DOD Hosts The Freedom Walk

On the 4th anniversary of the September 11 attack, the Department of Defense (DOD) invites you to join them in the first “Freedom Walk.” The Walk will begin at the Pentagon and wend its way past most of the major Washington monuments until it ends at the National Mall. Following the event, the crowd will be treated to a concert by Country singer/songwriter Clint Black.

The “America Supports You Freedom Walk” is an event on September 11 that allows citizens the opportunity to remember the victims of September 11, honor our veterans past and present, and celebrate our freedom.

Next year, the DOD hopes each state will host a Freedom Walk of their own — providing more people with the opportunity to honor the fallen, the veterans, those currently serving and celebrate the freedom we enjoy as Americans. Registration for either walking or volunteering to help can be completed at the site.

The DOD initiated the America Supports You program to provide a link between our men and women in armed service in Iraq and around the world with those supporting them here at home. The America Supports You Web site offers a conduit to send messages of support to the troops and provides many additional ways to assist them, including donating Frequent Flyer Miles.

  1. Big Dog Guy! says:

    Hey Big Dog!

    Yeah!

    I love it!

Let’s show those Lefties how we support our country and remember the fallen of September 11, 2001.

We’re gonna march from the Pentagon to a cemetery! That means we don’t have to deal with any of those obnoxious New Yorkers (Lefties all) in our tribute to those who’ve died in Iraq. And Afghanistan. And other places.

And we get to hear country music!

I am proud to register with the US military for this privelege. Though I am not in the US military I support them fighting for me by wearing a big yellow ribbon on my SUV. It cost me $4.99 at a gas station! That’ll show those Lefties where my loyalties lie!

America first! We’ll bomb anyone who doesn’t agree with us!

    I Heart America!
