Pelosi Should Be Put Out To Pasture

Nancy Pelosi is warning that if the Supreme Court rules in favor of those challenging the subsidies in Obamacare win it will cost Republicans because allegedly 8 million people have the coverage and rely on them. She predicts that it will harm all those folks and Republicans will pay a price.
She claims that this is all because a phrase in the law has been taken out of context.
Pelosi said she knew the law well and that opponents were relying on a phrase taken “out of context” in pressing their case before the court. AP News
The woman who said you had to pass it to find out what was in it now claims that she knows the law well? The same law that continues to have surprises pop up because no one knew they were there?
Right…
As for out of context, the Democrats made it clear that only states that set up exchanges would get subsidies when they were pushing the bill on us. They made it clear this was a carrot and stick approach where states would be provided incentives to set up exchanges and one of the incentives was subsidies.
Now that someone has challenged that part of the law the Democrats have rewritten history and are claiming this is what they meant all along.
They are liars as is Pelosi.
I do not think Republicans will pay a price for this if the ruling in their favor. The law says what it says and that is how it should be followed.
Of course liberals have trouble with following the wording of the Second Amendment (hell all of the Constitution) so I expect them to be clueless in this regard as well.

Facts Can Be A Tricky Thing

And they can, of course, be spun to mean whatever result is wanted.
In a recent piece in The Hill Marko (Kos) Moulitsas paints a picture of a wonderful world under Obamacare and how Republicans were so wrong about the outcome that it is funny. He points to a number of quotes from the past and then tells his readers that the person who made them is wrong. He does not say exactly why they are wrong so the impression is that what was claimed did not happen. He does not back his claims up, he only says the original claim is wrong.
He discusses John Boehner and Rush Limbaugh and their claim that Obamacare would destroy over 2 million jobs. Jobs numbers are difficult to pin down because the BLS uses many metrics and the government spins those in a number of different ways in order to paint the picture it wants. The population was 3 million more in March 2015 than in March 2010 (I selected March to give a 5 year timeframe from when the law was passed).
The number of jobs gained or lost is always tricky but the reality is while there are more being created now they are not offsetting the numbers lost in any meaningful way. The reports are nearly always lower than expected and in a few weeks get readjusted down.
But looking at the labor participation rate the rate in 2010 was 65% and in 2015 63%. This means there are 4.2 million fewer people participating in the labor force than there were when the law was passed. 58.06 MILLION people have stopped looking and are no longer counted. Certainly if there would be so many jobs the numbers of people participating would go up, not down. Once again though, labor numbers are tricky things.
It is also true that there are no accurate ways to measure how many people decided not to open a business or expand one because of Obamacare. There are anecdotal stories but no real data that I can find.
While there is merit to Kos’s claim that Sen. Tom Coburn was way off when he predicted there would be no insurance industry left in three years it is also true that insurance companies are taking big hits and if it were not for government taxpayer dollars being sent to cover losses the insurance industry might well be a shell of what it once was. It is pretty easy to go along when big government tells you it will cover your losses.
It is also true that many insurance companies have had to raise rates because the participation is not what was expected. The cost to consumers is going up even though Obamacare was supposed to stop that.
Kos went after Glenn Beck for his 2009 claim that this would be the end of prosperity in America and the end of America as we know it. Well the reality is the rise of Obama to power was the end of America as we knew it. That aside, Kos claims, as evidence that Beck is wrong, he (Kos) can still buy an apple pie from a cashier wearing a flag pin. This is not an accurate indication of the state of the nation. I can buy an apple pie from a guy wearing a turban who reads the Koran but that does not mean the nation is now a Muslim nation. There are many stores where Kos can no longer buy a pie because they have shut down.
And when he buys that pie it costs a lot more than it did 5 years ago.
Then Kos goes on to discuss Rand Paul’s 2013 assertion that Obamacare will lead to bankruptcy in states that fully embrace it. He made the claim in 2013 so time will tell but Kos decided that the only states in trouble are those that did not embrace Obamacare and its expansions. He cites Florida and Gov. Rick Scott. Kos claims Scott is begging DC to close his billion dollar budget hole that Kos claims was brought about by refusal to expand Medicaid.
The deficit is in place because the federal government, in an effort to coerce states (in defiance of the Supreme Court ruling) to expand Medicaid, has cut an existing program. The federal government decided to end or cut back the money spent on the Low Income Pool. This is a federal program that has been in place for some time and is different than the Medicaid program. Folks in LIP are not necessarily in Medicaid (and might not even qualify). That program was to continue but the federal government decided to end or scale it back to force states like Florida to expand Medicaid. Scott is not begging for money to close a budget gap he caused. He is asking the feds not to end the program they started and they funded. He claims, rightly so, that there has been no reduction in the taxes Florida pays to the feds but they are taking away the program those taxes paid for and they are doing it just to force compliance.
Once again, Kos misses the mark.

