Give Amnesty And They Will Come

In 1986 the United States offered amnesty to the millions of ILLEGALS living here. The news of that brought even more ILLEGALS to this country hoping to become citizens or obtain a legal status despite having broken the law. Reward bad behavior and you get more bad behavior. In 1986 we were assured that the move would curb ILLEGAL immigration and that the number of ILLEGALS would reduce, not grow. Twenty years later and we have about twelve million ILLEGALS in this country. I guess the plan did not work, as politicians were well aware. Now that they are trying to placate ILLEGALS to garner votes they have opened the door again. The promise of obtaining legal status without repercussion for breaking the law is encouraging more people to enter the US ILLEGALLY

This time, the draw is a bill before the U.S. Senate that could legalize some of the 11 million people now illegally in the United States while tightening border security. Migrants are hurrying to cross over in time to qualify for a possible guest-worker program – and before the journey becomes even harder.

“Every time there is talk in the north of legalizing migrants, people get their hopes up, but they don’t realize how hard it will be to cross,” Loureiro said.

Politicians just do not seem to get it. You get more of what you subsidize. If we pay young women to have babies as teens then more of them have babies as teens. If we pay farmers not to grow crops, more of them do not grow crops. If we ignore the law breaking ILLEGALS past transgressions and give them legal status more of them will rush in ILLEGALLY to obtain legal status. We might just as well put a gate at the border and hand out citizenship on their way through and save the ILLEGALS all the trouble.

Why is it that when citizens of this country break the law they are prosecuted and punished yet when NON CITIZENS break the law we welcome them with open arms? We have this mentality that they provide such a valuable service to the job market that we can not do anything to them. A citizen who works and pays taxes but gets a DWI provides a valuable service to this country with his job but that does not stop the government from screwing him to the cross in the legal system. Because of my profession I know a number of people who have had a DWI. Most everyone of them is not an alcoholic and just exercised bad judgement. Yet that did not stop the government from imposing years of sanctions and raking them for more than 10 thousand dollars in legal fees. Some of them have been raped by a system of inept people that elected officials care little to hear about or fix. Governor Ehrlich and his transportation Secretary Robert Flanagan care little about anyone who is not famous or rich. Yet this very state thinks nothing of providing ILLEGALS with a driver’s license and makes every attempt to allow them to vote.

We have allowed the inmates to run the asylum and it is time to put our foot down. If we grant amnesty to these ILLEGALS then every American who has been charged and convicted of a non felony should have his record expunged and given amnesty.
