How Is Our Economy Again?

There are actually people who believe that George Bush is manipulating oil prices to influence the next election. I heard today that over 40% of people surveyed believed that! I am not talking about Democrat politicians who say things like that to fool idiots into believing it, I am talking about the average guy on the street. This shows that all the politicians screaming that Bush was manipulating oil prices actually sunk in on some of the sheeple. I know that a lot of people believed that Bush was behind the price increases and that he was responsible for Exxon’s 10 billion dollar profit.

Well, on 15 September the US government had its highest intake of taxes in history. That was the quarterly deadline for tax payments and the 85.8 billion dollars eclipsed the previous record of 71 billion set on the same date last year. It is amazing that we have record taxes coming in after those nasty Bush tax cuts. Amazingly, the experts don’t really agree with the folks who continue to claim that we have a bad economy:

“In fact, Friday’s gross receipts were the largest in a single day in the nation’s history – 20% higher than receipts on the same quarterly tax payment date last year,” Quarles said in a statement.

So tell me again how those tax cuts hurt the economy.
