Is There Even A Choice To Consider?

There has been debate all week about a bill on illegals in this country and the future of immigration in general. Many people, especially the liberals and the RINOs want to give millions of illegals free passes and just let them become legal after some token fine. No one believes that they would turn themselves in for this program but it sounds good in a sound bite. The legislation hit a road block because Democrats refuse to allow any amendments to their bill. They do not want to have an honest, open debate about this issue because they are afraid they will get caught with their pants down, especially in an election year. Case in point:

In private as well as public, Reid and Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., who heads the party’s campaign effort, said they did not want to expose rank-and-file Democrats to votes that would force them to choose between border security and immigrant rights, only to wind up with legislation that would be eviscerated in future negotiations with the House, which has passed a bill limited to boosting border security.

The donks, in the persona of the two main moonbats, do not want the Republicans to be able to introduce any amendment that would cause the other moonbats to have to vote in a manner that would have them choosing between border (read national) security and immigrant rights (remember, the illegal ones have no rights). I just want to know if there is even a choice here? If the moonbats are so tough on security as they try to make us believe, then the choice is obvious. If you believe, like I do, that all moonbats are motivated by politics and that they look at illegal immigrants as a new block of voters then you can see why they have a dilemma. They are torn between getting votes and pretending to care about security. They do not want to be forced into showing their true colors.
