Give Something Back

I have always believed that one of the things that makes America a great country is the willingness of its people to give back to the community. I joined the Army when I was 19 and spent 24 years serving my country. I never asked for special treatment and I never wanted anything for doing what I considered my duty. Yes, despite the fact that I am supporting the Marine team and that others have referred to me as a jarhead or Marine, I am a Soldier and I served in the Army.

America produces some of the greatest men and women in the world and they volunteer to serve in our armed forces. We did not get to be a free and independent country by backing down. Our founding fathers realized that passiveness would submit us to the rule of tyranny. Many brave men and women have given their lives so that we can express ourselves any way we want. We are, without a doubt, the nation with the most freedom and we owe that to the valiant men and women in uniform.

America has never backed down from a fight. We prefer to live and let live but when you attack us or our friends we are there to fight, and if necessary, die to defeat the enemy. We are engaged in a fight that is unlike any in the history of the world. Radicals who practice a “religion of peace” are hell bent on destroying the very fabric of our society and of the free world. We can not, no we will not, let that happen. Today a new breed of military has taken up arms against an aggressor. We have the best trained, best equipped, and best motivated fighting force in the world. We are the envy of every other nation. There are many rogue nations who talk a big fight but in their hearts they know that they do not want to engage in battle with the United States. We can and we will destroy any barrier to our existence, including the anti-war factions in our very own homeland.

Unfortunately, war means injury and death. Many of our warfighters are surviving injuries that would have taken their lives in the past. The sadness is that with the survival comes the realization that these war fighters have lost limbs and will never be the same. They do not cry, they do not blame, and they do not have regrets about what has happened. They are more often saddened that they can not still be in the fight with their comrades. They have an esprit that the protected can never understand.

Project Valour IT is a very worthy cause to bring technology to our wounded heroes so they may live more normal lives. We have technology that did not exist 10 years ago and it can help these heroes to function despite their injuries. Our goal is to raise $21,000 so that we can buy voice activated software and laptop computers for those who gave so that we can be safe. Regardless of how one feels about the war or the current administration there is no denying that these brave men and women did what they were asked to do. They did what they swore to do when they signed up and they did so without reservation. Our warfighters are not pawns in a political chess game, they are caring, feeling human beings who stand on the forefront of democracy and serve as the guardians of our freedom. Please help make their lives better by giving to the Project.
