UC Berkeley is actually a great school and has been a great in advancing our nation and the world technologically, as well as in many other ways. Of course, the city of Berkeley, California is a different beast. That is where the vast majority of ridiculous actions that we see in the news take place, and they generally don't have a whole lot to do with the University as far as I know. So really, any and all negativity towards Berkeley should be directed towards the city, not the school; as UC Berkeley is truly a great American school, and it has been for a very long time now. UC Berkeley actually has a long military history, as contrary as it may seem, I know.
