Not long ago Barack Obama went to Europe where he spoke to a large crowd of people in Berlin. The atmosphere was unbelievable and the natives were awed by the star in their presence. John McCain put out an ad featuring Paris Hilton and Britney Spears with Obama designed to show that Barry was a star, a celeb, is among the A-listers. This even played on Barry’s past comment that the attention focused upon him and how much he has been spoken about makes Ms. Hilton seem like a recluse. Of course, some idiots found racism in the ad but there are some liberals who would find racism in a tomato.
Obama complained about the ad (as did Hilton’s mother). Barry and his people want us to believe it is juvenile and all this talk about celebrity is a distraction to the real issues. One would have thought that the Messiah would have learned a lesson about going overseas and about how the appearance of being a celebrity can hurt a campaign. He should be up by a lot but is even or losing depending upon the pollster and who is polled.
It would look like Obambi did not learn on either count. He will be going to Switzerland on September 2nd for a fund raiser being held by George Clooney, another 47 year old liberal who lives an elitist life. Obama will go to a foreign country for a fund raiser. Of course his campaign swears that only money from those who are eligible to donate will be accepted. However, given his propensity for taking huge illegal donations, one has to wonder.
I can’t understand why they would risk alienating Americans by going overseas again. This has to give the appearance of elitism and the pairing of Obama with Clooney certainly does nothing to get rid of the “distraction” of being a rock star.
This is appropriate though, if you think about it. Aside from the fact that Obama is a huge celebrity, which he can deny forever but will be wrong each time he does, the pairing, makes perfect sense. George Clooney is a nice looking (though he looks a lot older than 47) guy who gets paid well because he can read words that someone else wrote and he can read them well. That describes Obama to a tee. He is quite eloquent when he is reading the words that someone wrote for him. As long as either of these guys has a script, then all is well. Without a script they are both babbling fools.
It seems to me that Obama is getting too big for his britches. He is starting to believe the hype and he is giving himself more importance than he merits. Since about half the population thinks we are hearing way too much about this guy, it won’t be long before people are turned off completely by him.
