We citizens in the USA have some hard choices ahead of us when we go to vote in the 2008 General Elections. I received an email with these statistics regarding the last election in it the other day but this time around I am hoping enough people wake up and vote third party–I for one listened to the lesser of two evils mantra and voted for Bush and now what are we getting again?–the same thing and I am not wasting my vote again on another Republican for anything.

Number of States won by:
Gore: 21 (Includes D.C.)
Bush: 30

Square miles of land won by:
Gore: 580,000
Bush: 2,427,000

Population of counties won by:
Gore: 127 million
Bush: 143 million

Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by:
Gore: 13.2
Bush: 2.1

Professor Olson adds:

‘In aggregate, the map of the territory Bush won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of this great country.