Millions of people lost coverage because of Obamacare an then when they were forced to sign up under the law they were touted as people helped by it. They were harmed and forced to join.
As for how wonderful Obamacare is and how those states that adopted it are doing great, how about Hawaii? It is a liberal haven and it went all in on Obamacare. It had over 205 MILLION dollars in federal funding to set up the exchange but it became financially unviable and after the state refused to spend 28 MILLION to bail it out, it will close. Everything will be shifted to the federal exchange and people will likely have to sign up all over again.
The reality is Hawaii went all in and failed. There are several other states that have had problems with the exchanges and many issues deal with the fact that not enough people are signing up for insurance. The government is once again wasting billions of dollars on a failed program.
Markos Moulitsas is a far left wing hack who suckles at the teat of liberalism. His article was a puff piece to shower his liberal friends with fairy dust while he gets in his obligatory shots at Republicans with whom he disagrees.
I know Kos thinks Obamacare is great but if it is so wonderful why did they have to force people to get it? No one has to force people to buy an iPhone because it is a great product. The same would be true if Obamacare was so wonderful.
If it is so great why were there so many waivers granted?
It is not fully implemented and already it is costing a fortune. It is not covering everybody (a claim once made but backed off on) and it is stifling the economy.
It is not the only thing but it is one of them. Nearly every Obama policy stifles growth and Obamacare is no different.

What Should Republicans Do About Obama?

Barack Hussein Obama is a lawless scoundrel who ignores the US Constitution in order to do and get what he wants. He thinks he is above the law and he thinks that he should be be allowed to do as he wishes, Constitution be damned.
The list of illegal things Obama has done is long and has been largely ignored by his stenographers in the media.
Obama is about to exceed the boundaries of his authority, HIS CONSTITUTIONAL AUTHORITY, and basically grant amnesty via Executive Order. He will issue an EO that will ignore the immigration laws of our country, laws he swore to uphold when he took his oath of office.
There is no doubt his actions, which will likely take place when Congress is in recess (cowards do things like that) are illegal. He himself stated they were illegal and that he did not have the authority to do what he is about to do when he explained his inaction to people pushing for immigration reform. At one time, as evidenced by passages in one of his books, Obama blamed the problems in this nation on the influx of illegal immigrants. Now he needs new Democrat voters so all of the sudden the problem does not exist (the problems he outlined in the book) and he has all the authority in the world to do it.
He is acting outside his lane and he needs to be taken down for it.
The Republicans have been fairly impotent on the issue of Obama’s lawlessness particularly with regard to immigration. They have weapons at their disposal and they should use them.
Speaker John Boehner should announce that if Obama uses Executive Orders to address the immigration issue (or any other issue) that the House will draw up impeachment articles when the new Congress is seated.
There is not really an issue with the House passing the articles of impeachment because the only thing required is a simple majority and Republicans have more than enough people to meet that.
The problem is in the Senate. In order for Obama to be removed from office he must be convicted by two-thirds of the Senate and Republicans do not have enough votes to do that. Democrats would have to vote to convict and it is not likely they will do so.
So what is the real leverage? Well, Boehner should let it be known that the articles of impeachment will not be for just the EOs. He should make it clear that Obama will have articles drawn up for every perceived unlawful action. That includes Fast and Furious, the lies regarding Obamacare, Benghazi, and every other single item that can be remotely hung around his neck.
Big deal, right? I mean there are still not enough votes to convict because of the Senate.
Yep, but the Senate must still conduct a trial where each side gets to present evidence (and the Chief Justice presides). That means there must be discovery and all of Obama’s stuff can be subpoenaed. Think about all the Fast and Furious documents that the has hidden away. How about all the Benghazi stuff or the things that were sent around regarding the IRS targeting of conservative groups. Every item that could be gathered would be used against him (hard drive crashes aside /sarc) and it is quite likely that a number of his Democrat pals in Congress would be dragged through the mud in the fray. Think about Elijah Cummings of Maryland or Chuckie Schumer of New York having their dirty laundry aired as evidence of their involvement comes to light.
Tell Obama and the Democrats that if he issues the EOs the Republicans are going for blood with the impeachment and even if he survives he will be damaged and unable to function.
And if there are Democrats that decide not to convict they can be made to pay for that in the next election. I wonder how many Democrats would beg Obama not to use the EOs knowing that a full blown impeachment with dozens of charges and many witnesses with all the subpoenaed documents might implicate them or damage them politically.
The process would certainly derail government and keep Obama from doing any more harm. His legacy would be flushed down the toilet and he would go down in history as a failed and corrupt politician.
All of that over an EO? The Republicans need to get really tough and let Obama know what they will do to him if he oversteps his bounds. The Democrats all cried that if Republicans won they would impeach Obama. Well let’s make that come true for them.
Hammer that little schmuck’s ass to the table and keep it there. Make him pay for being corrupt. Let his kids see daddy’s evil deeds displayed across the world in the Senate trial.
The threat might stop him. But to be sure the Republicans should start drawing up the articles now. That should get some attention.

