Cold Weather Will Take Out The FLEAs

The FLEA (Free Loading Enemies of America) baggers occupying Wall Street will soon face an enemy that is unrelenting and will provide the stiffest push back the disorganized movement has seen. That enemy is winter in New York and it has begun to thin the numbers of FLEA baggers on site. Those who are left huddle together for warmth and several cases of hypothermia have been treated.

The winter in New York can be brutal. It gets very cold and it snows. The outside is not a safe place for people to be and I doubt very seriously that many FLEA baggers will stay through the harsh winter season even if they are vowing to stay until things change. It would appear that anyone who actually stayed until things changed might die there.

In any event, the number of people staying there continues to decrease and these folks will likely be all gone in the next few weeks.

There might be a few die hard protesters and given how harsh New York winters are those who stay might actually die hard…

Might get interesting in the next few weeks.

Pop the popcorn…

Cave canem!
Never surrender, never submit.

Maybe they’ll just start protesting only on the weekends like the TEA Party.

  2. Adam says:

The right likes to pretend underemployment is 20% and everybody everywhere is struggling to find work under Obama. Except apparently liberals, those lazy bums. The right can’t pass up a chance to tell a hippy protester to “get a job” as if that’s a witty remark or new in any way. Every single time I’ve ever marched on the streets in protest someone has told me that.

    • Big Dog says:

When you marched in the street you left and went back to school (not to your job) and if you marched in the street while employed you left that day and went back to work on your next scheduled work day. The folks in the TEA Party have their events on weekends when most people do not work and then go home and go back to work.

I know from your post you would like to convey the image that the OWS people are the same or that they all have jobs but since they are liveing there for weeks on end it is safe for us to assume they are unemployed.

If they had jobs they would not be staying there.

      Nice try though.

      • Adam says:

“I know from your post you would like to convey the image that the OWS people are the same or that they all have jobs…”

No, clearly you misunderstand. Obviously those camping out are not working. Of course the occupy movement itself is made up of much more than simply those camping out at Wall Street but that’s a different conversation. I simply find it hilarious how focused you are on unemployment and underemployment when you can hammer Obama but then when you see a group of liberals camping out you tell them to get a job. You don’t see the irony?

        • Big Dog says:

No Adam, I don’t because I know there are jobs out there but they are not the ones these people want. They want the money that OTHER people have worked for. You see, unemployment is high but that does not mean you give up looking and camp out on the street. You keep looking.

A company showed up there and offered to give jobs to anyone who was qualified. Only one person showed interest. Surely there had to be a few qualified folks there…

          • Adam says:

Then I expect to see no more complaints about unemployment or underemployment. Clearly there are jobs out there and it’s not Obama’s fault that people won’t them.

            • Big Dog says:

There are jobs depending on what you are willing to do. Fast food always needs burger flippers (right up OWS’s alley). There would be plenty of jobs if Obama and the Dems did not impose punitive measures in regulations. Many businesses would hire if the tax situation was resolved and if there were not so many burdens hanging over their heads (Obamacare, EPA BS, etc).

Yes, it is Obama’s fault. There are jobs for people in OWS because they are qualified to do menial tasks. There would be plenty of jobs if the gubmint was not causing the problems.

I know you don’t expect to hear the truth but you are not going to silence it through parlor games…

    • Blake says:

There is no pretending about the 20% unemployment, Adam- I should know- I am one of those “self- employed” carpenters- the others are electricians, masons, insulators, A?C installers, all who are “self-employed” so the builder doesn’t have to pay workmen’s comp or other insurance, or take out and match our social security.
We cannot apply for unemployment, because we “are our own bosses”- what a scam.
There are an average of fifteen workers working on one house at any given time. Think about it- we can’t get unemployment, so we are not counted in the government statistics- 9.1% looks better than the reality, 17- 20%, now doesn’t it?

      • Adam says:

Why do you feel the need to lie about this Blake? You know that BLS does not calculate unemployment based on who collects unemployment insurance.

9.1% is the reality, Blake, not your 17% or 20% or whatever cooked up number you want to throw around to suggest things are worse than they are. Things are bad all over. Why do you feel the need to lie when the truth is just as damning?

