I agree with you, huge problems with this country right now:

1. Borrowing money $1.3 trillion against Bonds owned by China 500 billions (U.S. bonds) and North Korea 500 billion (U.S. Bonds). If China asks for the U.S. to pay back even 3% of what we owe them, the dollar will be worth almost nothing in this country.
So everybody remember that every time you see your secretary of state piss them off!

2. Remember our other big problem is that oour leaders are elected by none tax payers (college grads & welfare recipents)

3. How will will we print more money if we get attacked on our soil after we have spent so much already?

The NEA has issued over 119,000 grants since it came into existence in 1965. You take issue with how many? But apparently art jobs and money spent on the arts don't count as stimulating the economy?

National Endowment for the Arts?? They're the ones who funded "Piss Christ" (crucifix in urine) & a damned bimbo on stage who allowed the audience to inspect the inner workings of her crotch with a flashlight. The list of other tax-funded absurdities is very long.

Perhaps you were too young to realize it. Perhaps you didn't care. Or both.

Wise up!

Old lie...
The rest of the world had a depression. We had a great depression.

I know they don't teach these things in school but there are a number of different articles on this with in depth analysis.

The things done at that time made it worse. FDR was more concerned with getting more Democratic votes than anything else.

None of the items in the stimulus are called for in the Constitution and none of them will stimulate the economy.

This has been shown time and again. You talk about cutting taxes for the lower class when they pay NONE!

You are right though, allowing people to keep more money will stimulate spending. So cut taxes for everyone, especially the people who actually pay taxes.

Right now people are holding on to their money because they know that the gubmint is not the solution.

Once again, you can use the libtard Pelosi arguments but these things do not stimulate the economy. We should though, use the Limbaugh Obama plan to see what really works.

All of the increases you are talking about have to be paid for by people who actually work and pay taxes. They are the same things that FDR tried and gave us the depression.

Bush 41 cut the military more than Clinton and he doesn't make your naughty list, so what gives?

Furthermore, defense spending is up nearly 50% since Clinton left office and an 11% cut has you once again saying Obama hates the troops? Apparently defense spending should simply go up, up, up every year for you to be happy just like it did under Reagan and Bush 43?

Apparently if you don't agree with the spending that means you think it won't stimulate anything?

For instance: tax cuts for the lower class, increased medicaid benefits, increases in education spending, expanded unemployment and food stamps, public works projects for transit systems? These things can cut the cost of living down for people of all make and money and especially those struggling with unemployment or low wages right now. This means they have more money to put back into the economy and feel less inclined to keep tightening their belts.

Apparently on the subject of the arts you fail to realize that endowments fund thousands of organizations and employ millions of Americans. The arts not put people to work but it gets people like you and me out and about putting extra money back in the economy at the same time that it enriches our lives.

The trouble with our economy is not the amount of debt. We need revenue going back into the economy and spending in these areas is aimed at getting money flowing again.
