Death of a Friend and Comrade in Arms

CSM Haller

CSM Roger Haller of the Maryland Army National Guard was killed when the Black Hawk helicopter he was in crashed on Saturday. CSM Haller was an instructor at the 70th Regiment where he taught leadership classes. I worked with CSM Haller and proudly served with him in years past.

May God have mercy on his soul and comfort his family in their time of loss. He will be missed by many.
Rest in peace my friend.

Please offer a prayer for this warrior and his family.

I am so sorry for our loss. I understand he is more of a loss to you because you knew him personally, but he is a loss to us all. I pray for his family, loved ones and others to be comforted by our Lord.

I once heard it said that it is better to die for a purpose than it is to waste an entire life. He certainly will be blessed.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I don’t have the right words, that is why I ramble. Take care, my friend.

I was a student of CSM Haller’s for a couple weeks at the 70th RGT when I was in the Guard. Haller WAS the standard. He was one of the most memorable and outstanding SNCOs I ever knew.
