. It’s no surprise to me then that conservatives give more considering there are more protestants for instance identifying themselves as conservatives.

I think charity is essential both to my faith and to the traditions of our country but as a liberal I still feel like there are things charities can’t do such as fund unemployment benefits or other social security programs that help those in need, specially in times of recession like these when the federal government doesn’t have to tighten it’s belt as much as people giving to charities.

What kind of flowers would Cher like me to send for her funeral?

  9. Big Dog says:

But Adam, ultimately the government gets its money from the people who would give to charity.

Government has no money. It takes money from us. If government does not tighten its belt, we end up paying, not some mythical money pot in a corner.

In reality every government social program is funded by the people.

  10. Big Dog says:

Probably Tulips because that is what she had planted on Obama’s butt.

  11. Harry says:

Gottdamnit! Why not Michael Steele for prseident? 2012 after democrats shit all over everything with socialism!

  12. Harry says:

Ooops misspelled President! Would the elitist, forgive me for my lack of big words!

  13. Harry says:

It is not right that matters when starting a war, but victory! A qoute form Der Fuhrer “Adolf Hitler” Liberals MAY I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE! The reason why socialism worked for Germany during WWII, is because they had one Goal and one master race plan and NO WELFARE. Here in America we have too much of the opposite! So socialism WILL FAIL PERIOD………….
WHAT ELSE DO I DID TO SAY?

  14. Adam says:

    Big Dog:

What? Tax dollars pay for social programs? No magic pot? Get out. I thought for sure this stuff was just free… …

My only point is that few charities are as broad in scale and scope as some very important social programs like unemployment and food stamps. If it were true that charity alone would support people like these then we’d never have had reason to start them in the first place.

And again I say that if the economy hits a recession, even the most minor one, then charity donations are going to fall just like every other type of expenditure. Yet we’ll never need unemployment benefits more than in times like these. Even Joe the Dumber who has bashed social spending eventually admitted that without welfare his parents might have been sunk…

    Harry:

Michael “I lied about the Oreo Cookies” Steel in 2012? Sounds good to me. Maybe he’ll still be under criminal investigation by then.

Best title ever! I was drawn in like a moth to a porch light.,….

Wow..I know this won’t be published, but what a freak show of a site. As a republican, even I’m a little uncomfortable reading some of the crap on this site. Maybe if you all stop crying like babies and quit the freaking name calling BS we could get somewhere as a nation. My party continues to shame me. And by the way…the racist undertone here is f@#cking tangible.
I’ve never been more uncomfortable as a republican than throughout this election. Peoples true colors showed up and the independant party is looking real good to me these days.
