Hillary Acts Moderate, Again

Hillary Clinton was in a little hot water with her daughter who was upset that her mother intimated that the youth of America does not work hard. Hillary said that she did not mean it that way.

“I said, ‘I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to convey the impression that you don’t work hard,'” Clinton said Sunday in a commencement address at Long Island University. “I just want to set the bar high, because we are in a competition for the future.”

Clinton spoke to more than 2,000 graduates days after she criticized young people at a gathering of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington. In those remarks, she said young people have a sense of entitlement after growing up in a “culture that has a premium on instant gratification.”

It is interesting that a woman who espouses liberal ideals of giving away the farm instead of working hard for things is talking about the culture of instant gratification. Her husband was certainly in favor of instant gratification and Hillary was instantly gratified in her business dealings.

Her daughter Chelsea made a fuss about the comment telling mother H that she [Chelsea] works hard. I am sure she does but given that she has a 6 figure job at 26 years of age, and the job was probably a political favor, it is hard to see how Hillary is against this idea of instant gratification. I know many people who have worked a lot of years (I have worked more than Chelsea has been alive) who do not make 6 figures in salary. Chelsea was given a job as a favor to mommy and daddy. Hillary was partly correct, it is the children of privileged liberals who get instant gratification and do not have to work hard. Of course, Hillary never objected to that instant gratification.

Without realizing it and in her zeal to appear moderate Hillary has given credence to what conservatives believe and that is we need to put an end to the entitlement society. Instant gratification is part of the entitlement mindset. The folks who receive the entitlements want it and they want it now. Where is my check? How come the government has not built me my new home in New Orleans? Why is New Orleans still a mess? How come I can not be a legal worker NOW, I only broke the law getting in. Hillary has shown that the right is correct and the entitlement society has to go. Yes Hill, hard work, not welfare, is what people need to espouse.

After deriding instant gratification Clinton said she is introducing a bill that would make it easier for college students to pay their loans. This will help them have more disposable income more quickly. She wants to make it easier on them right up front, or in other words, give them instant gratification:

New York’s junior senator, who is up for re-election this year, also told the graduates she plans to introduce a bill that would help college students manage and repay their loans. The proposal would limit loan payments to a certain percentage of their incomes, she said.
