Betty, are blacks in Africa called African Africans or African Blacks or Black Africans? This PC crap of being offended about everything plus one is ridiculous. I agree with Big Dog “Pastor” (term used lightly) Wright was more insulting to black Americans than any white person could ever be. He would presume to
represent many black Americans who don’t want to have his representation and DO NOT agree with his radical views.

Betty, I never mentioned Africa and I am NOT going to call her African American. She is black. I don’t hear people like you get all upset when jackasses like Pastor Wright talk about WHITE people. He does not call us European Americans.

I also do not recall saying that she represented all black (yeah I said black) people. I castigated her for what she did.

I promise not to call an African American black if that person happens to be a white African.

Are you upset when they say Obambi could be the first black president?

Yes there is one anthem, but for those of you, including “BIG DOG” who feel the need to slap BLACK and AFRICA in your one sided responses… you make readers not want to read past the first line. You assume every AFRICAN AMERICAN feels it was OK for her to do what she did… simply not the case. And next time.. please do not address an african american as BLACK.

I agree.. there is only one national anthem. And its not a “white national anthem”. I brought this up to a co-worker today who told me she didn’t mind that Rene Marie changed it because she herself couldn’t identify with the lyric. I was saddened. Just because you don’t identify with the lyrics doesn’t mean you can go and substitute the lyrics. I think the younger generation are becoming incredibly selfish. There is only one national anthem and it can not be swapped around based on one’s ethnicity.

Unfortunately, this is quite typical of those on the left (I’m just guessing, but want to bet she’s a leftist?) They, and she, are incredibly selfish. Gunny (bob?), as you can tell nobody is overlooking this. It’s really caused quite a lot of outrage in our community. So again, nothing to do with Obama. He’s neither anti-white (he’s half white) nor anti-American.
Also, for the record: her hair is gray, not blond.

The words to the song are beautiful, no doubt, but to have a blonde haired black woman sing it to a captive audience,with no advance notice is on the same level as farting in an elevator.
Is she trying to make a statement with her blonde hair?Does she really subconsiously hate being black?Who is she emulating with that? Marilyn Monroe?Madonna?, or perhaps her girlfriend/lover?
Why not leave her hair natural,she would at least appear to be more sincere and honest.
Seems a bit ironic and hypocritical to me.She was hired to do a job, and instead, used the podium for a personal political statement.What if you hired someone to paint your house blue, and it was painted purple instead? Same principal.
The downfall of America began with the Hyphenated America.Native-American, Hispanic-American,Afro-American, Etc-American.Is our country not called the UNITED states of America?Wheree is our unity if we divide ourselves into separatists’ groups.

Big Dog, thank you, well said. I appreciate your comments. We will never get over the fact that racism will always exist. I am a black man who has served my country and will again if i’m called back into duty. Although i fill different about the direction our nation has taken, there is someone out there, possibly in there mothers womb that i need to standup and fight for. For that, I will stand as a true American. It doesn’t matter what color of creed. The one thing we have all been given is a choice. We have the right to choose, Heaven or Hell, Freedom or Jail. Rene, Obama, Michelle – black racists. No difference. When I hear Obama and Michelle speak, I hear ‘we will unite and crush white people’.
