I wrote a post on Nancy Pelosi being retarded- there I was trying to make a point by being as blunt as possible, but I can sympathize with the parents of challenged people, as well as the people themselves. In the end, it is not the word itself, but the intent in which it was used- like calling policemen doing their jobs, "Stupid."
