Given this fact, there is little that they can do militarily or even politically, save the points made in your original post. But if the caliphate is ever restored, if there is ever that one ruler to whom all Muslims owe allegiance, all bets are off. Even as backward as they appear, when you add any kind of organized military force of the size that they would then be able to deliver to the infiltration and subversion which is already occurring... Admitedly, it would be a struggle for any of the Muslim 'denominations' to put forward one man as the caliph and have all Muslims recognize him. But it is not impossible and, I believe, it will happen in the not too distant future. Please read Joel Richardson's "Antichrist: Islam's Awaited Messiah". He is spot on that they could not mount a conventional attack and win (I doubt they could mount the attack) but he did not address the infiltration angle.
