We citizens in the USA have some hard choices ahead of us when we go to vote in the 2008 General Elections. In my post tonight at People Power Granny I discuss many of the numbers associated with the major issues on my radar screen. Let me know what issues get you riled, and vote in my poll.

I received an email with these statistics regarding the last election in it the other day but this time around I am hoping enough people wake up and vote third party--I for one listened to the lesser of two evils mantra and voted for Bush and now what are we getting again?--the same thing and I am not wasting my vote again on another Republican for anything.

Number of States won by:
Gore: 21 (Includes D.C.)
Bush: 30

Square miles of land won by:
Gore: 580,000
Bush: 2,427,000

Population of counties won by:
Gore: 127 million
Bush: 143 million

Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by:
Gore: 13.2
Bush: 2.1

Professor Olson adds:

'In aggregate, the map of the territory Bush won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of this great country.