        • Blake says:

You are wrong, Adam- if someone is not counted in the FIRST TIME UNEMPLOYMENT NUMBERS, meaning they have applied for unemployment compensation, (not me)- they are not counted in the figures. This makes the figures better, but is a lie- one that has been perpetuated by both sides, so I am not pinning this on Obama- I have beenbipartisanly screwed by both sides here.
But what I say IS the truth—-

          • Adam says:

“But what I say IS the truth—-”

Sorry. It’s just not. All politics aside, here is BLS talking about Unemployment Insurance figures:

These data are not used to measure total unemployment because they exclude several important groups.

            And again:

Because unemployment insurance records relate only to persons who have applied for such benefits, and since it is impractical to actually count every unemployed person each month, the Government conducts a monthly sample survey called the Current Population Survey (CPS) to measure the extent of unemployment in the country.

If you are self-employed and looking for work you are counted in the survey.

  3. Big Dog says:

And it certainly is Obama’s fault that people are not taking jobs. He and the Dems have created a class of people who sit around waiting for money they do not have to work to get.

  4. Adam says:

“Many businesses would hire if the tax situation was resolved…”

Actually they’d hire if there was demand, something Obama has a plan for but won’t get done because the GOP wants the economy to continue moving sideways in order to hurt him. A TEA Party organization in recent days has been shown to be in lockstep with the agenda meant to damage our economy simply to hurt Obama. How is it you guys are the patriotic ones, again?

    • Big Dog says:

There you go again, lying. The Senate is controlled by Democrats and they did not pass it. Also, don’t lie about his plan to create jobs and fix things. His idea of fixing taxes is to increase them and that will not cause businesses to hire. Also, his “jobs” plan will not create jobs. The fact that he is introducing it shows that Stimulus I failed and contrary to your claims did nothing to create jobs or help the economy, both of which it was supposed to do.

Did not work then, will not work now.

Lower tax rates across the board. Cut corporate tax in half and make these permenant and we will see hiring (as long as bank and EPA regs are not restrictive).

      • Adam says:

“The Senate is controlled by Democrats and they did not pass it.”

Now who’s lying? A majority in the Senate voted for the American Jobs Act to come up for debate but guess what Republicans did? Oh, they filibustered it? So much for the old yes or no the Republicans were always calling for when they had no voice in the Senate.

“The fact that he is introducing it shows that Stimulus I failed and contrary to your claims did nothing to create jobs or help the economy…”

You still love that “it did nothing” bit that is completely divorced from reality, don’t you?

You do realize that small businesses aren’t hiring because of lack of customers right? It has very little to do with regulations and taxes. Obama’s plan would create economic growth. What resembles a GOP plan protects the wealthy and would sink us into a recession. Patriotic.

        • Big Dog says:

The vote was 50-50. I know you had a public education but surely you know that this does not constitute a majority. Some Dems voted no. They know Stimulus I did not work and that people will vote them out of office. They are worried about supporting another stimulus that will not work. Smeall businesses are not hiring because there are no customers? Sure, there would be if the government regulations and uncertainty let them hire then there would be customers.

          • Adam says:

It was 50-49 because Reid switched his vote at the last minute to no for whatever the reason they do that for when it becomes clear it won’t pass. There was one person not voting.

  5. Big Dog says:

Keynsian economics has failed and Obama helped demonstrate that failure…

    • Adam says:

That’s like creating a massive fire in a warehouse and then when the fire department can’t put it out you run out with “Modern fire fighting has failed and this fire department helped demonstrate that failure…”

No, decades of Reaganomics has left us in this mess. It takes a lot longer to clean the sheets than you’d like after your side messes the bed.

      • Big Dog says:

Reaganomics worked quite well. It got us out of the Democrat and Jimmy Carter recession and reduced unemployment. It increased revenue to the government. Why did things go bad? Because Congress spent EVEN more. You can have your own opinion but you are not entitled to your own facts.

We have seen it time and again. FDR, Carter, Obama, and the European countries, Keynsian economics does not work.
