Frankly World, I Don’t Give A Damn

In the movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High Sean Penn played the part of a stoner who was a screw up in school (so was he really acting?). His teacher, Mr. Hand was always on his case. This is from one of the exchanges:

Mr. Hand: Food will be eaten on your time, Mr. Spicoli. Mr. Spicoli, why are you continually late for this class? Why are you continually wasting my time and the class’s with this tirade every day?
Jeff Spicoli: Uh, uh… I don’t know.
Mr. Hand: “‘Am I going to pass this class, Mr. Hand?’ ‘I don’t KNOW, Mr. Spicoli.’ I don’t know. I like that, Mr. Spicoli. I’m going to leave your words on the blackboard so all my classes can share your wisdom.”

The President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, did his best Rhett Butler impersonation when discussing the possible sanctions on his country for enriching Uranium. He said:”Those who want to prevent Iranians from obtaining their right, should know that we do not give a damn to such resolutions.”

Maybe we can get Mr. Hand to address Ahmadinejad. [Hand] I don’t give a damn? That is a good answer Mahmoud. I will remember that. Mr. Hand, will the US bomb us back to the stone age? I don’t know. Will sanctions cause untold pain and suffering within my borders? I don’t know. I like that a lot Mahmoud. I am going to write that on the board so the rest of the world can see it when you disappear from existence.

We need Mr. Hand in charge of the UN.