The Only Thing Transparent Is Pelosi’s Lie

Nancy Pelosi is a liar. She is not making mistakes and her advanced age is not responsible for her untruths. She is just a flat out liar.
Recently, videos surfaced of a man named Jonathan Gruber of MIT (who was involved in the crafting of Obamacare) where he discusses the underhanded tactics used to get Obamacare passed and where he calls the public stupid. He basically confirms what the thinking among us knew and that is the Democrats deliberately lied in order to pass Obamacare and they banked on the stupidity (their perception) of Americans for it to happen.
Nancy Pelosi was asked about Gruber’s comments and she said she did not know him and that he was not involved in crafting the bill.
SHE LIED.
In 2009 Pelosi cited Gruber when talking about Obamacare. She also named him on the Speaker’s website.
So yes, she knows who he is.
As for him helping to craft it:
A 2012 article in the New York Times states:
After Mr. Gruber helped the administration put together the basic principles of the proposal, the White House lent him to Capitol Hill to help Congressional staff members draft the specifics of the legislation.
This would be the same Capitol Hill where Pelosi was Speaker of the House. She or her staff more than likely worked with the guy.
Regardless, she mentioned him by name and had his name on the Speaker’s website. How could she discuss his work and not know who he was?
She is lying because she is a lying sack of crap. She is a liberal progressive twit who believes that the end justifies the means.
Keep in mind that Gruber said that the lack of transparency allowed them to deceive the American public in order to get Obamacare passed and Pelosi proves that they are not above this approach by lying, or should I say not being transparent, about knowing him.
Then again, maybe she thought they were asking about Hans Gruber…

Bad News On Hold Until After The Election

Obamacare is wonderful and it will cut your costs while allowing you to keep your plans and doctors.
That claim is the millstone hung around the necks of Democrats who rammed the albatross down our throats. They are being reminded of what they said, what they did and the actual outcome. Many of those Democrats are running away from Obama and their support of Obamacare.
The law is a bad one and it hurts people and our economy. The thing is so disliked that Obama had to grant waivers to his supporters so they would not suffer like everyone else. Obama illegally delayed portions of the law until after the November midterm elections in order to give his sock puppets a chance to win.
The premiums for next year are in and they are UP. Some states will see double digit increases which means a lot more money will come out of the pockets of those forced to buy insurance.
The premium amounts are only speculation at this time because Obama is withholding that information until after the midterm election. Those in the know claim there are rate hikes everywhere and they will be big in a number of places. Obama knows they are up and bad or he would release them NOW. If they were good (a modest increase) or better yet lower he would be screaming from the rooftops about how his grand scheme worked.
The fact that the numbers are being delayed means they are bad, really bad. They are so bad the Democrats are worried that releasing them prior to the election would sink the chances of many Democrats seeking reelection.
The self proclaimed most transparent administration in history is as clear as mud. The numbers, like all bad news, are being hidden. In this case the bad news is being hidden in order to influence the election.
Obamacare is bad. It should never have passed and it was passed ONLY by Democrats.
Do us all a favor and remove them from office.
Make them pay for making us pay…
