Countries, Riots, and Defaults

So, has anyone else noticed the commonalities going on around the world now? Unions in Greece are massively rioting with injuries all around — because their government is voting for tax increases for them and fewer benefits for the union members. The UK has started huge strikes and protests because their government is reducing union benefits and cash.

And in America, Obama insists that the only way to avoid default is to raise taxes — on non-union people.

I think Obama is afraid that if he agrees to reduce free stuff, benefits, and piles of cash for union members that there will be riots and protests here — and there likely would be — but I wonder if most people would notice?

After all, people not employed by government would just continue working. Those who homeschool and use private schools would just keep learning. In fact, that might be the biggest fear of Obama and his union pals — that if all the public sector unions went on strike at once that most people wouldn’t notice or care — and then the real value of those public sector unions would become quite apparent…

These, and entitlements consitiute the largest national security threat we’ve ever faced. Hussein goes golfing, Mooshelle goes eating and Americans suffer.

Obama and the unions- but two heads of the hydra.
All of this is going to come down to who blinks first. Look, I really have no dog in the hunt here, as I doubt I will ever have substantial money to be taxed, but I do know that IF I was to ever have that, I would not want to be taxed onerously- would you?
After all America is supposed to be the land where anything is possible, NOT the land of limitations.
